Cameron Schwab now writes for the Age.

Because the correct saying is "the proof of the pudding is in the eating". To quote Urban Dictionary: The original saying is "the proof of the pudding is in the eating", basically meaning that something has to be experienced or utilised in order to prove how good it is. This phrase got messed up by idiots who don't quite understand what they are saying." -
Jeez, the three-week trade period has been going for two days. Come back on October 25 and then complain about the result. And even then, if we don't get someone, it'll be for a good reason.

I think you'll find that on the Western Front, they're still fortifying their positions, gathering their armaments and maybe a box of hand grenades to lob. There's been a few early skirmishes with some casualties, but the campaign will intensfy in the last week. Even then, they may decide it's a ridiculous battle and all go home empty-handed.

Sigh. -
'Word is' is equivalent to 'They say' or 'I've heard'.

Signed, sealed and delivered then.

I'd trade pick 22 for Heath Shaw and pick 10.

The pressers became the pressed. The tacklers became the tackled. A brown and yellow haze on the field. Hawthorn played it on their terms. Won the clearances and never let the Dockers clog up the play too much.

Clubs (Melbourne, GWS) have pulled out of offers for Martin. He runs the risk of finding himself back at Richmond with a lower offer than he started with.

I'd like Geelong and Sydney to win. But I think Hawthorn and Freo will.

I think there's two aspects to 'culture' in a football club. One is go-hard, put-your-head-over-the-ball, no-bruise-free-play. Melbourne has been deficient in this. Martin can buiild it. The other is the no-[censored]-off-the-field culture. Melbourne is building this, and I think they're OK. Martin is a real threat to it. I hope there are other options to improve the first one, without getting someone who risks destroying the second.

The meta-No T$ B$ thread within a thread.

I was just trying to see if someone could.

For any newcomers to Demonland, could someone summarise this thread?
-
They might be comparable if all Martin did was a bit of hanky panky with a girl in a tent. Somehow I think Martin has a lot more than that going against him.
-
I wouldn't want him unless he can pass a very stringent frontal lobe development test.

I know that, but I think that's somewhat avoiding the issue. The sites that show on Demonland often 'secondarily' click through to pornographic sites if they are clicked. I've received many advertisements when I'm not logged in for sites promoting Thai girls, sexy singles, dubious dating sites etc. Just because they're from Google doesn't mean they're 'safe'. I think maybe you should further limit the Google adverts that display away from dating agencies and singles. I'm just trying to both protect kids from unfortunate collateral exposure and maintain the integrity of Demonland as a site for viewers of all ages.

They'd have a hard time dope testing Bob Marley. -
Maurie's Laws of Demonland drafting and trading: 1. The time taken for a delisted player to be mentioned on Demonland is inversely proportional to their drafting value. 2. The older they are, the more likely they are to be mentioned. 3. The more cultural issues they have, the more likely Demonland posters are to want them. 4. The more injury prone they are, the more Demonland posters think they are a good proposition.

Love the total contradiction in this sentence: "Melbourne has been given enough assistance in recent years, been a debilitating drain on the entire competition for too long."

And some wines mature later. Sometimes they're the best, longest-lasting ones. The ones that mature early sometimes don't last as long in the bottle.

Everyone should add "sy" to their user name for the next month to honour our new coach. Like Redlegsy or Old Deesy.
