  1. Seems laughable now doesn't it? Worth every cent. Clark has proven to be a much better player than I thought when we got him, and strong leadership and work ethic seem to be part of his makeup. Still can't believe our luck.
  2. To you it's not a rumour because you've got some information that you believe fact. For us, it's a rumour, because it comes from someone who calls himself "Allen Jakovich", who posted it anonymously without us having any way to verify the information. This is precisely how rumours start.
  3. Come to think of it, Luke Williams probably was a better player than Cook. Damn, when did that bar get so low?!
  4. I think that's a cryptic way of saying the same thing I've heard. His body is stuffed and there's question marks over whether he'll be up to it for much longer. If that were the case, who'd blame him for wanting to eek out a year at a top club to try and pinch a flag before he metaphorically dies? I wouldn't.
  5. Wow. Rover is still tedious and repetitive. You sure you're not Ron from 'ology RR? If not, you're the second biggest self-fan I've ever seen on footy forums. Being right is very important to you, isn't it?
  6. Morton was one of the last players drafted by Cameron.
  7. He's 26 and has been in the system on and off since 2004. He's the avatar for players stuck between levels.
  8. Yes, nonetheless Clint's post focused on the high number of uncontested possessions as if that were the problem.
  9. I think the bigger problem has been taking rubbish skinny kids.
  10. Indeed. If you follow the logic of that post all the way to conclusion you get "clubs will give us a late first round pick for a lazy player with a terrible kick".
  11. I still maintain there's a need for players able to rack up high numbers of uncontested posessions.
  12. I think there's less chance of them seeing him as a player who will slot in and kick 40 goals, and more chance they'll see him as a terrible kick who is lazy as hell.
  13. Does SNF have any journalists other than Kimbo? Nobody has a record of reporting rumours as fact like this guy. I love this last paragraph: Pearce is originally from Sturt in the strong SANFL and is believed to be on Melbourne’s shopping list as a free-wheeling and high sweeping forward as the Demons prepare for what is expected to be a substantial of their struggling player list. A substantial what of our playing list? I'm not sure 'substantial' is a verb.
  14. Thanks for the reminder that Range Rover's posts were as tedious and repetitve in early 2011 as they are in late 2012.
  15. What does this mean? Surely setting the playing standard and turfing out those who don't meet it is part of "coaching"?!
  16. Good post nutbean. It's the lack of grey area that resonates with me - it seems from these early tasters that it's black and white whether you reached the standard or not with very few ifs and buts. What happens with Gysberts will be instructive. I'm itching to find out.
  17. I hope so Wilkes is borderline AFL quality at best. JJC must've only seen him the games he played against us.
  18. For every Ricky Petterd or Brent Moloney that appeared to have spat the dummy on exit, there's a Nathan Jones, Jack Grimes and Mitch Clark who appear to have complete "buy in" and are giving it everything to make it work. Even if you may not agree with giving Jamar three years, the fact that he wanted that in the face of all that is going on at the club as well as plenty of outside interest says that not everybody has cracked the sads. It can be nerve wracking to hear that there are dummy spits, but I'm hopeful and reasonably confident that it's only personalities we don't want making all the noises.
  19. Our defensive 50 at the end of the year had Lynden Dunn and Joel Macdonald in it. There are spots ripe for the picking if he's good enough.
  20. I get the feeling Blease and Gysberts were in the same boat at the start of the year. One appears to have busted a nut to improve and the other one didn't. No surprises which one is being discussed as a potential candidate for an early exit. Don't care one way or the other about the specific trade, but I'll love the symbolism if Neeld re-homes Gysberts.
  21. I find it funny that people are having a whinge that Neeld couldn't get the best out of Ricky. How about Ricky gets the best out of Ricky? Given that he couldn't cement a spot under at least 2 different coaches when plenty of others did, surely the player has to take responsibility for his own shortcomings eventually.
  22. lol. If you believe this you will literally believe anything in the silly season.
  23. I think he's gone, but I've never seen him play so I'm completely unqualified; just going on gut feeling. Happy to take on board the view of KC and those who have seen him play. What happens with Rivers could be the difference.
  24. Poor old Rick was asked to play in a position that suited his skill set and that he was recruited to play in? He played what I reckon had to be the worst 4 senior games imaginable this year. Playing on the half forward line didn't seem to be a tale of woe last year or the year before and our mids were rubbish then too. If he can't play in the role we need him for, I don't see the point in wasting time and effort stuffing about trying him in other spots. On which "numerous" occasions did he show he could play? I reckon of his 54 games not more than one in 5 of them would have been "par". It's embarassing for Petterd that he's been shown the door while we're still debating whether or not to keep Dunn. That speaks volumes about where he's at. As far as I'm concerned, he's just another ordinary NQR that has been sent packing. Definitely no lost sleep here.
  25. Headline: delisted player not a fan of coach. Amazing stuff.
