  1. CW clearly has a conflict of interest concerning the MFC - I would love to know if she is being influenced externally.... Someone out there really wants to de-stabilise this club - they can G&GF
  2. My exact thinking as I was scrolling through this thread Big Jim It would hurt losing picks but it wouldn't be the end of the world - with FA being introduced there is now more opportunity to pick up 'replacements' for a yr or two.... PS: I don't feel at this stage we will lose our picks for this years draft
  3. I agree, the MFC should take action against Caro - obviously once this is wound up and her claims haven't been proven
  4. The issue here isn't the fact the club tanked or whatever - everyone knows the club managed the season just like WCE, HAW, COL, CAR, WB, RIC etc - no one can argue that....... but these clubs are not in question are they??? My point at no stage involves a lynch mod or throwing out the board (i support the board) - I am not ADC My point relates to the poor management and leadership of some individuals at the club. I trust the club will make the right moves. i've been happy with the way the club has handled the situation.... If you look at successful professional organisations people who are found to de-stabilise or embarass the organisation or their personal reputations or image in question they are moved on I simply feel the club at some stage needs to address this issue. If AFL players are held to account for their actoins - why are not administrators?? Look at Damien Oliver - he's finally admitted to betting on a race he was riding in (reported on ch 7) - I don't understand how is allowed to continue to race - his integrity is gone Same at this club - surely a few ppls integrity has now been destroyed
  5. Very interesting points you raise stuey For me personally (and i have no affiliations with the current or prior boards or any other administrators) I think anyone directly linked to '186 or these allegations' (which i have no doubt are directly linked) should stand down from the club.... And the reason I say this is the MFC needs to clean up it's integrity. We expect the players to act like professionals and equially administrators should be held accountable for their actions (I am not directy blaming anyone for this current situation but the MFC image has been tarnished forever). Anyone involved should hand in their resignations for the simple reason that their positions are now conflicted and it is inappropriate for them to continue on. I am happy to wait for the AFL decision before any action is taken - but I beleive for the good of the MFC that anyone involved in the allegations needs to consider their positon. We as supporters expect the MFC to be run professionally - I will watch with interest the club's reaction.... Personally I feel the club has to cut ties with anyone who has jepordised the club That's my take anyway
  6. I've been doing the same Jackaub - It has been good to go back and re-watching the games without the passion and disappointment (plus it's a footy fix). I've found personally, on top of what you and Chippa have already said, that it has been interesting to watch the team develop over the weeks - From approx round 10 onwards there is clear improvement ... you can see the team using the ball with more confidence and winning uncontested possessions, and shutting down teams (if only for qtrs at a time - The st kilda game in the 2nd qtr we smashed them but we couldn't score ourselves). Anyway here is hoping we continue to improve in 2013
  7. I haven't followed everything either but this is heartwarming. I don't understand why people (coaches - explayers) would want to ruin their reputations to tesity what we all know is reality anyway.... Only real idiots (McLean) and people with an axe to grind or want to see the club harmed would be putting thier names oor fuelling this. If out of this investigatoin the AFL find 'Tanking' or cheating or whatever didn't take place at the MFC I would expect 2 things to happen - CC or anyone involved to step down for damaging the integrity of this club - and to clean the image of the MFC, and - Caroline Wilson to step down from the AGE or I will start a campaign to get her fired (AFL media should be held accountable for what they say in public)
  8. So to eleborate - (please feel free to PM me as I want to be in the know.........) Please answer these questoins/concerns I have below Why would these players put their reputations and careers on the line with a disagreement over team tactics or strategy?? Why not asked to be traded at the end of this year?? When should we expect the next '186' in response to above named players dissatisfactoin?? Or should I just expect a mass exudos at year end 2013? Thanks in advance - i appreciate you being the playing groups voice
  9. Yawn....... wowee I am sure that has never happened in footy ever
  10. You are obviously not a farmer - the weak cattle always get slaughtered for the betterment of the herd. It has been no secrect that 'senior' cattle hated CC and other administration at the club - now the majority of these 'senior' members have been moved on I am hoping Neeld has a better chance of producing success at the club ADC - i think you need to be less vague, who in the current leadership group is not on the Neeld 'reality bus'??? I thought they had been all moved on now?
  11. The Swans and Adelaide actually had quite offesive gameplans.... They relied on winning the contested footy and firing the ball out from contests to their ball users. he top sides (All of them) relied on winning the contested footy. Saints and Freo were more the traditional defensive game plan. Anyway the part of your analysis you forget or neglect to mention that for the majority of the year we were just as in-experienced as GWS or GC and teaching a whole side to be defensive - Neeld didn't have the cattle - i think we all acknowledge that 2013 will be interesting - 2014 will be the year we will be able to tell if Neeld can coach or not
  12. I get the feeling this vendetta against the MFC is personal for CW I also get the feeling - ex players linked to '186' who were un-happy with CC & CS are fuelling this fire. Interesting times
  13. Please elborate
  14. I was actually only commenting on the bolded bit of your last past - but all good nothing wrong with your opinion. All i was trying to say - which i clearly did poorly haha was that guys like Gys who Neeld felt wouldn't contribute short term were replaced with bloke he though would ie Rodan Thats how i see it If it is a mistake getting rid of Gys for Rodan only time will tell - can't make a call if it is right or wrong now
  15. Agree BB The media are very short sighted - they praise Richmond's top up strategy but bag ours - pot kettle anyone??? Anyway if anyone can explain to me 'paying overs' I will be very happy - this seems to be a media buzz word to back up a non-factual argument... And before i get the redundant pick 20 is too high for Dawes - try explaining how that pick 20 would be more advanced that a bloke who has been in the AFL system for 6 years and had 6 years of development adding to the fact he was contracted and HAD to pay for him Someone explain to me how that was overs?? If Dawes turns out to be Brad Miller that will be overs!!
  16. Still the PSD and the Delisted Rookies to come mate - might be more pick ups
  17. Not attacking your personally Maldonboy as what you said I generally agree with... but The bolded line I don't know how you can say this as a fact. This is nothing more than your own personal views/speculation. I have no idea how ppl on here can make these acqusations??? Maybe in 12 months time when the plan fails fine go to town... anyway The rest I agree with - no one knows if this drafting trade period will be sucessful - What I do know and think is this club needed a kick in the arse - and it got it The future is not being gambled - we are not relying on Dawes/Byrnes/Pederson & Rodan to deliver us flags - they are helping us short term so we can support the development of our CORE kids like Blease/Nicholson/T Mac/ etc and make us competitive short term Do ppl forget there will be another draft next year - we will draft and obtain more players we need. I want to win some games in 2013 - Thank you Mark Neeld
  18. Start naming skinny un-competitive players at Coll, Cats or Hawks who are given multiple years to deliver???? I can't think of too many........
  19. Yup you should do some more reasearch and realise not all 1st and second round picks make it either..... but thats not my point My point is list space was cleared for players who want to put in the hard yards, and want to compete and win or develop mentor blokes who can. I'm tired of this club being un-competitive - potential is a dirty word - deliver or f-off
  20. Agree DD - I was more alluding to our signings and trades from the last few weeks - 2013 will tell if they are good moves or not. The rest I agree with - Our core group are kids they need time. Neeld is making sure we are at least competitive in 2013 and I like it. Im tired of losing and losing to sh#$ teams
  21. Well he looks soft physically - from an outside POV. I am happy for the club to make calls on players and bring in guys they want. As for Stef what he played 19 games and is 27-28??? I'm happy to give another bloke a chance of playing consistant AFL footy. Enjoy the sunshine big fella
  22. Considering we couldn't beat Port this year i'd say most team could be considered decent opposition?
  23. Agree won't happen overnight but hopefully its a start. The blokes we've brought in are on life-lines i'd rather them playing their hearts out than the crap being served up this year
  24. Agree DDD But as Rino said the proof will be winning games. I don't think it will happen overnight for the MFC but I am confident this strategy of chopping the weak for competitors will eventually pay good dividends.... Here's hoping we can win some games in 2013 - and good on MN and the Footy department for breathing some life in to this list....
  25. Because Gysberts, Martin, Cook and Morton we're all knocking down the door to make the best 22 in a pretty poor side. We need to keep these deals in context - we're opening spots for blokes who want to play for the MFC and put in the effort required by the FD Stop worrying about draft pick numbers and look at the bigger picture that losing these soft blokes will improve the list - even if it only for minor reasons in 2013
