  1. Here's a weird thought I had this morning after reading that..... Ess, the club, can't be seen to be fighting tooth and nail to delay this whole saga. They are too beholden to the AFL with TV rights money, fixtures, draft etc. It's to easy for the AFL to whack them. But they do want a delay so they can turn their list over. They do want to fight because they have massive egos etc So maybe they have done a deal with T(h)ird (silent 'h'). You fight it. We'll back you. We'll sign you to a huge contract extension, We'll pay your legal bills. You wear the heat but you'll be our hero forever. And wealthy. And you can do it under the guise of 'fighting for the little guys' fighting for the players' etc etc The money is nothing to Little. He's a corporate rottweiller so winning is what counts to him. If they win the legal battle they are sweet. If they delay it 3 yrs they will have turned their list over. They are sweet They won't care if they have trashed their repoutation in the eyes of the football and wider public. It makes sense to me that this is their ploy. Because any other explanation as to why they are backing Tird to the hilt doesn't make sense. And why they re-signed him etc etc..... Just a thought...
  2. Er they have another huge house in Toorak. And only 1 is CGT free.... The one that you see on TV when Tarnia does her 'doorstops'
  3. The other thing about the draft is the psychology. Not many clubs are prepared to go against the orthodox picks in the top 5. They are too worried about being pilloried for giving away the 250 game champion (say a Joel Selwood for example) Plus if you have one of those picks it is most likely that you don't do as much homework on picks 10 to say 20. Whereas the clubs with picks at 10-20 do a huge amount of work on a wide range of players. Just sayin..
  4. OMG Just leave this forum forever would you.
  5. The very definition of tongue in cheek or taking the p155
  6. Only if you are trying to claim the expenses against tax or medicare. And as fare as tax I am not sure of Not for profit clubs have to worry about such things. As for medicare there is already an investigation into Dank claiming unauthorised blood tests and forging a doctors signature allegedly.
  7. Looks like we should trade out pick 35 for pick 40/...
  8. Its a farce where a Tom Boyd or Dayne Beams can say I want out. That is definitely the bell ringing for contractual changes as its the way things are going. My belief is that if it comes to the point where a player says he's leaving mid-year then that actually will put the acid on them to perform. Supporters will have to get over it because its gonna happen. But at least if we know the player wont be able to run around half arsed like Frawley did. Everyone will call them out for being lazy money grubbing mercenaries. And whether we drop them or not will highly subjective. But I suspect it means future contracts will have performance clauses built in - if you don't average x possessions then we wont pay you - (don't think this could be contracted but some kind of performance based thing where a player had to perform all the way up to the end of their contract.) The players and their managers are bringing this on themselves. ANd clubs will undoubtedly trade earlier rather than wait till the end.
  9. Did we have an AGM?
  10. This attitude really annoys me and frankly says a lot about your football knowledge and observations. Its his 12th year in the system FCS. He was exactly the culture that set in and caused us to underperform. He wasn't alone but his CGAF attitude, I'll get by on my talent is the reason why so many juniors go on to fail or underperform at AFL level. The real crime is that our administrative and coaching culture was so weak that we didn't trade him when we realised (or worse still didn't realise) that he would never have the right attitude to get the best out of himself. Nor did we have the leaders at our club (Bruce, Whte, Yze, Green et al) that could demonstrate and demand excellence of training standards, on-field standards and off-field standards. Aside from Junior we were bereft of on field leaders which is why for so many years we would have long spells of under performance (this week is a line in the sand blah blah blah) Plenty here did recognise it early such as yours truly and got castigated for it. And worse still they aim their venom at someone like JT that tries his guts out and has had a devastating run with injury. Give me someone with Sylvia's undoubted talent but with Cross' or even Terlich's attitude and commitment to get the best out of themselves.
  11. Agree with this. Have said it before. The detail that clubs go to when collecting data on running, skin folds, diet, injuries etc etc is insane. To not record the drug program is simply not believable. For a start it cost in the order of $500-700k. Second you would want to know what the effects were. Have the players improved? What are the injury/recovery rates? Is it worth it etc etc If they didn't collect it they should go for that alone. If they lost it (like Doc Reid's phantom letter) they should go. The circumstantial evidence and trail of ordering the drugs, compounding etc is enough (under the WADA/ASADA rules) to suspend them in any case but in the absence of records it is almost a certainty. They are cooked.
  12. Ha ha on T$!
  13. Story of his career...
  14. Out of curiosity where else would you throw up?
  15. You are sounding a bit shrill there Beelz... As for you personal abuse its frankly pathetic and you should know better as someone who clearly spends the better part of his life glued to his computer.
  16. Hey we could always hire a dc3 aircraft and fly low to avoid any altitude sickness...oh, wait......
  17. You can take your umbrage and do with it what you will. You clearly don't like JT. I do. I think he needs our support. And he deserves it.
  18. This thread is distasteful. JT is a guy that has worked tireslessly for our club. He get Sweet FA respect from some here and he deserves more. Has clearly received devastating injuries and is working his backside off to try to come back and play again. No-one knows whether he will return but he is giving it his best shot which is more than can be said for some our players over the past decade. He has my support and I wish him the very best. His best football is fantastic. Lets all hope he can get back on the park to show us.
  19. I still don't see why the TGA or the medical board can't investigate or deregister him. Surely he has to be licensed by someone to prescribe 16000 injections of hocus pocus..... He seems to walking the streets without anyone holding him to account. How is that so??
  20. Really? And Tony Libretore saying 'Carlton tanked, no bones about it' wasn't enough? Or Fev saying they tanked in the Kreuzer CUp?? Nah, just look at who the Chief Commissioner played for. That will get you your answer....
  21. Very sensitive D2014....
  22. This was an investment property that Taaaaarnia renovated. Not their family home.....
