  1. It seems we call it his last season every year but boy has he been an important cog for us. Would love for him to continue uninjured into 2023
  2. IF he can get back to his 2021 form he could be a valuable player If not he should never play again for the red and blue. His second half of the year was abysmal. He looked like the mechano man running in concrete and his in ability to take a clean grab was devastating. We clearly need TMac to come back all healed
  3. Like the look of this lad....
  4. Well its a palindrome for a start....
  5. That is so facetious :) (oh, snap!)
  6. Probably was. He would have been mentioned in an array of 'possibles'. Suggest there were no takers. Or clubs thought they could punt the free agent/rookie market for him.
  7. Dogga will be under the most pressure of any footballer in the State of WA. And they are pretty feral when it comes to under-performance. He is in for a torrid ride
  8. The Rat pack of Libba and Hunter is likely what Dunkley was sick of. He alluded to behavioural issues for several years Fingers crossed he has had a wake up call.
  9. Interesting only 1 mark in that highlights package. Says it all really. Lovely bloke and I wish him all the best but we have to keep the list turning over.
  10. The same people lamenting Weid leaving lamented Oscar McDonald leaving.
  11. Maybe you could have a contract that witheld say 20% and should they request to 'go home' it is forfeited... If the club decides to move them on any monies witheld will be paid out... Might make players think twice about breaking contracts...
  12. Oscar is a B Grader according to Buckenara! And we should have traded Langdon because we have too many similar players. Seriously he is a peanut.
  13. Tim Lamb comments are spot on I reckon “We don't get tied up in the minutiae of every little deal, which I think is an approach that we take, which allows us to get deals done generally in a timely fashion. “If you look at Luke (Jackson) going out, Brodie’s come in. We've lost Jayden Hunt as a free agent and Lachie Hunter comes in. Kade Chandler will come up from the rookie list to replace Toby Bedford, who we lost. Sam Weideman goes out, Josh Schache comes in. Then we've got a much-improved draft hand.”
  14. Will always be grateful to Jacko for helping secure a Premiership and his 3rd qtr in the GF was scintillating. But... he is dead to me now. I'll show as much loyalty to him as he has to us.
  15. TMac will come back and JVR will play round 1. So as much as I like the idea of Petty fwd it wont be standard fare week in week out.
  16. Played the lock down defender role quite well this year at the expense of his run and carry. Got beaten a few times by Papley which is no disgrace. Don't think Goodwin ever liked him
  17. I really like Brown Old fashioned footballer with a wise head. Sadly he seemed to be stuck between the VFL and AFL talent wise
  18. Thats what I don't get. LJ was a highly speculative pick at 3 yet he has excelled with an excellent CV. Almost universally predicted to be a 10 year superstar. JHF? Really? A muppet that needs to grow up
  19. rd 9 We played a good first half against the Saints but were beaten in the 2nd half.
  20. This. For our much vaunted midfield we do not dominate as we should.
  21. 10 games over 4 years plus 8 games as the unused medi sub this year Yeah, he has been badly handled. I can see why he wants out. Kinda obvious.
  22. Time on ground is very important and this years results is a good example as you point out. . But over a 5 year window he had 2 good years. The Bluey is an interesting indicator because the coaches know what the player is tasked with, what they are capable of and how they have performed against that benchmark. Its the closest proxy we have. And while we fall in love with 'our' players, the reality is that they come and go. The players themselves have a greater bond with each other than the club generally. They sweat blood together The club has a greater duty to protect the overall team and evolve it into a better unit. Its why we let players go like Watts and Sylvia. So I get the discussion around Harmes. Not saying its right or wrong but they would be derelict in their duty not to look at the 'fringe' players It all seems moot now as he is staying but I imagine every year they divide the list into 'untouchables', 'maybes', 'definitely get rid of' based on a range of variables.
  23. He has been badly handled Understand why he would want to go somewhere he will be loved.
  24. Great highlights reel. Will long remember his final few minutes against Carlton. Outstanding. Sad to see him go. Two of our fastest players gone - Hunt and Bedford with Baker likely gone as well. We need to inject some pace pronto.
  25. Harmes' Finishes in the Bluey 16th in 2022 19th in 2021 not in top 20 2020 4th in 2019 3rd in 2018 17th in 2017 19th in 2016 Interesting to see how the club rates him and certainly the last 3 years he has underwhelmed (for whatever reason) When we look to the club to improve the list they have to make decisions around players like this. As much as most of us like Harmes he has points of frustration with his game. His best is clearly very good. But too often we see average performances. No we don't know what roles the coaches have him playing but the finishes in the Bluey are pretty telling for mine. And when all is said and done I follow the club first and the players second, We want success and so log as Harmes has been dealt with fairly and with respect then they must do what they have to do to improve the side.
