I fell asleep on the couch with about 5 to go in the third quarter, woke up at the end, and not a single goal was kicked in between. Seems like my body just knew the right moment.

Best result would be a giant sinkhole forming in the middle of the G and swallowing both clubs whole. Iā€™m going for that. Carn the sinkholes.
  3. All the talk is of Turner covering Petty. Any chance Turner plays ahead of Tomlinson if Petty is okay? Tommo has looked way off the pace to me.
  4. Iā€™ve abided by the ā€œif you donā€™t have anything nice to sayā€¦ā€ rule so far in relation to the behaviour of Melksham and May. I do have something nice to say now, and thatā€™s thank goodness we have our captain. He shoes true leadership, and his method of delivering the message is authentic and believable. Great stuff Max.
  5. I reckon youā€™re out by about a decade - itā€™ll be the under 30s under-represented. I installed this forum software two days before my 22nd birthday and this type of forum was very popular then, so I suspect there are a lot of posters in their mid-late 30s (like me) kicking around.
  6. Dang. Weid and the Brown Bros are in a race to the bottom at this point.
  7. Out: M.Brown, Tomlinson In: May, McDonald
  8. Probably the first game of the year where 15 minutes in to the last quarter, I still didnā€™t know who would win. Even last week, it was clear weā€™d been outclassed by Freo and had waved the white flag. I thought this game was a real arm wrestle. Unfortunately we came up short.

Comparing two players having a blue to a player with a history of making racist comments against indigenous players is a massive swing and a miss, even by your standards.

All the exact like-for-like changes I was expecting, although I expected Salem to have a kick at Casey first. Other than May/Thommo, itā€™s an upgrade in every case. Looking forward to this now.
  11. Exactly. And totally illogical, since the MRO is employed by the AFL and the tribunal arenā€™t.
  12. Losing Jackson would definitely set us back development wise. Weā€™d need to start development of Gawnā€™s heir from scratch. Whoever that player may be isnā€™t even on the list yet; the only other ruckman in the list is 31 year old Majak Daw.

Zero chance JVR got picked anyway even if he was available. Throwing kids to the wolves who arenā€™t ready was so 2009. If we need a break-glass forward, Mitch Brown will play. Itā€™s what heā€™s on the list for and heā€™s been in form.

Iā€™m not letting Brown off the hook that easily. Yeah our forward connection was poor - so what, it often is, but normally he can take marks leading up, bring the ball to ground and just generally add physical presence. Tonight he added absolutely nothing whatsoever. Iā€™m a fan of his, but performances like that canā€™t be accepted.

Out: Melksham, May (, Dunstan) In: Harmes, McDonald (defence) BBB was worst on ground. While he has credits and is obviously important, that was way below par. Mitch Brown should be under consideration.
  16. Yeah, we only lost to s*** sides. Thatā€™s much better!
  17. We were comprehensively outplayed by a very good team, with one of our best and most crucial players injured in the first quarter, and his key lieutenant also playing hurt. If that's how we go down then so be it - I'd prefer that than being beaten by a pus side because of our own inaccuracy or something like that. It's why it's so important to break away and bank wins whenever you can, because there will be times when you can't. We had to taste defeat again eventually. Still tastes like poo; one serve of victory next week please.
  18. Looking forward to see how we respond. Haven't been so comprehensively smashed in a quarter like that since round 23 against Geelong last year. Game is far from over yet.
  19. Kent Kingsley wasn't a spud and Michael Walters definitely isn't either.
  20. Iā€™m surprised people are losing confidence with TMac out. Sure heā€™s been good recently, but a month ago he was out of the best 22 (and the player who has replaced him was in it) and we were fine.
  21. It surprises me a bit* that Melbourne supporters, who watch us play every week, struggle with the concept that Melksham and Dunstan arenā€™t competing for the same spot in the team. *not at all
  22. Lol, I missed a key line in that post. Oh well, Iā€™ll leave my post there. Hopefully my failure to read lightens someoneā€™s day šŸ˜‚
  23. Just what we (Tasmania) have been asking for, a complete basket case of a club, that nobody wants to play for and now, it seems, work for, is anchored to the bottom and has an overall brand we donā€™t identify with. Sign me up now!!
  24. He started getting called Plugger on here after his hot streak in 2018. It reached its peak with the over the shoulder kick to nab the game against West Coast over in Perth. Itā€™s an ironic term of endearment. I donā€™t believe anyone actually thinks Tom McDonald is as good as Tony Lockett.
  25. Canā€™t speak for Werridee but I just assumed he was out given he was subbed off. If they mentioned once on the broadcast why Langdon went off, I certainly didnā€™t hear it.
