Sad that it wasn't 2yrs ago. He might then have learned his lessons and be playing good football now when we need him to.

Any sign of Georgiou??? Ha hahahahah

The key is in the level of proof with WADA / CAS implying/saying the burden of proof used by the AFL tribunal was too high ie: 100% certainty that they used TB4 when they know it was ordered, bought, compounded, sent to Dank and Dank thought he was injecting it BUT wa can't be 100% sure that what came from the factory was TB4. They could be on to something....
-
I think they can. Just because ASADA didn't run with AOD9604 and other drugs taken doesn't mean that WADA can't charge the players after investigating themselves. You could be right I am just surmising....
-
Everything. Starting from scratch. the EFC were [censored]-a-hoop that the AFL/ASADA investigation only was about TB4. All the other stuff was taken up by the AFL's $2m fine for governance and record keeping. WADA are looking at everything again including I assume AOD9604.
-
What? So they gave ASADA a copy of the spreadsheet and didn't keep the original (or a copy)???? And then ASADA destroyed the only evidence there was. Now that is feasible. Damn ASADA. FMD these EFC muppets must be stupid if they are trying to run that line.
-
All he has said is that he had no idea on the extent of what went on. The footy department and Doc Reid were in charge and everyone expected protcols would be followed. Now that might be self serving but CEO's dont micromanage staff like that, particularly a long standing doctor and club legend. So it does sound feasable he had little knowledge.

GM has some crackers in this thread... errr james Frawley??

Ouch. Sauce with tha humble pie.....? I tell you what I am over. I am over 'experts' writing off our young players. get behind them and support them. Yes we can be critical but in a measured and sensible way. They are learning the game and will make mistakes.

Ha ha 'Spike' McVeigh. The impartial commentator on this saga! My foot.

What has Hird said about Robson?
-
Agree. No doubt Hird and his cohorts tried to push the envelope (Coll/Carlton etc 'they are all doing it') and brought in a guy of dubious repute. They sold the story to the players (Bomba is here and look what Robbo and Danky dd for Geelong). Hird also has previous form with Charters (that hasn't really been pushed by any media - How did he recover from some of his horrific injuries and perform so well etc etc) They actively sought to bypass the club doctor AND nutritionist - ie: anyone that raised doubts The records are conveniently gone The players may have drunk the Kool Aid but it is their responsiblity. If WADA can't prove that waht teh platyers took they can whack the club for poor governance etc. The interest will be whether the AFL penalties already served by the EFC will be deemed enough. My feeling is WADA will be looking for scalps but at the very least to whack: - the Aust Govt for having lax laws relating to compelling witnesses to give evidence and a weak drug enforcement culture - the AFL for having a lax regime and pizzpoor supervision of clubs - the EFC coaches and administration that should never be allowed near a club again The players may well get off but there is going to be a lot of collateral damage to the integrity of Australian sport. We will all suffer from the reputational damage these feral EFC people have inflicted on our sporting community. It makes me sick that the media and acolytes are supporting the EFC saying 'its unfair' 'enough is enough' 'they are good blokes' etc Every Olympian in this country would be sick to their stomachs about what these cheats have gotten away with.

This.

The EFC and its players have not been found innocent. And in the court of public opinion they are as guilty as sin itself.

Forget the money. Its a nonsense argument OD. We have to pay it to someone and there weren't queue's of premiership players lining up to join the Dees. We were desperate for big bodied leaders and that's what we got. Not his fault. Every year we see the boards cry out for "get Dangerfield" or get Judd" etc etc but they forget that very few ppl want to come to the Dees. That PJ and Roos have been able to attract to quality players by sharing their vision for the club is fankly unbelievable and we are very lucky to have secured the players we have got.
-
So James, prove what they did take?
-
They had three number 1 pics from 3 spoons. We never did that. And I can't wait for the "see that's what you get when you tank" revisionists........

What we might find is that there isn't enough evidence to get the players but the coaches, administrators and board are banned for life. And the club is sanctioned very heavily - ie banned from games etc. This will effectively be whacking the players as well The facts are: There is evidence of a doping regime. They can't find the records. (I still laugh at the "we don't know what they took but we know it wasn't illegal") They were searching for a competitive edge. They employed dodgy charlatans They by-passed their club doctor They have obfuscated and attempted to hinder the investigation The EFCs behaviour has been deplorable. Judgement time coming. And another season or two wasted. And don't forget Worksafe is still going....
