Though I agree with youth & long term etc We also need to consider that having a player like chapman would bring positives & help install all the values to our young list,hardness,commitment,mental toughness! We are too quick to look at age etc his experience would help & build leadership!

A thread about Sully who left our club for a deal of a life time & when our footy dpt was in a mess! Carrying about booing & how they booed... really cmon! I also was very angry when I left but understood why, remember we are not the only club that lost a star/potential Lets face it we beat an u19 team, lets not forget we are 1-10,

Cant believe what Im reading! We all want tough players with aggression & Luke fits this as a hard nut! Whilst he may have gone over the top, I rather have 2 or 3 of his type over the likes of Morton! He just needs development on controlling his aggression

Unfair that he is the whipping boy but......... Bottom line is his decision making & kicking is terrible for a pik 4! His development over five years in these 2 areas has not improved & he continues to turn over the ball with no pressure. Imagine as a fwd getting passes like that after you busted your gut to get into position! Question is to the recruiters why were these flaws not identified????

Very strange? Why bring back Sylvia without him earning his stripes with Casey due to a bye? Whats he done at training that has got his form back? Both Davey & Morton whilst both deserved to be dropped have had far more disposals & impact than Sylvia? Can someone who is going to those supporter meetings ask Neeld

Mike you are running out of things to write! No doubt that we should be looking to replace CS in due course & its about good planning but to say we need sweeping changes is carzy! Our whole footy dept has had a massive injection of new support staff whos experience in a premiership environment is evident! Neeld,Mission,Brown etc all this made possible due to commercial balance sheet improvements. Throw in two new sponsors to replace that idiot who by the way 2 other sporting clubs sign too. My only question is recruitment dept do we have the right people?

Well run clubs do not lose star players most of the times, when you how look at the players at Coll,Ess even Rich who they have resigned with all this money from GWS & Suns it paints a bad picture of how bad our club has performed in the past. I think of Scott Thompson, Jolly, Scully etc all these players saw our issues within the club in terms of resources compared with other clubs plus more $$ & it was an easy decision. Why didnt Coll lose anyone to GWS?.In order to attract & retain players you need to provide stable & well resourced environments that will help in recovery & development. Maybe this is changing with the new footy dept & added resources.......lets hope so!

Very concerning to see Watts not jump for a mark in the last qtr & provide a contest..... whats his future? We continue to get smashed on clearances & contested poss Very hard to find any positives! Is it coaching? Should there be a clause in the contract that allows club & coach to part ways after 12 mths? Nothing against Neeld but what if he cant coach?

Very happy to see the Tigers who have been the whipping team in Vic & recruiting like ours very poor up till know for them! WTF our list was rated better 1-2 yrs ago & in the last 6 months we are so far behind them! They look like the play for each other & their coach, it appears on face value that Hardwick whilst hard would back his players & embrace them. Im not to sure about Neeld?? just an observation It seems that there is a disconnect between our senior players & younger ones, who is to blame?

Recruiting is not all luck, its about identifying correct talent & yes the Hawks like all teams have players who dont make, its just we continue not to get it wrong. Is Geelong lucky,or West Coast,Essendon,Coll etc......

My point is look at the current players that are at Melb vs Haw from that period & it shows how poor our recruitment was. Not taking shots stating facts! Hawks won a flag & we cant win a game!

Very sad our pick 3&5 in 03 Brock gone & cant get a game & Sylvia does not care! They should have been our leaders & Generals of the midfield along with Moloney, setting the std for Trengove, etc instead the latter is the leader! Our drafting is the cause of our current issues, comparing us against the Hawks who bottomed out & what they picked from 2000-07 approx Hawthorn hodge, Mitchell, brown,Sewell, Osborne,Lewis, buddy, roughead, young,Ellis,birchall, bailey, guerra,gilham, Cyril, whitecross, Melb Thompson gone, miller gone Jolly gone, jamar,rivers,Brock gone, Davey, Sylvia ,bate, Dunn, warnock gone,newton gone, jones, Buckley gone , batram, frawley, petered , garland, Morton, grimes, Maric gone, Cheney gone, Martin Our drafting as been very poor & we failed to recruit & build a core list of 10-12 players who are now together & are A graders when you compare to the Hawks the gap is so big & people are wishing for a flag & finals....... Not blaming current admin or footy dpt but wtf wre they doing! So what you draft now will set you up in 6-10 yrs

What do you expect the president to say Has to remain positive as they have invested people & money into the current regime, just cant sack the coach & do a 360 as they will be seen as a joke & who will want to coach us. The club need to find the Cancer & cut it out! Something is rotting with the senior players Davey has a heart size of a pea! Moloney looks like he is not interested! Sylvia is dreaming of his next bar! Green is sulking about the captaincy! It seams the senior players are not doing it for the coach or the coach has lost the players! No leadership from them! Do you sack players or the coach?

We are hurting as supporters & we want blood! But if the board does a nee jerk reaction the AFL ommunity will view us as a basket case & who will want to coaches us? Neil Craig I believe reports back to the board...... they will need to identify the cancer & I believe its with in the older playing group. My thoughts are they went too far with cutting out the senior players out of the leadership group, but maybe they were the cause of our issues in particular the 186 loss last year?? As members its hurting badly & we have had enough of being the laughing stock of the afl! Since 2006 when we played finals last we have gone backwards, the members have saved the club by the tune of 5 mill, we need answers!

Who should it Be? We are not at AFL standard! We have invested in extra coaches! New fitness specialists! Training facilities! Members have cleared the debt with 5mill in donations! So how why is the team playing far worse than last year? Are players not happy? If so drop them & never play for the MFC again! Is Neeld out of his depth? If so he should resign year end without paying out his contract! This is damaging the brand & its a disgrace!

I havent read all the article, but am I right in saying that this idiot is saying that just because we are not under 1 roof & the admin is 400 meters away appox is the reason why we are playing so poorly? Get real, we played in a GF & 6 final series Under Daniher & trained at the Junction oval & didnt have access to it for pre season & training all over melb, no money club was broke, board was split et etc

When times are tough for a footy club you call on your leaders to take control during the game & convey the message of the coach. They are should be looked up by the younger players & to follow their lead, currently it appears that we are relying on two 21yo to drive this??? Below are the captains gone before all experienced players who done a long tough apprenticeship, ones who would go into battle with. Neeld what were you thinking??? Good to have the faith! I followed since the 70s as a young boy & they were dark days, saw great times in the late 80s & should won a flag with Northey, Balmey had the best goal to goal line up but only 1 finals series, Daniher how we played in 6 final series & a GF with no training facilities & no money, board issues etc goes to show u if the attitude & effort is there! I can say that this is the worst performing list in my lifetime & with no leaders on field, even when we had poor years in the past we had good leaders, Neitz,Viney,Stynes,Lyon,Flower,Healy,Alves, Wells, Ditterich

There are enough experience coaches from successful backgrounds at the club currently! At what stage do we question that we may have the wrong players at the club.
