Fair enough question. But every draft is different, every player is different in each draft from one year to another..so I dont think players from other draft can be compared. Whilst there is more risk associated with forward line specialist I believe Marics' goal kicking ability should not be under-rated. Steve Johnson, Ryan O Keefe, Nathan Brown, Gary Ablett junior played alot of junior footy as almost solely forwards so if the recruiters do their job they should be able to snap up a talented goal sneak here who does have the ability to play half forward. I do believe however that if we picked up Palmer with our first pick then we should stay away from Maric because Palmer kicks alot of goals himself despite playing substantial time up forward.

According to the players that i have seen and heard and read and everything this is the order of who i want the most. 1/ Kreuzer 2/ Palmer 3/ Cotchin 4/ Henderson 5/ Morton 6/ Rance 7/ Ebert 8/ Rioli 9/ McEvoy 10/ Maric

all of those trades are biased. There is just no way of them happening. You can't get quality players by giving up a large quantity of unproven players. I know you cant do this..but if we offered West coast Brad Miller, Mar Jamar, Godfrey, Ward, Holland, Bizzell and Nathan Brown for Chris Judd..than the Eagles would say no...because none of those players would make WCE's starting 22 anyway...so their on field playing team is worse.

CAC i believe is a little silly for not honouring last years superdraft. We were soft in trading for picks last year and now that we have finally decided to get soume youth we wait for a bad draft to arrive. We will be lucky to find a decent play beyond pick 10 in my opinion. Just look at the 02 draft. The only decent players out of that draft were Wells, Goddard, Brennan, Salopek, McIntosh, Rivers, Simpson, Crowley, Malceski and Brad Fisher. compare that to the 2001 superdraft and the good players that came out of that included; Hodge, Ball, Judd, bartel, Dal Santo, Maguire, Steve Johnson, Campbell Brown, S.Mitchell, Montagna, Ash Hansen, Ablett Junior, Waite, Dane Swan, Schneider. In conclusion, if you are going to make the decision to top up with youngsters...DON'T pick a dud of a draft!

1. Clint Bartram- was injured all year and I think he will get back to some form that was a lot better than his debut season. I'm sure he would have bulked up alot more being on the sidelines for so long. 2. Newton: I think this is a bit dodgy putting him down..as he came out of nowhere this season. I have no doubt he will get better next season though. I would love him to kick 40 or more goals next year. 3. Yze- He will play all 22 games next year and embarass those supporters who thought he wasn't valuable.

Yet Cooney was named in the best for the bulldogs last night. You guys are so biased. Cooney is a gun player and has been in the top brownlow favourites in previous seasons. I'd be extremely surprised if Sylvia ever got to half the level of Cooney.

obviously higgins played well last night..but theres no doubt Cooney is the better player. All class. U'd be idiotic to take Higgins beore Cooney at melbourne if we were offered one of them.

Rhino Richards. Are you joking? 'Why would Geelong want White when they have Ottens, Blake and King?'. Hmm lets see...Ottens spends a lot of time up forward, Blake is crap and King will probably never get another game as he is over the hill.

i'm not sure if you have seen Mitchell Clark play before...but he would have to be the best young key position forward/ruck in the competition and I don't even think brisbane would do that deal. He is a gun.

I like ur thinking..but I think we would get more from White given that he may be the difference between a flag and no flag for clubs like west coast who would appreciate a great ruckman with Cox. I would go: Green- Symes + 3rd round draft pick bruce + Johnstone for Mitchell Clark + 5th round draft pick White- 1st round draft pick from Geelong.

I still don't know why we didnt pick up Daniel Connors. I claimed him when he was playing for Vic Country...yet he managed to slide down the draft order till about pick 50. Ridiculous. He has Hodge like qualities..and yes..I do think he will be as good.

If we get Sheedy as coach...there goes our good recruiting! Sheedy loves aboriginal draftees and picks them up willy nilly stuffing up the future. Alwyn Davey, Ryder, Lovett, Lovett-murray, Richard Cole, Dempsey, Jetta and then 2 out of the 4 on the rookie list are aboriginal. A bit worrying if you ask me. I mean some of those players are good players i'm sure...but i'm 100% sure that he's decision was influenced by what skin colourt they have. Please Sheedy, take off the blinkers and just pick the best player.

Yeh, sheedy has an over-the-top obsession with drafting indigenous players and as a results continually blinds him from picking the best players come draft day.

well campbell can kick a sherrin about 75 metres so maybe centre half forward would be good for him also.

so like one guy and thats it? Those college ballers with those kind of attributes can make it to the nba...others can earn a lot of money playing professional basketball in other countries. Many, however, will not earn much. And those guys should be targeted. And lets be honest, it's not that difficult to pick up the skills required to play our game. Richo is a prime example. I'm sure there would be hundreds of college bballers that are taller, quicker and more talent than Richo and could learn to kick a lot better. But like has been previously said, why would athletes that are taller than Dean Cox and more agile than Mcleod choose afl?...well i guess thats why you target them after they haven't been recruited to the nba or any professional leagues that pay alot. Just an idea

I'd rather chase the athletes in the States. Some of the athletes playing college ball over there have the height of Dean Cox and the agility of Andrew Mcleod.
