Come on optimists, sell me hope
I actually agree with the assessment of the first half, I don't think we played that well yesterday as a collective. We are not an elite team. We still can't play 4 consistent qtrs. We are still in development and don't have a settled side in set positions and roles yet (by my observation and injuries - ie Viney). Rambling but it was good to see Gus play as a pure mid for the first time as well yesterday. But we are not the pathetic MFC of old, that's where I don't understand the over reaction and consistent negativity on Demonland. I was going to start a thread myself yesterday. To see who had the balls to call us making and not making the eight this year. I do not think we are a certainty but the competition is so close that we are not out of it. The next 3 weeks are a HUGE indicator of how well we are going to go this season and we should be looking at winning al three.

Im too young to join the old man complaints club. Sorry bb

The youngest most inexperienced side
Cant argue with that. But the three you've mentioned are not the majority of the dynamic of the team. The majority have played less then 100 games. Are you saying those 3 should be able to carry the side? The question were asking/discussing here is how long until these guys under 100 games click? And when do Hogan, Oliver brayshaw and tracc become regular game winners?

Kids will only play well based on the others around them. Richmond have a core group of very good experienced leaders topped up with young talent. Not quite the same situation as is right now. Oir game winners jave played less then 100 games and the others are injured. Im not using it as an excuse as a team we've been shown up the past couple of weeks.

Brendan McCartney - Moved to the bench
I'd pay money to watch you say that to BMs face.

Brendan McCartney - Moved to the bench
Until you're the head of football operations no one cares. No offence but seriously why bother arguing about something neother of us have any idea about. Just ride it out. And if the fd [censored] it up they'll be out

Angus Brayshaw
based on what? Gut feel? You know he wants more opportunity? Just adlibbing? While I don't disagree with the point you've made, it is a long season, there are at least 21 games left for Gus to make an impact. We all know we struggle to perform consistently over a whole season. Players not playing now isn't the end of the world, as some on here would like to make out. I want to see Gus play in the ones, but if we are winning games (I know we aren't yet...) but let's just hold the dogs off a little longer hey???

Are we ready? Rory Sloane
Hello Demonland It's been in the media recently that Rory Sloane may be on the move - Graham Cornes increasingly concerned Rory Sloane will leave Adelaide at end of 2018 With increasing talk about Free Agency every year, and the predictable constant speculation from the AFL media and Social media, I pose a couple of question to this learned group. 1. Are we a chance of bidding for and landing Rory? 2. Is the AFL community ready for an AFL player to commit to a new club before they are officially out of contract? Would be a massive step. Would anyone be upset if Rory came out and said, I will give my all to Adelaide in 2018 but I am committing to Collingwood in 2019? Rather then the now standard contract on hold? Interesting discussion I think

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Anyone got a progress in the Crows B&F?? Surely if he's not top 10 the Crows can't demand 2 first rounders

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
I believe it's just Adelaide posturing by saying 'a Victoria club'. It means they want fair value and idont blame them. We'd be upset if it eas petracca. Going to be an interesting trade period because the crows seem.[censored]

You could be right mate, I cbf looking up dates. All I know is the crazy season is officially here now

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
Hahaha relax mate. Actually I am a little bored as well. We need some more fake rumors or something to pass the time I assume crows will be in lock down for a couple of days. I think trade week starts this week? I should look it up (but cbf) I assume Lever will either re-sign or nominate a club this week. A lot of these deals get done mid year (terms etc agreed to)... Only Lever and his manager would know exactly. I find it just unrealistic noise sometimes with North and Saints etc now making plays.... If you think about it and you were moving employers, generally speaking it wouldn't be a spur of the moment decision. I'm not saying it can't happen, but I reckon Lever has already made up his mind. We will just have to wait to find out who it is.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever
I've got a feeling you're point is 100% spot on rpfc. We can only speculate but I reckon Goody wants to change the dynamic of the back 6 or 8 depending how they're going to play. Dees have been notoriously bad at rebounding out of defence and bringing in Lever helps change that dynamic and moves out our bad ball users to the opposite end of the ground. Who'd have though a bad field kick but solid 1v1 player in T Mac could be so dangerous forward? It also gives opportunity for guys like Joel smith to develop further as a 3rd string defender and not a KPP.
