You have look at the Lever and May trade together. In 2018 we were the easiest team to score against with OMac and Frost as our pillars. Some here like Binman fought to the death on OMac telling us what a superstar he was but it was clear that you need a first class defence to win a flag. We could score in 18 but were too easy to score against. We had an emerging midfield. Were the lever and May trades worth it. You bet.

PREGAME: Rd 01 vs Western Bulldogs
Exactly. Thats how our coaching staff operate. The Dogs going in with too many talls in their fwd line would be a mistake. Easy to counter when the ball hits the ground. The weather will be factor. Last night on Ch 7 they were saying it is predicted to be 35 degree with a late stormy change. This morning I notice the BoM says it will be 29deg with a 5% chance of rain [But 1cm higher sea levels in 100 years!]

Melbourne Membership Day at SEN
Spargo spoke very well. I think in large part our players are humble and respectful as well as reasonably articulate (Clarry aside!)

Melbourne Membership Day at SEN
Dislike Derwayne intensely but this one I get. Often you will join a telecast midway and not be updated on what has gone on before. I think they should do a recap more often

Welcome to Demonland Josh Schache
I think that part is innate, very difficult to develop it

Welcome to Demonland Josh Schache
If we are being honest he is like Weid but with a bit more versatility and adaptability. Can play fwd or back He can actually take a one grab mark which was Weid's downfall IMO so all in all its a slight upgrade

Champion Data: Every Clubs Pros & Cons
Teams changed the way they played against us and we did not respond. As well we were cooked from being hyped up too early 'Kick long to Lever or may and you lose against Melbourne' is the mantra for most opposition teams. We need to be able to respond better to chaos balls or balls that are run into the fwd line with handballs and/or short kicks a la Sydney or Collingwood.

AFL Captains Vote
I believe this is done at the AFL Captains Day photo The Captains likely ask other Captains 'who is the smokey at your club that could win the Rising Star' Max would have said McVee

Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years
Will be interesting to see the pressure Jackson comes under this year. Personally I fell he has put himself right under the pump in a two team town that lives and breathes football. Kozzie might just well see that and say 'no thanks I don't need that pressure. Perhaps I'll win 3 or 4 more flags at the Dees and then head back for bigger coin in a few years time" Let's hope Jackson cops a ridiculous amount of pressure.

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Richmond
Just watched Fox footy where King and Montagna both picked the Dees for the flag. Said the Dees were 18th for moving through the corridor in 2022. Pre season games showed us aggressively moving through the corridor and changing angles to straighten up our attack We will be much harder to play against this year and we will get a good chance to see that in action when we play Sydney in Round 3 - a team we have struggled against for years.

Collingwood image ‘raising eyebrows and questions’
If the media (and Collingwood) didn't have double standards they would have any at all....

Kozzy Pickett Re-Signs for 4 Years
They knew about Angus a lot earlier but were waiting on Jackson to sort out the contractual details (length, front/back loading etc)
