The difference between Rich and both Trengove and Scully is that Rich has an unbelievable physique. He has such a huge amount of muscle bulked onto his frame for an 18/19 year old, that even people who train 10 years might struggle to achieve. He is just lucky that his body has the genes to easily put on muscle. Morton on the other hand, has a body type that really struggles to put on muscle. He'd have to eat a horse to put on any weight.

Has "russell robertson "announced his retirement. ?

Ok, whilst trying to listen to what's going on in a game ain't 3AW's or Rex's forte, i still find it very entertaining sitting down on a Saturday arvo listening to him and the crew. I was quite disappointed when the station took away "listen to the fans". I know i'm in the minority here, but enjoy listening to him and his trademark sayings. I particularly enjoy when the fat lady comes into the box "Good aftanoooooooooooooon". She cracks me up every time. -
Yes, he is from Perth

Gee, i don't know.................................maybe win a premiership! -
He's one of our few good kicks in the team, and we desperately require players with the skills he possesses, so no.

The next untainted draft will be in 2013

If Jack Viney continues to go on the same path he's on, he ight well be one of the best prospects eligble to be drafted in his year. Would gladly give up a first rounder for him. Haven't really heard much about Steven Stretch;'s son, and just a bit about Balls' boy. -
I know, the nerve the clubs and recruiters have. These kids are going to end up getting around $150,000 in their first few years, if they want a player with a decent kick, then the price ought to be jacked up to a base salary of $300,000.

SANFL report on some young draft hopefuls

Panos is a more traditional FF, whereas Carlisle seems to play the role of a CHF. What advantages do you think Carlisle has over Panos, Enforcer? As you say Carlisle excites you. In what way? Is it because he is quite new to the game of AFL and see huge upside and potential, or? -
If he is able to control the occasional brain snaps he has, then he is as good a candidate as any.

Russell Robertson MUST be signed

Robbo has been a fantastic servant of the club, however, i feel that his time at the Dees is up. He is now starting to play bad or nothing games more than good ones. It's always good to retire on your terms, not when the game has passed you by. Him and Junior would leave on a high note, should they both retire at seasons end. Although Macca has been very good recently, i feel his time is up as well. -
Don't worry, Bails knows what he's doing. We ain't gonna beat St.Kilda and Carlton should be desperate to get into the top 4.

What a game by the boys!!! Jurrah just continues to do things that only Jurrah can, what a goal (and a great speccie by Robbo too). As for the umpires, they were absolutely shocking, particularly #22. Just before the bounce it was wet, cold and windy. But after half time it was actually very nice. Sunny and warm with little breeze to speak of. As for the crowd, 13,004 is a very weak effort, even given the weather this morning. It was a game in which everyone knew Melbourne could, should and wanted to win. For those that did turn up, we were well rewarded with probably our best football of the year, minus the start. For those who didn't rock up, where they could have, or because the weather was not right, for shame. What today revealed was that there are very few true loyal Melbourne supporters that stick with the club no matter what. Everyone played their part today, even Paul Johnson. A great day in which all 4 seasons where on display as well as the future of our club. It revealed who should really be wooden spooners, but we will take picks 1&2, thank you very much Mr Demetriou.

I would've thought it would be the most famous at our club, and the current #31 does not do it/him justice. -
Surprised PJ 1st ruck. Would like to see a bench of Jamar, McLean, McKenzie and McNamara.

Really??? i thought he was involved in imports/exports -
Of the Tall forwards that will probably there at our pick 18, the most likely would be Jake Carlisle, but hopefully Panos will also be available. Panos has a very good set shot on him and a build that could see him become a silverback gorilla.
-
That's SA's way of trying to hide him from the rest of the AFL so one of Port or Adelaide can pick him up, so he must be good
-
For that hack, i'd give maybe half of a peanut. All he has going for him is height.
-
Nah, i'm not a fan of Marty's. I'd prefer to keep the rugged Miller than get that Squib.

Congratulations MFC - we're truly on the way back

Going through the coaches one by one. Bailey - I like what he is doing, he knew the task was going to be tough, but he didn't mope around, he got straight into it. He also couldn't give a stuff what the outside world thought of what he is doing and how he is doing it. He knows he only answers to the hierarchy of Jimmy and Co, one in which i have the utmost respect for. He displayed his vision to Jim during the process of finding a new coach and the big fella was rapt, so Bailey is more likely than not, to be onto a good thing. Jury is still out, but i guess it will be how the team goes over the next year or so, where we will see if Bailey has got what it takes. Wellman - Our backline has never been seen as the rock of our team throughout my entire life, more so the achilles heel. It has now become a backline that doesn't scream elite (although one Jack Grimes might have something to say about that), but will get the job done. All that is needed. Huge ticks for Wellman here. West - A champion player fresh out of the game. Can only influence our midfield in a positive way. Hopefully will get a full-time assistants role as mid-field coach (if he hasn't already). German - North have him short-listed for their coaching position, Enough said. Fantastic edition to our group of coaches. Mahoney - We arrive to it at last. This guy needs to be given the arse. Our forward line has not been functioning well at all for the past 2 seasons. Jurrah is not going to save Mahoney from the axe. Heard a whisper that we might be interested in John Barker (former hawthorn player) as our forward coach. -
He can be our donation to the GC.

OK i knew someone was going to inquire about Spencer. My reasoning for this is because he is not tough enough, can't kick or handball, is slow around the grounds and he has no instincts for the game of AFL. Sure he's a young KPP from QLD, but seriously, there needs to be at least some talent and skill at kicking the football, he has none as far as i'm concerned. Development coaches can change a technique to kick the ball longer or with more penetration, but they can't teach a fella how to kick, they must be able to do that before arriving at the club. All Spencer has is height, and IMO will not make it as an AFL player, that's just my opinion. Buckley's disposal is questionable at best. Sure he has pace, but too often he gets it and runs into trouble, turns it over or just doesn't know what to do with it so he just kicks in hope. As for Bartram, his disposal is also very questionable and Bennell has overtaken him in the back pocket role by a fair margin. Dunn is a better run with player as well IMO. There, my reasoning for all 3. I just don't rate them as highly as others. They aren't all going to get cut, as i listed 11 potential players that could.
-
You are kidding right? can't find 5-7 players to get rid of??? There is a reason why we are last on the ladder. Off the top of my head players like Bartram, Bell, Buckley, Johnson, McDonald (retire), Miller, Newton, Robertson, Spencer, Wheatley and Whelan (retire) will consider themselves lucky to be on our list next year. There's 11 right there and Valenti should be promoted from the rookie list. There's still a lot of old and dead wood that needs to be shipped out before we become more than an average side, as we can't afford to have too many passengers on our list. All of the above, besides the proposed retirees are just that. That is still a quarter of our entire list that is not up to scratch.
