TRAINING: Friday 8th November 2019
Totally disagree. Leadership is a critical factor in our club that has been missing for a long time. And it starts with attitude. Actions speak louder than words and how they turn up, when they turn up has a big role to play. Jack Watts was a case in point. After finishing for the first time in the top 5 at the B& F telling everyone he understood how hard you had to work and he would be working harder in future, comes back from the summer break with poor skin folds, poor attitude and misses all the JLT games as 'punishment'. When that is allowed to go unchallenged mediocrity becomes acceptable. Fortunately Goody marked Watts' papers that day.

2019 Player Reviews: #19 Mitch Hannan
It's a real balance. In hindsight JKH, VDB and Stretch have been given way too much time. All have shown glimpses. VDB perhaps more than the other two but has been injury prone. Some just take longer to get there. Jetta is a case in point. And then its not like you can just wave a wand and replace 10 players with 10 ready made players. A list manager has a tough job.

The Coaches Jet Off to the US
Yes the fact he is going with Richo is good. 24/7 talking about how to make it work, strategies, tactics, leadership etc A clear plan hopefully with a strategy of how to execute it and engage everyone else around you.

Jordan Lewis joins coaching team part-time
We've done well with Bernie, Crossy and now lewis staying on at the club after they have finished. Very good for morale and club building.

The Coaches Jet Off to the US
Goodwin needs to change (by his own admission), Buckley has, Hardwick has. How Goodwin changes will be critical to our club. With his shiny new team of coaches everything has to go right. these trips can be valuable and probably even better that he's doing it with Richo. They need to be on the same Page because if we are 0 and 4 all hell could break loose.

2020 AFL Fixture
So its reported that Carlton have 2 Friday night blockbusters at the start of the season. How the hell do they get the star treatment when they have lost 11 in a row of the opening round? They have had 6 or 7 prime time games last year as well.

Really? Brisbane says hello. Their draw and limited injury list propelled them to second where they were found out.

- Neville Jettas Protege

Paddy McCartin
Would we have picked up Paddy if the Aints had taken Petracca? Sliding doors perhaps.

Paul Roos: Rugby Union is like Melb Demons were
Some snippets: One of the first things we got right at Melbourne was cohesion from the top down. The coach has to be given all the responsibility and authority. You can’t have a high-performance manager coming in on top of the coach. teams that win sports championships throughout the world are the best defensively. Offence is talent, and defence is mentality. Build a defence that no other team finds easy to break. It was our mantra at the ÂDemons — be the team everyone hates playing. (we are the opposite!) If you’re a behavioural-based team, your performance rarely drops. I think of Hawthorn and the Melbourne Storm. If you’re a talent-based, experimental team, you’ll have your good days when you beat one of the better teams. But it won’t last, and it will crack under pressure (very astute observation)

2019 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty
One of those players that can mark the ball at his highest point as it were. Makes it very difficult to defend against. Took a very positive step fwd this year. A lot to look fwd to.

2019 Player Reviews: #33 Oskar Baker
Definitely something there with Oscar B. Has vision and the abilty to use pace and side step to give himself extra time. They're good qualities to have. Also seemed to deliver the ball quite well. Seemed quite comfortable on the field and would expect to get beter with more game time.

2019 Player Reviews: #30 Alex Neal-Bullen
Another year like this and its a delist. If he could have more composure he could be a very good player. But his handballs to peoples feet, fumbles at critical times and poor delivery make him a liability.

Jack Martin
In theory yes but there is a price and he isn't really a 'proven' performer. He is a reasonable player with a lot of potential. At the risk of setting off a firestorm I rate him like Jack Watts. Could be anything but will probably end up middle of the road.
