  1. And it could be argued that pickett has modified his behaviour after being suspended for the Smith bump He rarely goes for the body now and often'pulls up' after trying to put pressure on. Maynard is a long term thug whose behaviour should be rubbed out of the game. The opportunity is there for the AFL or else duty of care is extinguished. Any thug can run straight at the body front on and claim it was a footy action. He had choices but once you leave the ground you're beholden to the result. There was no duty of care, he was late, a totally unrealistic attempt he went for the body, turned and shouldered his head If the Afl is serious he had to go. As should have Cripps and Dangerfield
  2. The last 3 times we have played the pies we have been down by 3 goals or so in the first 10m If you think that's not on the coaches preparing the players i can't help you Let's just keep doing what we always do then and fight back from 30pts down ffs Mcrae is from the Mathews school of coaching. if it bleeds you can kill it It shouldn't have to be said but finals are different
  3. https://twitter.com/UnbiasdOpinion/status/1699744235145306592?t=L0aLNwKxWsdrCeyj2AUzmA&s=19 Pickett spoiled Will Hoskin Elliott and didn't smash his head. So much for a natural footy act Maynard the dog gets 4
  4. Goodwin will say we outplayed them for 2 and a half quarters, just needed to kick straight He won't change anything other than forced change to Brayshaw Grow some balls man. Have we ever tried Thommo fwd for example? Could have played on moore Ha plays favourites and it costs us As for the slow starts. I watch them in the change rooms beforehand and there is no hype no buzz no fever pitch. If steady as she goes, calm, quiet. Get some f'ing aggression and come out firing. Early goals are good in finals
  5. I watched it and yes I was moore p*eed off than I was last night. When we moved the ball quickly we looked a different side. WTF is this waiting with the ball for the opposition to flood back? And Dangerfield (I think) made a good point that Coll would wait (if we flooded back) chip the ball around and force our players to come out of defence to man up. Their fwd line seemed so much more open. The number of times they streamed through the corridor made my blood boil. But they [censored] their pants when we came at them in the last. Instead of 4 OOF imagine Kozzie or Fritsch goaling. The game would have turned on its head.
  6. No you have it wrong. Its not the smother. Its the turn, tucking the arm in and hitting Brayshaws head with the point of his shoulder
  7. Maynard had not even left the ground when Brayshaw kicked it.
  8. Was it avoidable? Absolutely yes He didn't bring his arms straight down. he turned and launched the point of his shoulder into Gus' head. Life Ban for mine.
  9. If Maynard had jumped in the air to 'bump' Gus he would be gone for all money. Does the fact he tried to 'spoil' the kick - even totally unrealistically - change the fact that he collected Gus in the had with the point of his shoulder? There are numerous examples of players contesting the ball and then at the last minute bracing for contact who have been suspended. But then there was Patrick Cripps who left the ground and KO'd Ah Chee from Brisbane A Collingwood veteran on the MRP will help the cause for Maynard I'm sure.
  10. Selfish Bayley re-appeared last night. Burnt players. Jumped on packs with no chance of getting the ball, spoiled our own players Bad habit
  11. Will be a few showers of lightish rain but v windy apparently
  12. Just looking at some Coll games. In 9 games this year they have been behind at 3/4 time. Amazing for a team that is so "dominant" We've got this.
  13. Hawkins was a beast from Day 1 Kicked 5g in his first game against us. He is the polar opposite of jefferson.
  14. Darling is the most overated footballer in the league
  15. Listen to a guy from the weather bureau on SEN. Said rain would hit between 6pm and 7pm but be fairly light with a couple of showers across the evening. The bigger issue would appear to be wind as it will be gusty/blustery all night.
  16. Just needs to stop Moore. If he scores goals then all well and good. Thats a bonus
  17. Or any day?
  18. You have too much time on your hands! In Jason Taylor and Tim Lamb we trust
  19. Very stiff not to be a Premiership player with the Dees Goodwin never liked him
  20. One thing we know from Jackson and Pickett is that the club will take the players it needs and rate. Both Jackson and Pickett were valued way behind the picks they were taken. We copped heat for our picks because "no one takes a ruckman at 3" and pickett was ranked as low a 30 by a few. Taylor and Lamb will be all over this and we will get good players regardless of where others rank them.
  21. A surprising number of times they have been behind at 3/4 time. They really put pressure on their last quarter bursts. May not work with the Dees.

    Is that like rope burn?
  24. He had other options. West Coast gave him a three year deal I believe. And you're right, He didn't want to leave.
  25. You can't teach aggression, intensity and physicality - thats my biggest worry for him It's innate in players like JVR and Viney.
