Viney MUST be sole captain 2019
I still haven't changed my mind either. Viney is a good footballer, but not a rounded leader. He leads from the front like Jones, but you never see him barking orders and organising players like a Hodge or Selwood or Cotchin does. Neither Viney or Jones should be captain going forward. It should be someone like Lever, TMac or Brayshaw.

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 21
Bad kicking is bad football. I'm disgusted at the loss today. The optimists can continue their blind hope. I only deal in facts, and the fact is nothing has changed and the club has been a failure for over half a century. It's getting f*cking tiresome watching the same stupid sh*t being served up year after year. You can say we've improved, but so have all the other clubs around us and we're still battling to even make finals. With the playing list we have, we should be a top 4 certainty. I don't know who's to blame, but someone needs to be accountable for the continuous failure. If anyone knows where umpire Matthew Nicholls lives, please PM me. I've had a gutful of the cheating/incompetent (take your pick) maggot, and I need to carry out justice for the sake of society.

Round 21 Non MFC Games
Cats might pinch this! They have an amazing ability to tear home in the last 10 minutes of games!

Congratulations Bernie Vince on 100 MFC Games
He's apparently done his shoulder in the VFL today. I'm assuming he won't go around again next year. Horrible way to end your career being dropped and then getting injured to rub salt into the wound. I'm thankful that Bernie chose to come to us and played some really good footy in the red and blue. He's a likeable bloke and deserves success.

Run home to Finals - 2018
It runs simulations and therefore is different every time. I’ve run it a bunch of times and had us finishing anywhere from 2nd through to 10th.

Andrew Gaff
Is this post sarcasm or genuine? Have no sympathy for Stevens or most journalists. The quality of journalism, especially in Australia, is utterly rubbish. The stories and things they post do far more harm than what Gaff did. If Gaff deserves 12 weeks, then Stevens should be behind bars. You get more factual information from anonymous posts on internet forums than what the so called journalists serve up these days. They spread absolute rubbish and are not held to account. Pathetic scum. I'd welcome Gaff to the club with open arms. Hopefully this incident has knocked a few hundred thousand off the contract for us

Changes vs Sydney
I'd bring Hunt in for Smith. He was struggling early in the season due to ongoing back issues hindering him throughout preseason. His ankle/foot injury will have given his back time off to recover. If he's injury free and fit now, then he's unquestionably better than 4-5 players in the 22 at the moment, and the most suited replacement for Smith. He could definitely be our x-factor come finals time.

Thank [censored] Cats didn't win!

Round 20 - Non MFC Games.
Probably not... they got pantsed in the last quarter and were lucky to win!

Round 20 - Non MFC Games.
Cats destroying the Tigers this 4th quarter. 5 goals to 2. 4 points down with 2 minutes to go. Cats look like they'll pinch this one. Typical of our luck!

Round 20 - Non MFC Games.
Jeez let's hope the Cats don't get over the top here!

Changes v Gold Coast Suns
VandenBurg named on a half forward flank to replace Melksham. The extended bench is listed below. I'd play the ones bolded, so essentially Joel Smith replaced by Hunt. Christian Petracca Charlie Spargo Dean Kent Cameron Pedersen Jayden Hunt Alex Neal-Bullen Timothy Smith Joel Smith

Salem ready to make his mark
He's had a decent year, not outstanding, and he's still tracking behind where he should be after 5 years. He's had injury and health issues, but he appears to be past them now and has finally got a clean run at it this year. I thought he was good in the midfield earlier in the season. He's been poor down back though. He could potentially become a good rebounder off half back, but he's poor defensively, often fails to spoil (directly cost us two goals on the weekend failing to spoil a smaller 9 game player!), and overcommits and goes to ground. I'd rather develop him as a midfielder where he belongs. He should be playing on a wing to make use of his kicking skills going inside 50.

MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 19
This is as far from an issue as possible. We are the highest scoring team in the league. The next closest is Richmond approximately 150 points behind us. We could literally not play for a week and still be the highest scoring team, such is our offensive dominance. Our is issue is our defense from the midfield. Defenders will never be able to stop a ball coming in at a million miles an hour with no pressure on, no matter who they are. Our midfield still has lapses where it does not transition to defend and pressure the ball carrier through the middle. Until this is fixed we will never contend, despite being an offensive juggernaught.

Injury List - Season 2018
Harmes more likely NOT to play according to Misson. Hibberd still 3 weeks away. Viney 3-4 weeks. That's both of them done for the year unless we march into September, and even then they'll be underdone fitness-wise. Disappointing to cop those injuries at the wrong end of the year!
