  1. The carry over points may get him suspended. 50/50 IMO.
  2. Disappointing to see Valenti miss again. Must say, I don't think Bode has been as bad as Demonland makes out....
  3. I haven't read the HS today, but if he was named in the best I would be astonished! I will say this up front, I think Cale should be a future star for us, I think he should stay in the senior side, I think young players are bound to have ups and downs. BUT I think his turnovers were THE major turning points of the game. His 1%'s were nothing more than should be expected from a senior player. I accept this knowing what he is, and hopefully what he will become. Thats my opinion, yours is he was one of the best. Fair enough. Generally I think most people on this forum are on the same page with Morton. 99% positive. Oh, and for the record I've never logged onto Supercoach or Big Footy (?) in my life!
  4. Good point. It's not a popularity contest, it's someone you want to lead you into war! I spoke to Green about the captaincy at the 150th dinner, he didn't exactly say so, but I got the impression he is really hungry for it. He's sure playing like it.
  5. Love him. Gun player over a long time frame. Hope he wins Charlie! Also gets thrown out of a night club and no-one gives a [censored] - "Ah good old Richo".
  6. SEN were all over it this morning.
  7. OMFG were you at the game today?????? And before you carry on, I said many posts ago he should stay in the seniors.... Oh and I'm still trying to find where people are knocking him....
  8. Nathan Brown for a bit that I noticed.
  9. Gouga I could handle that.
  10. Who's knocking him? He was worst on ground today, you get that sometimes. I think everyone is unanimous in his long term prospects.
  11. Should be captain NOW! Full stop.
  12. Meh, after 30+ years losing becomes a bit old.
  13. Our momentum hit a brick wall 4 times. Bruce responsible once, and Morton 3 times. He had a shocker today, and in any normal team he would be dropped for sure this week, but unless his confidence is being shattered (he is getting a lot of the ball), what have we got to lose giving him some game time with the best in the business? Surely this can only help fast track him?
  14. It is the worst time slot of them all. Also, why are 2 MCG tenants playing at Telstra Dome?
  15. Joeboy your comments this week are spot on IMO. Bartram: 6 Bate: 4 Bode: 3 Bruce: 6.5 (Grrr at the missed goal!) Davey: 4 Dunn: 5.5 Frawley: 1 Garland: 8 Green: 7.5 (Great leader) C. Johnson: 6 P. Johnson: 7 Jones: 6 McDonald: 5 McLean: 8 Miller: 7.5 Morton: 0 (Match turning performance) Sylvia: 4.5 Warnock: 6.5 Wheatley: 8.5 White: 3 Yze: 3.5 Wonaeamirri: 3 Edit: Just want to say the crowd was a disgrace. About 100 in the cheer squad, and about another 900 scattered around the ground, versus 26,000 Tigers supporters....
  16. That's what I was saying to myself the whole way home re the Morton disaster today....
  17. I agree. Also one bad Sandy game doesn't make him a [censored] footballer. He is not bad going back the other way, he is a great mark in defense and in 06/07 was regularly having 20+ possession games. He may not be in our best 22 right now for various reasons, and will never be the "quarterback" style rebounder, but fast forward one or two seasons when hopefully we are making a charge and he could be a very valuable experienced depth player. Any more comments on Bell's game from those who saw the game?
  18. A mates email response to the time keeping article: As Adrian Anderson would say " what you have to ask yourself is was the clock actually stopped...because by definition a clock should not be stopped but in fact keeping the time. Therefore was it actually a "clock" in the true legal definition and should the AFL be responsible under common law if time actually stands still on it's own. Having said that we will stand down the volunteers who do this function and commence a comprehensive review about whether time did actually stand still, and if clocks by definition can still be called a clock if they are in fact not performing the intended function of a clock...in the true legal sense of the word" I heard the AFL is considering a range of procedural changes including implementing a series of post-it notes whereby the umpire will scribe on a post-it note precisely the time that he has stopped play, relay this via a 4th, 5th and 6th umpire on the field. Each of the field umpires will have a shadow Time Umpire, in a different strip to make sure players don't confuse the Field umpires with the Time Umpires, who's only function will be to record the time and duration of the stoppage on the post it note, then hand it to 7th, 8th, and 9th official who will be barcoded, photographed, and ID checked before exiting the ground via a special interchange scanning facility up the race to official time keepers, who in return will scribe on another post-it note back to the umpire verifying the correct stoppage is recorded. Any mistakes whether intentional or otherwise will be reviewed by a special match review tribunal where offenders will be awarded a series of demerit points based on the severity, previous history of volunteer work, quality of handwriting on the post-it notes, and impact whether potential or realised on the outcome of the game. For example the time keepers error on Queens birthday did impact the result therefore he will be awarded 43.5 demerit points that will carry over for the next infringement. Where as the error in the Sydney West Coast game, despite not actually influencing the result, the tribunal would find that it potentially it could have and providing the offender did not have any prior convictions for crimes against humanity he or she may get away with 8-10 seasons without time keeping voluntarily. The AFL confirmed they think this is the best way to ensure consistency in their treatment of volunteer time keepers. The AFL went on to say that they fully support Adrian Anderson and believe his measures are for the betterment of the game.
  19. He strikes again. AA assured us all he had solved this problem with his improved policies and procedures... http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/afl...1-19769,00.html
  20. An idiot interviewing him. "You (Neitz) were never going to win that (2000) GF. Even you must have thought that heading into the game?"
  21. You da man!! Thanks. http://www.sen.com.au/index.php?sectionID=...mp;pageID=10033
  22. He's too young to be written off due to constant injury IMO. As RR said, his contract terms will be more negotiable now. Semi-related note: Someone said he grew up supporting Melbourne (I didn't know that). At the 150 dinner Saturday night he looked like a kid in a candy store around all the ex-players, getting autographs etc. Get well soon Beamer!
  23. I think he is going senile! His comments on Footy Classified last night smacked of disrespect!
  24. Good call. I told him the same thing Saturday night too!
  25. From what I could see it was words along those lines. Pricks! Anyone get a close look at the fight in the MCC members?
