Hardly in the spirit of the thread, I thought Grimes/Cheney's kicking was quite good. Miller I thought was admirable, he played to the best of his ability and in a list such as ours he is an important player. Morton was in the best on afl.com. I won't try and defend Newton.

Sylvia was terrible today, and I had expected a lot better but.... If today was the day for you that you decided that Sylvia was no good then I have to ask, why didn't you see it earlier? Surely a NAB cup game cannot be such a defining game in a player's career? Also I get thi feeling that if the rest of the team got better around him, then he would be in our best. Can we afford to have a player like that? I suppose he has a year to prove himself, and we have a year to adjust our expectations on him.

Not great news, I thought we were having a Good pre season injury wise. This and Rivers.... it does not bode well.

It would be interesting to see which players from last year's draft would have been pushed to next year with the new eligibility date. Jack Watts would be 1 I would think. I do remember talking about this once before on demonland, you might try searching the threads here, may or may not be worth the trouble.

They are the best kind of rumours. A good one though and a damn good effort if true.

And further to that, the media needs to start paying attention to it, until now there has been very little made of these issues. IF it is going on (you would be naive to think otherwise) it must be stopped, noise needs to be made about it, the AFL must deliver a level playing field.

I disagree, I think we can probably have one more bad season without losing the club to merger/move. One more on top of that probably would see the end of us.

Serviceable at best, probably in our best 22, but only just. Probably won't win a premiership with players of this quality in your best 22.

Good point. I wonder how far he would have slipped if he did the injury pre-draft. Still looking forward to seeing him play.

Would prefer to see Davey in ahead of/as well as Moloney. I have no doubt there are quite a few young players who look to him for guidance, and making his position more official could only help in that regard.

CJ is a sook, ungrateful and deserves his new club as much as his new club deserves him. The deal we offered was good, it was the right move considering the player. DB didn't handle the situation at all well, clearly let his passion get the better of him and the whole event will have a negative effect on the playing group, particularly those who are his closest friends.
