  1. Shame, this could've been a big Garlett game. Michie is Mr.White bread. I feel bad for Pedo but I wanted Weideman back so I'll live with that, maybe both could've been in if it weren't likely a wet game
  2. Would've been handy, and funny how they have Toumpas now too. Have forgotten about Wines this year, we don't need that sort of player anymore and he hasn't reached elite category or anything
  3. None for Pedo is surprising, but at least he did that crushing bump. As for Hogan I've become pretty used to it, did not notice much pressure from him tonight
  4. It's a great feeling to be alive with 2 games left. If only that West Coast game was part of this streak, we'd truly be scaring the league
  5. Great win, not a great game though. I think we could've capitalised a bit better at times to not let Port back into it but I really trust us, particularly our defence more than ever. Jetta had a hand in everything, Dixon was completely destroyed. We've eliminated our shocking turnovers we've seen most of the season. Our talent level and resilience is really showing. Some great marking especially given the wetness. Tyson continued his great form, Vince was back where he should be and Brayshaw made a big impact. Not a lot to complain about except maybe Hogan. Gotta focus on Carlton first but playing for a finals spot would be a dream, of course before hoping for the North result on the same night
  6. I'll take that, shame about Weids though, hope he gets back in the final 2
  7. Possibly, but still. He was in the VFL for several weeks and he looked like an elite clearance player against Hawthorn. For now, I'm taking him over Petracca and Brayshaw as our next big star
  8. Wow. Enormous win. From about midway through the 3rd we were simply switched on and played smart footy. CLAYTON OLIVER IS A GUN. WHAT WAS HE DOING AT VFL level? Jeez he could be the next Judd after seeing him around the ball. Then there was Viney and Gawn and you know, many others. Ah go dees
  9. Yeah I forget he's still 19 too. He's impressing me a lot every few games and then slips under the radar a bit
  10. To me it seems like a bit of a wild late season tip from someone who's slipped behind a bit, out of the Age's tipsters she seems to go for a huge upset most often
  11. First time Brayshaw, Petracca and Oliver are playing together. The sun, moon and earth are aligning.
  12. Hawthorn really don't have a ton of depth and not much young talent coming through. They're held together by those five 30+ guys. Probably won't bottom out though since everyone will want to play for them
  13. This will probably be his dominant 4 goal game that comes after two crap ones
  14. I don't recall his body ever being right with us, with the exception of maybe 2013. He was pretty good last week though, after he kicked that goal he was finally marking and leading like a competent forward.
  15. Nice changes and glad Jesse is named, Oliver is overdue and Wagner has looked pretty average since early in the year. I would have Oscar out for one of Dunn/Garland although there is that 'looking to the future' argument. This is one hell of a young side
  16. Yeah I'm a pretty original writer...Or is his confidence fine? Ok, guess he's just not good enough then
  17. Petracca could do with more confidence I think. Just doesn't quite gel with the team yet. Has to force his way into stoppages more and demand the ball
  18. Sucks to see Hogan go goalless two weeks in a row. 0.2 from 3 gettable attempts. He really has to see one go through early and get his confidence up
  19. Oliver has to play. I want a guy who relishes his opportunities rather than Vince or Jones just going through the motions
  20. Firstly- very hard to watch today to the point I almost stopped caring about the sport but I'm really happy with the result as it meant avoiding another close loss. We should've beaten them up more but I'll really take the points. The Suns were basically inept after quarter time yet we left the door open. Watts could've won it last week so I'm glad he arguably did this week, that said I think he should've been able to beat up on the Suns defence as they didn't have a great match up for him and kick at least 6. Apart from a couple of great dashes, Garlett was useless (I'd love to see him jump at the ball sometime), Hogan didn't really turn up, Dawes was as average as the crowd let him know but at least he did some basic leading and marking in the 2nd half. AVB's return to form was something though. Really upset with the consistency of Jones and Vince at the moment, and our senior players just making really inexcusable decisions. The only pieces of class through the middle were generally Brayshaw, Petracca and Hunt. We've really got to stop switching when we're not gonna kick to players' advantage, but just hold them up, kick it at their feet or turn it over. I feel like half the MCC could do better with the ball in hand sometimes, we really need more hard leads to stop those looping kicks sideways and backwards.
  21. What a steal. He'd seriously be the perfect guy for us now too
  22. I think it's hard for any player to come to a club so deep into their career and expect to be a leader. Like Goddard at Essendon. We've tried basing our leadership group around new guys and it's never worked. I think his year's been good enough, but I think he's much more important for the team playing on the ball and being physical, like today or that role he did on Dangerfield, even if he gives away a few silly frees, rather than picking up cheap stats in defence (like last week and a fair bit of the year).
  23. Thought he had much more hunger than last week. Did give away 5 frees, but 3 of them were nonsense
