  1. 6- Garland 5- Sylvia 4- Byrnes 3- M.Jones 2. Evans 1. Watts Grimes and Trengove let me down a bit too much today
  2. Bit harsh I know, but I'd be willing to give Strauss a go over him, and he hasn't impressed me too much yet
  3. In- Mckenzie, Blease, Strauss (and Magner if able to) Out- Jetta, Clark, Terlich Put Watts in the forward line! Only put Viney out if unfit, just cause he had one bad game doesn't mean he should be rested/dropped
  4. If we win, the fans should be able to go on the ground and throw tomatoes at a caged Tom Scully in the centre. If not, bring a SIGN HERE SCULLY sign (Double meaning). Or just bring your money bags and shout at him during the warm up. But please do turn up, I have my deepest sympathies
  5. Neeld praises our effort in the press conference
  6. It's a shame we can't play Magner. Since we picked Sellar on preseason form, the absence of Magner is a worry, he dominated in the midfield against Port and St.Kilda. Plus we lowered his number from 49 to 22. PLAY THE DAMN MAN! one more thing. JACK WATTS
  7. We could use Joel Macdonald's endeavour in defence
  8. There has to be something a coach can say or do to stem that sort of scoring. Nail players to goalposts. Kick it to each other for a while (although that's clearly a challenge for us) Change the game plan. Come on. I think it'd be more interesting if they could televise Neeld's half time address.
  9. He just looks lost. He gets caught every time he gets the ball, can't think quickly and doesn't seem overly passionate. Don't really know where he fits in terms of positioning either. I know that there's always that argument about him being young and our developing and our recruiting sucks and we should wait with him and so on, but he's definitely been a disappointment.
  10. NO to a priority pick. (I've had it up to here in talk about picks helping us) NO to AFL Help/intervention (Especially since they almost robbed 500,000 off us) YES to a showing of passion and resilience from supporters, players, past players and reminding everyone that we are the club that started the game and we are above this sympathy treatment.
  11. 6. Frawley 5. N.Jones 4. M.Jones 3. Howe 2. Viney 1. Davey
  12. I don't really look at it in the sense that we have had a culture problem that Neeld is the victim of and the pain has been going on for years etc...Our past 49 years haven't been smooth, sure, but we haven't laid down, we've had good little eras, fantastic wins and great spirit from players and fans. I'm more worried about the abysmal last two games where an alarming lack of effort, structure and skill have been shown, something I never thought I'd see. Not this year, or any year. And I don't know who's to blame. From what I know, I don't like Neeld much and don't like how our game plan has changed, I don't like certain players going out there and playing. There's probably something wrong in other areas of management, though that's not my expertise. Basically, it's just been a huge shock. I'm not gonna make some emphatic stand on boycotting matches due to the way we're playing, because I view it in the sense that I have a membership, and the games will happen anyway, the results are the same no matter when you leave the game or if you don't go at all. It's sad to even think about footy at the moment, and the thought of attending next week is a bit scary, I'm sure many of you are like minded. But don't give up with 20 games left in the season, there will still be a lot to see at games. I like going to the footy and still do, and I still have the same love for what I think the club is and what it represents.
  13. Was probably in our top few tonight. Two exciting goals was a huge bonus, our only 2 exciting goals to be honest. Pity is, over the last couple of years he's been very quick to discard after showing good signs and then a bad performance. Unless he goes completely off the rails, he's an important player to have out there.
  14. We just don't attack the ground like we should. Neeld's very optimistic that our skills are good enough to poke the ball from side to side. It's not, and our defence's positioning and lack of pressure is also appalling. Under Bailey we attacked the MCG from end to end with confidence and everyone could kick goals. A game V Port Adelaide at the G under Bailey would have been a piece of cake. I used to feel like we knew the MCG, at times on Sunday it felt like an away game.
  15. Jamar is the problem? Seriously, he was one of our best, at least he knew where abouts to move on the ground and provided some contests.
  16. 6. Viney- by the far the best 5. Jamar- looked pretty good around the ground 4. Mckenzie- Better than most games last year, quite effective 3. Grimes- Liked his run around defence and his posessions, though still didn't like his decision making. 2. Clark- Didn't really do anything wrong, a couple of great goals from 50 1. Sylvia- Decent.
  17. About 22,000. 25 would be fantastic. First game of the year, there's always plenty of interest and excitement for supporters, especially with the new players. 1:10 timeslot is favourable, certainly for me over twilight. and we had 33,473 last year against the Lions.
  18. 1:10 is far better than twilight for attendance purposes, I think
  19. What a joke of a flier I got in the mail for a Melbourne FC foxtel pack. "The Demons need your cheer" "Get every game of the H&A season live and we'll smash the comp this year" 1. Yeah, they need my cheer so I'm actually going to the games, not wasting my money on foxtel. 2. The second part is a white lie, and it's a joke the club let that be sent out to members. Hopefully they accept refunds at the end of the season for misleading people. I think it's a pretty big mistake by the club endorsing Foxtel to paid members who plan on attending all or most games in Melbourne. We already get small enough crowds. Just seems to me like they're saying "It's ok to cheer from your couch". I'm not dumb enough to fall for this. Plus, our away games against Brisbane,Adelaide and GWS are on Channel 7, so there's not much benefit. (and we play 12 of our first 14 at the G)
  20. Mckenzie and Trengove both had poor years, if they find form we'll be ok. From what i've seen in the nab cup Magner should be given a chance in the middle. Rodan too, hopefully he still has the pace. With Viney too we have plenty of inside options. I think Grimes is important in defence due to his marking.
  21. Interesting that McKenzie didn't play today despite being in the squad. Could he miss out Round 1? Especially with Magner playing so well in the middle
  22. Very true...too long have we taken being in the league for granted and promoted ideas about patience, list management and other crap. Not to mention relying on draft picks to fix us eventually. All us supporters need to know is that we are trying to win every game and win the premiership each season, it should be obvious but no one in our club ever says that
  23. Well the admission price should be shortened accordingly too
  24. I'm a spectator and I'd be more comfortable with full length quarters
  25. It says the criteria is performance over the past 2 seasons. Jones has been miles ahead of Grimes in that time, I seriously don't get how Grimes is elite
