  1. Steady on, I'd offer a second round pick for a bloke who can get a game...this bloke is like the Kyle Cheny deal of last year. All we have to do is promise the right amount of Money, say $150K plus incentives and that should see it done...although I'm still not convinced this is the right move, after missing out on O'Meara and Crouch it appears that we are just desperate to Trade for anything. We really need to start moving better in Trade Week and start proposistioning players well in advance.
  2. North Melbourne want Maric.... I wonder what we might ask for? The broken swing-set from the Arden St municiple park? What could we possible want from North, maybe a second pick??
  3. Crowley may be on the way back to Vic, if Bate, Maric or Warnock want out, that could be a fair trade...not sure what Crowley would bring other than a bit of carnt.
  4. Try 2013...even though the 17 y/o's get auctioned this year, they can't play until the year after..Viney is also not eligible until 2013.
  5. This post has no real solid merit to it, but is more a bit of postulating. However, with Bucks now at the reins at the Pies, it is a knonwn fact that he stated on the record that he would have cut Heath Shaw when the car crash debacle happened. Now with his 8 week ban for stupidity costing their club pretty dearly with an interupted lead up to the finals, do you think that Bucks will be floating Shaw as trade bait? Would love to see him at the dees, regardless of the off filed stuff, his on field work is first rate.
  6. Good coup by the Dees... starting to build a solid coaching staff one to rival the best in the league, first time in a long time I can remember that being case.
  7. 1. Grimes 2. Frawley 3. Jurrah 4. Green 5. Garland Assuming the thread was based on favourite 5 players, not best 5.
  8. Does Fitz get a mention as well?
  9. Correct Grimes was taken in the PSD, not even in the ND.
  10. Seems the only likely reason: http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/208/newsid/103331/default.aspx
  11. I love it when sarcasm is picked up on, don't you?
  12. I think you're missing the point, I hate Milne as much as anyone, but how good would it be to know that Collingwood were beaten by even more hated entity! It's poetic brilliance. Of course I did fail to mention that after the final siren is sounded, Milne is dragged away by 3 armed police officers as the warrant for his arrest has been raised pending the re-opneing of a sexual assualt case !!
  13. Ideal scenario is this. Pies have been leading for most of the day, although it has been a struggle. Rooey has been causing havoc but he has been well supported by Schneider and Co, as such Maxwell has been curtailed all day and has only 3 possesions to his name. It's 30 seconds to go, the Pies lead it by 4 points. Hayes picks it up off the HFF and launches it forward to the Goal Square. Rooey, Kosi and a mob of Magpie defenders form a pack, then Maxwell gently places a hand into the back of Milne. The contact is incidental and has no influence in preventing Milne from competing fairly...however rules are rules and the umpire must pay the free kick to Milne. He slots it with no trouble, makes an over the top celebration in the face of Maxy who is fuming, he gently pushes Milne on the shoulder to get him out of his face...again the contact is incidental and has no influence on Milne's ability to celebrate...however Rules are rules and the Umpire must award a secondary shot on goal as the contact was deemed high and after the play. Milne slots his second, the siren goes, Saints win by 8 points!!
  14. Interesting that all players who had links to the GC have gone there, Bruce and Ablett are just about the only 2 remaining.
  15. Didn't roughie sign-on on for 4 more years? Not sure why everyone is entertaining the idea, the guy is going nowhere.
  16. Totally agree Gouga. 32 would be more than adequate for an outgoing player.
  17. Agree with earlier posters that this is more to do with positioning correctly than with a lack of confidence from his team mates. We play a hard, fast running game that relies on players first instincts more often, therefore they're likely to make quick decisions based on an initial view. If Watt's is not in that initial view of the ball carrier he's diminishing his chances of getting the ball. Whilst it's great that he's starting to find space in the forward, he now needs to tune this craft and work it so the ball carrier can see him. Otherwise he's destinied to be ignored for a bit longer. It is good to see him get some confidence of leading to the ball, he will be a gun, no doubting it. I also agree about his ability to track the ball well down the ground, this is a good sign that say he has the ability to work into the game, however to be a real dangerous forward he needs to his work in and around the F50.
  18. Fantastic stuff Chris. I encourage all to get onboard.
  19. Love it!! Not sure what I love more tho, the Kennett comparisons or the Buddy 'dumb @rse' call, both very accurate!
  20. Hurley was good, but Jordie was equal to him. Of his 26 touches, 17 were contested!!!! 17, that's Judd like. Also needs to be highlighted that Hurley has struggled for the most part of the season. Jordie has been super consistent, and his work ethic and commitment has been first class. Hurley has been disinterested and undisciplined for large parts of this season, yes he had a good game, but at this stage of the season Rising Star noms are more about rewarding consistent performers. Wait for Robbo to also nominate Hurley to be in the top 5 voting at the end of the year. For what it's worth, I think it should be down to either Hannebery or Rockliff both are super in the contested ball situations and clearing it, then our 2 boys. Stratton has also been good playing on key forwards.
