MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 23
Je Roos Salem replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
In: Garlett, Salem, Harmes Out: Michie, Neal-Bullen, Oliver Weid stays, Oliver is gone for some reason -
Grimes and Trengove future rests with Goodwin

Surprised to see him only listed 86, to me he looked huge a few years back, like a Firrito.Maybe he lost some but I'm pretty sure we're after his physicality and his pretty good left boot. Not sure who's the better runner of the two though -
Miller at least got his body right and kicked a few goals, it'd be a kick in the guts if he did that at a new team!

Thanks, well if it plays out like that, we might as well keep him as a token gesture but I still can't see him fitting in the senior side -
I think the only thing a full preseason would give him would be a lack of a rebuttal argument for some of the garbage displays that he has given over the past couple of years

He deserves it based on sentimentality but not much else. Pardon my ignorance but why is it him or pick 80? -

If they're a good bloke I'll give them 5 years to get their body right -

It's still just IFs though. We could keep giving him that chance for a huge preseason, or we could move forward with guys who can reliably provide more. -

I think the Trengove return is a bit of a pipe dream at the moment. Yeah, most people think he deserves another shot. But we're just biding time with a player who probably won't be good enough -

Melbourne has tough calls to make on Jack Grimes and Jack Trengove I struggle now to see a role for either going forward as we build a quality list. Might not be a popular call with Trengove, but I think we're past him -
Sorry, but I don't see what previous premierships count for. It was the mindset the club had going into 2013 and we were lead straight into a hole
-
I don't think anyone here's judging by pay, I'm judging him on his skills and his lack of output. If his body has been the problem, why just hope it'll come good now?
-
The most dangerous goal kicker of our midfield. We need goals from the midfield, unfortunately Jones is not one and Vince not any more
-
It's almost laughable that the article talks him up as a spearhead and a mentor. But call him what you will if it can get us something in return
-
Need the insurance for their forward line, Petrie and Waite would be a big hit together and Waite was in much better form before injury. Give him one more season to get his body right
-
But that would be untruthful. I don't know if any of them were planning to retire, perhaps only Petrie and Firrito
-
Did standing room sell out or can you buy those on game day? Never saw any available in that area
-
There was a Jones too high that was really obvious and by the 2nd half there were a couple of inconsistencies, when we had 0-1 in the first half I thought it was pretty incidental though

He was the best inclusion of the 3 but playing him made little sense -

Bernie is starting to look like how I thought he'd play when we picked him up -

Hogan did a lot more than Weideman, however Weideman shouldn't have been picked ahead of Pedo I seriously thought we were past games like this. We weren't turned on from the start but the Blues didn't look like they'd blow us away after that head start. This should've been a scrappy win but no one stepped up when we had the chances -

Exactly. To not kick* a goal after that Gawn one early in the 4th was awful with the ball. The players did not care -

We could've easily gotten back into it had we kicked straighter in the 2nd, our intensity was right then. For most of the 2nd half we just gave up on having a forward set up though -

Why on earth did we bring in a couple of VFL players? We completely gave up except our defence. Didn't give a [censored] forward of centre. Deplorable use from inside 50. Vince sucked. Petracca can't use the ball. Jones was good but is a headless chook inside 50. Weideman has the body of a cheese stick. We mentally gave up and we could've won the game with a decent attitude in the 2nd half. That was absolutely disastrous -
Will making the 2016 finals hinder our prep for 2017 season?
Je Roos Salem replied to Traja Dee's topic in Melbourne Demons
Could not give an absolute [censored] [censored] if our 2017 season where I dunno what the [censored] will happen in is affected
