  1. For every Ricky Petterd or Brent Moloney that appeared to have spat the dummy on exit, there's a Nathan Jones, Jack Grimes and Mitch Clark who appear to have complete "buy in" and are giving it everything to make it work. Even if you may not agree with giving Jamar three years, the fact that he wanted that in the face of all that is going on at the club as well as plenty of outside interest says that not everybody has cracked the sads. It can be nerve wracking to hear that there are dummy spits, but I'm hopeful and reasonably confident that it's only personalities we don't want making all the noises.
  2. Our defensive 50 at the end of the year had Lynden Dunn and Joel Macdonald in it. There are spots ripe for the picking if he's good enough.
  3. I get the feeling Blease and Gysberts were in the same boat at the start of the year. One appears to have busted a nut to improve and the other one didn't. No surprises which one is being discussed as a potential candidate for an early exit. Don't care one way or the other about the specific trade, but I'll love the symbolism if Neeld re-homes Gysberts.
  4. I find it funny that people are having a whinge that Neeld couldn't get the best out of Ricky. How about Ricky gets the best out of Ricky? Given that he couldn't cement a spot under at least 2 different coaches when plenty of others did, surely the player has to take responsibility for his own shortcomings eventually.
  5. lol. If you believe this you will literally believe anything in the silly season.
  6. I think he's gone, but I've never seen him play so I'm completely unqualified; just going on gut feeling. Happy to take on board the view of KC and those who have seen him play. What happens with Rivers could be the difference.
  7. Poor old Rick was asked to play in a position that suited his skill set and that he was recruited to play in? He played what I reckon had to be the worst 4 senior games imaginable this year. Playing on the half forward line didn't seem to be a tale of woe last year or the year before and our mids were rubbish then too. If he can't play in the role we need him for, I don't see the point in wasting time and effort stuffing about trying him in other spots. On which "numerous" occasions did he show he could play? I reckon of his 54 games not more than one in 5 of them would have been "par". It's embarassing for Petterd that he's been shown the door while we're still debating whether or not to keep Dunn. That speaks volumes about where he's at. As far as I'm concerned, he's just another ordinary NQR that has been sent packing. Definitely no lost sleep here.
  8. Headline: delisted player not a fan of coach. Amazing stuff.
  9. 5 clubs not represented: Melbourne, GWS, Port, Bulldogs, Brisbane.
  10. WHY AREN'T ANY MELBOURNE PLAYERS IN TH....oh.
  11. If Magner finishes in the top 10 I'll <insert idle threat here>. I reckon he's hanging on by the skin of his teeth for a second year on the rookie list.
  12. Presumably Liam will remember to nominate for the ND this time
  13. The "Moloney made Cook cry" is a complete myth that has been falsly perpetuated based on the misconstrued observations of one guy from the opposite side of the ground, two years ago. I really wish we'd stop saying this bullsheet as if it is indisputable fact. If you read the report that this all stemmed from, it was Troy Davis that Moloney abused and spat at for a start. That's hardly what I'd call commendable leadership.
  14. Great post binman, your view mirrors mine almost 100%.
  15. Another free agent, I'm hoping. If not, I'm not familiar with the formula so I don't know. (What a cop out Nasher! Booo! You suck!)
  16. What makes you say we're losing him for nothing? FA = compensation.
  17. I bloody hope not. Can't someone keep their first number and build some damn history in it for once? 38 is Jeremy Howe.
  18. Really? We've got no answer for Cotchin, but other than he, Riewoldt and Martin, I think the Richmond list looks bog ordinary.
  19. If you like, bb, but I'm not annoyed. And as time is passing, the disappointment is passing and the relief is kicking in. The last two (pre-)seasons have been filled with horrible distractions - Scully, Jurrah, EnergyWatch, all this shite. In my mind this was destined to be another one with the Jurrah court case looming. As I said, I held out no hope that there was a good outcome for the MFC for this anyway - worst case he went to jail, best case he joined the club already well in to the season post trial, and how long though till the next family disaster? For me, this is a burden lifted. In 2013, we might actually get to focus on footy first for the first time in a couple of years. I bloody hope so, anyway.
  20. It's a conspiracy theory, Rover. It's you believing the worst possible scenario of betrayal as usual. Have you been hurt a lot by people in your life? I would be absolutely livid if Jurrah went to Collingwood. If that happens I'd feel genuinely burnt. I don't believe that will happen, though. (I believe in Liam?)
  21. I just feel like it's one thing we don't have to spend 6 months worrying about now. I'd all but given up hope of a good outcome anyway - I saw it as a long and drawn out car crash still in the process of happening for our club.
  22. Am I the only one who feels a sense of relief along with the disappointment?
  23. http://demonland.com...t-moloney-gone/
  24. Trengove will be where you've got McDonald. Despite the outrageously over the top criticism of him around these parts, he's had a good year and the FD are big fans of his. Other than that I agree, and I struggled to come up with any more names as well. Jones will win for mine, but I don't know what order the other 4 will be in. As good as Clark was I'd be surprised if he was in the top 3 after missing such a large amount of the season.
