The only way Bizz won't be at Melbourne next year is if he is bundled in a big trade as filler. Has smashed expectations this season but may struggle to get a game with a full list to choose from.

Fevola - a challenge for the new coach?
Dee*ceiving replied to Pinball Wizard's topic in Melbourne Demons
Fev will be fine in a winning team. Its after they lose a few in a row that he loses the plot. If he went to WCE he would kick more than 100 goals and his attitude would be terrific. If he came to Melbourne and we lost our first 3 games again laske this year and last he would be useless for the rest of the year. -
I agree but before the circle he was THE most important player....If not top 3

Is this the END for our best captain ever
Dee*ceiving replied to GUTS_N_GLORY's topic in Melbourne Demons
Have we ever seen a classy or well managed coach replacement? ever? Neita was just emotionally crushed by the last week or so, he lost his coach and mate of 10 years, shouldn't have played due to injury, ran himself in to the ground trying to get his team over the line one last time for Neale and missed out by 2 points. He disagreed with Gardner's method and let it be known. They will get over it and Neita will have a couple weeks off before coming back for his 300th and leading the team once again like the champion he is in 2008 -
Get me Bluey or Vossy. A tough guy with a fiery red nut is what this mob needs

Brock McLean never looks slow, occassionally slow looks Brock McLean

The cicle has f****d him

Agree with all the comments so far. I also had a drunken tear after the game. How can anything be so cruel. If ever we were owed a win it was last night, and they just couldn't get over the line. Emotionally destroying

Surely we are not that stupid?!?!
Dee*ceiving replied to The Backyard Charizard's topic in Melbourne Demons
Great point. I think if you take Vossy you sign him to a 5 year deal and be prepared for a couple of lean years or the odd bad loss as he learns his trade. However you can be confident that if he can mould half a dozen young players to be like him they could be enough to carry you to a premiership in 3-5 years time. -
A year to run on his contract, he'll be back next year. where else is he going to make $400 grand in a year. He deserves another year on the list after all those years of service, he just has to earn a game.

Telstra Dome Friday Night - Are you going?
Dee*ceiving replied to Bring-Back-Powell's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'll be there but as suggested if Rama plays we have no hope whatsoever, Typical -
I think he may still of led us for possessions. Of course only 7% were effective I agree somewhat Bobby. The fact is that Bruce has been in our best players more often than anyone else in the last 5 years. That would suggest he is our best and most consistent player. Whether he stacks up as such amongst the rest of the competitions elite is a a damning fact against the club and not the player IMO. If he was able to settle in 1 position and had 2 or 3 other players of superior skill he would probably be of even more value to us. The fact is he is not Chris Judd or James Hird or Nathan Buckley and I am willing to be he is not being paid as such. He is a good player and what we have, I doubt trading him will improve us dramatically if at all unless another club gets sucked in completely

Schwartz is a very bitter man still!
Dee*ceiving replied to re draft molan's topic in Melbourne Demons
Disagree there I think Danners has given his all to the club, regardless of whether he can coach or not. You can see in his face and hear in his voice how much his heart bleeds for the club and its supporters following a dispicable loss like that. I love the OX too and he gave the club plenty but no more that what Neale has. It is still time for him to move on however. -
Good question Smithee but as Deanox said I doubt they would have purchased had they known a pokie license was not possible. Having said that the laws change all the time and if they re-apply in 6 months it will probably be granted. Also what are you trying to say? People in Broady are 70% more likely to admit that have been reamed by a large bearded man in arseless chaps??? No kiddin' Spirit. And if you add to that the 15-20K MCC members that follow the demons our % would increase by another 30 to 40%. IMHO the facts suggest this survey is worthless. Bloody funny though

Byron is an impact player, 15 to 20 minutes a qtr should be all the FD expects of him and if on song that should be all he needs to have significant impact on a game. Thats not too say he isn't required to achieve a certain level of fitness he does but I wouldn't be concerned if he is blowing his guts out at the end of a qtr because he is spent, that just needs to be recognised and his work level monitored closely to ensure we get the most out of him for the longest time possible.

Definitely, he doesnt panic on the last line which is a huge plus for a young defender. This has been a criticism of Wheatley in the past and is a strong example of why Bell can play as a defensive stopper where as Wheatley can't despite them having similar bodies/attrubutes
-
HBF would be a good possie for Bell but i do like the look of him as a stopper on an dangerous opposing forward. He has a strong body, good pace to go with a leading type and decent overhead. This year he has stuck close to his opponent too, whereas last year he would often get lost. His kicking penetration also means if his opponents start to cheat off him they can get hurt badly on the rebound should their gamble not pay off. This will become even more damaging as his accuracy and decision making improves. He has has a few oppurtunites to nail goals on the run this year and has missed them.

Agree, I upset a few Tiges supporters at work with that one yesterday. Funny stuff. I think the club would agree this is an issue of concern hence their entry into the chinese market. in a country of a 1 billion people even if we can only get 0.1% to spend $10 a year on MFC related products, my maths is crap, but I am pretty sure that would be a heck of a lot of money. However I doubt a poll with questions such as have you shopped at forges or been reamed by a large bearded man wearing leather chaps with the arse cut out would be the advice triggering MFC's move into china
-
Would people think Holland would be likely to miss out? Would Richo be too mobile for big Dutch. If so I can't see another match up for him and would suggest Miller may need to come in to facilitate big man coverage at both ends
-
Correct Condemned Bell has lifted tremedously and would be top 3 for sure in the B&F. May have polled brownlow votes against the Crows and would have gone close again against the Pies

Just because you look good or better doesn't mean you are at peak fitness Correctamundo

Ala Chuck Norris and the Cougar when Brock McLean goes for a swim he doesn't get wet, the water gets Brock McLeaned

Dwindling supporter numbers may be a legitimate worry but personally I don't rate this survey as worth a pinch of [censored]

I was courted to be a doggies supporter furiously as a toddler by my 3 uncles on my mothers side. Bribed with several gifts such as a beanie, scarf, mascot and jumper everyone was certain they had me signed sealed and delivered. However for whatever reason at about 4 years of age when surrounded by all the family (dressed in full doggies regalia) and asked to tell everyone which team I barracked for I sheepishly declared the Demons! Dad followed the Demons although not really passionately, I guess he had my ear better than anyone at that age, as should be the case. I really don't know why i chose them, it was probably just the beginnings of me becoming the infuriatingly frustrating smartarse that I am today, always wanting to challenge conformity. Having said that, although I would die before changing and disown football altogether before disowning the Demons, its safe to say the last 26 years have been somewhat frustrating as a supporter. But I wouldn't swap it for anything. Now that I am coming to a stage in life where having kids of my own is a possibility I think I will have a different attitude to my Dad all those years ago. Where he felt slow and steady wins the race I will have a simple rule in my house. You don't have to be like dad and follow the Demons. But be aware that should you choose to follow another team you had best be prepared to find somewhere else to live. Go DEES & keep these stories coming.

Because Nick Sautner isn't on the list!
