  1. If we, fromt this far outside the bubble think Pert might be part of the problem, I wonder what those much closer but not in the inner sanctum think? Jones, Lyon, Shwarz, Neitz, Hopgood, to name a few.
  2. Agree. Though Speed also said Brendon Gale was involved at Richmond and it was successful. I love when Speed suggested Green should have (or still could) ask for "a month to get things sorted" and hopefully get the media off our backs for a bit.
  3. He also acknowledged that Roffey made an interesting decision to go on Whately's show knowing the gap that existed between her and the Petracca's accompanied by the quote, "a president needs to be involved in a crisis..."
  4. I hope Pert and Green were listening
  5. Great listen, thanks for sharing
  6. Hopefully this review will finally put a line in the Shand!
  7. Don't mind that either, but if Jeffo comes on someone will need to make way
  8. The benefit of Membrey is he's actually a forward. Petty and Turner are both backmen being retooled. They have shown glimpses and may get there but are not natural forwards. If Jefferson comes on, a combination of JVR, Jefferson and Membrey with Fritsch, Pickett and Chandler could be something. Petty and Disco can settle in the backline easy enough.
  9. Over 65% accuracy full career. Pretty robust too, 17+ games per season 2016 - 2024 (except 2023)
  10. Membrey worth a shot. Tough and that goal kicking accuracy (assuming his career stats align) would be very welcome.
  11. Agree. We'd recruited half a dozen blokes in their prime on big money/long terms deals before the flag, then had marquee premiership players to contract long term after. We just haven't didn't have the cap space 2022/23 to bring in big names on big money. We were forced to moneyball it. FWIW I actually thought Hunter was pretty good in 22 and not terrible for the first half of 23.
  12. plus, Pickett 23 & 24? Petty in 23? Grundy to us in 22? That's just related to our club in the last 2 years, heaps of other examples of (big name) contracted players being courted elsewhere. We've tried with Tom Lynch at least once too
  13. Wouldn't that be likely to injure him? We should get the bloke that can throw the house!
  14. Do they need to be OOC? Doesn't seem to matter when other clubs come at our blokes...
  15. Very little sadly. The Social Media age has degraded journalism to a gutter profession. (Some) Lawyers get a bad wrap for being ambulance chasers, Journalism in the 2020s has taken it to a whole other level.
  16. Agree Mach5. An in principle agreement was reached weeks back. ANB did us a favour declaring SA in the event PA might have a sniff and drive the price up attached, potential win for club and player. PA didn't enter the race, declared Adelaide and move on. We've no doubt got othe rmatters to deal with and that pick 25 (or whatever package we've negotiated) might unlock currency for other winning moves.
  17. Can't really see how you'd leave the CEO out of a review TBH. The governance structure would be interesting. You'd think the CEO would be the sponsor and not an active participant. I can imagine these reviews can get sticky if the CEO tries to control the narrative to protect the horse called self interest. I'd hope Pert isn't that type of CEO.
  18. Hate's a strong word. Perhaps it comes across that way in some posts. No hate from me but definitely some disappointments. Seemingly little progress with our home base project Very little influence upon the media/ability to control a narrative The club leaks like a collander which has resulted in us getting roasted mercilessly by the media, over an over Club communications possibly worst in the league Spent a lot of time defending the culture/denying a culture problem - I am sure he's invested considerable time trying to improve the culture, thought it's not obvious how/where or if it's helped!
  19. No to Daniel for me. Jake could yet improve, Caleb almost certainly will not. Personally I wouldn't mind if they tried Jake as a forward, either close to goal or high HF/3rd winger like they tried with Billings.
  20. Wow, simply disgusting. How many weeks did he get for that? 3+ I hope...
  21. Agree. I suspect an in principle agreement was made before the announcement. Saying SA initially, vs just Crows was setting out some burley to see if PA might chip in with an offer, perhaps tied to Houston. Once PA didn't have a decent sniff ANB declared the Crows. Class act ANB and well managed by the Dees, honoured a favorite son and avoided unecessary drama (pleasingly)
  22. Nice, some additional scope items Governance, board and operations Delivery of home base Media relations & leaks (verbal/written, not toileting)
  23. I'm with you BBP, it also rewards teams in form at the pointy end and makes it harder for teams in the bottom half of the 8 limp into finals, like the Blues did this year.
  24. If Jeff White's son chooses GC over us we've really **** the bed
  25. A DB return could be a thing that appeased Trac...as I add 2 and 2 to get 5 just like every self respecting journalist in 2024
