  1. Funny how people rate other teams hacks above our own. Bevan and Bartram have the same disposal problems...ie. can't hit the side of a barn. I'd rather have Urquhart....much more upside.
  2. A year or 2 ago i was all for trading in Jesse White too....but the gut is a hack. My brother is a Swans supporter and the support on the Swans forums isn't good....i also went to the Swans v Hawthorn prelim a couple of weeks ago and must say that the guy isn't a power forward at all. He just doesn't hit the packs/stands and watches the play. There was occasions when you could tell he was generally supprised to get the ball...then crap himself and rush a kick. He isn't the answer to our forward line. I'd be looking at Lewis Johnston, Jordan Lisle & Callum Wilson before Jesse White.
  3. Looking through the possible trade options in the age newspaper this morning i saw that they had Liam Anthony listed from North as possible trade bait. I think someone like that could fill a role in our midfield and i don't think he's been discussed on our board recently. He could provide some strength around the stoppages and he knows how to rack them up. Chris Knights from Adelaid is also another i'd be interested in. With David Misson on board i'd back us in to get recently injury prone players back on the park.
  4. Adelaide must be filthy. That's an all australian last year in Bock and now Filthy Phill Davis who was pick 10 in 2008. Both CHB's. Even if the Dees do lose Scully, I'd argue that Adelaide have had it worse. At least we'd get 2 first round draft picks. GWS gets its first AFL player: Adelaide's Phil Davis
  5. True...forgot about that one... I'd love to have Paur Roos at the Dees to instill some of that bloods culture though.
  6. I believe the last caretaker coach that made it was Paul Roos.
  7. Trust me...i'd be very happy to see that happen. Although i think the group of players that he has developed and won a flag with would be his main priority....not the club he used to play for.
  8. Why can't we have both? Haven't we moved on from our days of debt?
  9. I agree with you re. Clarkson...but i don't see why Hawthorn would move him on. He'll most likely still be the head coach of the Hawks next year.
  10. Ok, so everyone knows that Dean is gone and Viney is the caretaker for the time being. We also know that it is an experianced coach that we're after. Of the people that may be available, who would you like to coach the MFC? Malthouse is still up in the air whether or not he'll be at Collingwood next year and with Eddie talking about legal action to whoever tries to poach him, i think it'd be unlikelt that he will be coaching Melbourne next year. Although it is public knowledge that he does rate our list. Eade is a good chance if the Dogs decide to go a different path. Clarkson too, if the Hawks get rid of him. I'm not sure why they would though. Matthews i believe has been out of the game too long. Laidely, well, i was never really that impressed when he was coaching north. Roos has stated that he won't coach again. Craig i believe is a good teacher like Bailey, but we need someone with some balls. Choco is the one that for some reason i like the idea of coaching the Dees. Always liked him as a tactition and match day coach and has the balls to rip into and demand better from the players. Of those listed above i believe that Choco and Eade are the ones that are a good chance to coach the club. Everyone would love Malthouse, but i believe that this would be unlikely. Who do you guys think would be the ideal coach? Who do you think we'll likely end up with? And what do you want to see in our new senior coach?
  11. I've seen Jamar and Moloney walking aroung together a few times at Chaddy

    KPF

I agree with what you're saying, but i did see on occasions yesterday people lower their eyes and kick to a contest around 40m out where it would have been much more dangerous to kick to the top of the square to a big KPF. The ball ends up in a much more dangerous spot and if their isn't a mark their is a contest which brings our crumbers into play.

    KPF

It was quite clear yesterday that we lacked a big marking forward. When our midfielders looked up they either had no one to kick to or an out numbered medium sized green, sylvia, jurrah ect to kick to. Not only were Collingwood dominating the stoppages, they also had great merking targets to kick to in their forward line. Now, i believe that we do have a couple of players on the list that could fill this void in the future...but this will be 3 years away. We need to target a player to fill the void straight away. Now some will say this will take games and opportunity away from some of the younger kids...but i ask you this...are our kids unable to play to our game plan because we don't have all the pieces of the puzzle? I'm no expert on the lower leagues, so people, please throw up some suitable players that could play this KPF role for us till Watts, Cook, Fitzpatrick are ready to take over. I for one would love to see us target Jessie White, or to a lesser extent Fevola.
  14. I'd like to see Howe in for Dunn...hopeing he play well in the VFL today!
  15. I'd prefer to have Paul Roos. Got the most out of a list that definately wasn't the most talented. Developed a game style that suited the high stopage SCG and high pressure finals footy (unlike the free flowing silky bulldogs) Was able to identify the weaknesses in his team and trade accordingly to fill the void. I'm sure if he had the list we have, the game style would be alot different. Just because he had Sydney playing a certain way, doesn't mean he'd have Melbourne playing the same way. He'd be a excellent coach for the Dees
  16. I agree...the ball should have been brought back, there was no advantage in what occured.

    Jonesy

The thing that i'd like to add about Jones (which i don't think has been mentioned in this thread), is the fact that his style of play is perfect for finals footy. When the pressure is on it's players like jones that throw themselves in kamakazi style to win the loose ball. We've seen it for years that players like Yze or Davey struggle in finals footy and it's the tough nuts that rise to the top. Now i'm not saying that Davey can't play finals footy, but there's definately a big role for the Jonse's and Moloney's in our quest for a flag.
  18. On a posative note, did anyone see the crunching spear tackle that N.Jetta laid down in the forward line in the 2nd quarter...was pure beauty
  19. Hey everyone, Now I know this doesn't have anything to do with the Dees, but it has been very quiet around here recently and thought that this article was a good read - In picking a name, there's no horsing around I for one think that the GWS Walers would have been a great name (now knowing what it means), and believe it would have invoked great national pride that the people of NSW could have bought in to. Anyway, we all know that they are the Giants so i suppose it's a moot point really. Enjoy (apologies if this subject has already been raised)!
  20. A lot of pressure is put on Jones from supporters....some people forget he's still only 22 and has 92 games to his name.
  21. Will just have to trust i suppose.....i remember thinking who the hell is Jamie Bennell when we picked him the other year....and he turned out a great pick!
  22. i wouldn't be adverse to use the pick that we got for cheney for anthony if someone told me in trade week that we'd trade cheney for anthony i'd be pretty happy with that
  23. rookie pick or can we now have a PSD pick?
