  1. I backed him here as I did on 'ology. As for '06 and doing homework, BB would e wise to take note that Bell was crippled with OP for the bulk of the season and stepped up the first chance he got late in the season.
  2. Either way I hope the decision is soon and goes our way. I can't ever remember wanting to get a player to Melbourne anywhere near as much as I want us to get Judd. The suspense is killing me and the sooner we find out the better IMO. Come home Chris.
  3. Mine took little talent but a fair bit of time slowly working out how to do it. Was inspired by Stinga's.
  4. I'm not denying that he gave Johnson a bath. I was a fan of his too in the past. During the season I only visit one board most of the time, that's demonology for me where I post as Korean Demon. So sorry if I missed your thread. That said, we haven't had many good players in the last 43 years and I wonder if many outside of your top 10 would have made it onto equivalent lists of teams that have been succesful in that period. Last year I was critical of Bruce kicking from early in the year and copped it from many posters. This year many are singing the same tune. I may be biased, I see Bruce as a highly over-rated footballer who regularly goes missing when the team is down, who gets few hardball gets since his injury and who struggle to hit a target more than Godfrey. I'm biased as I think his best value to the team is trade bait because he has lost his ability to kick. He either re-learns the art and put his body on the line like Green has learnt how to or he is a waste of space on our list. Maybe though, I'm not the biased one and it's you who is holding him in a higher regard than his ability justifies due to his past deeds.
  5. The free was an attempt to stop an easy mark... The papers say Bruce was in the best so he must be.... Bruce is a versatile footballer, something I've always given him credit for. How many hard ball gets did he get against Johnson though? His atrocious footskills though stop him from being a good footballer IMO.
  6. Was that the first 7 games? When we averaged about 3 hardball gets a game? Was he also leading our clangers then?
  7. It was reported a few days ago that the Eagles have requested that Chris nominates 2 clubs.
  8. Yes Bobby, it was all Rod's fault. Not only did he waste quite a few easy opportunities for goal, he gave away a free kick too far outside for a score, he then grew a few inches and gave away a 15 meter penalty. You are right, he cost us dearly. You are also right, Bruce has silky skills, I've been saying on 'ology that he can't kick for 18 months, I was watching the wrong game. Sure Bruce laid some tackles through the year, all of them forgettable. Did he make any tough ones that made us all sit up. Win his own ball? By running around in no mans land screaming "give it to me, give it to me".
  9. Bruce is over-rated as he can't kick. He's hardly hit a target in the last 2 years. The looks on his face when he gets the opportunity to take a set shot reminds me of Daniel Motlop lining up for goal after the siren. The he is soft. Hasn't gone for a hard ball since he hurt his shoulder a few years ago. The ultimate downhill skier. who is not even close to being one of our best players.
  10. Spot on Nasher. I find this thread so offensive to Radar (and I was a pretty vocal critic of him) that I'm annoyed it's still on the board.
  11. Thanks for that. I mentioned in another thread that Bruce is the most overrated players in the league so anyone who says he is our best player isn't worth wasting time with.
  12. Bruce or Junior could not be given the captaincy. You cannot have captains who can't kick. Junior is only an average kick and Bruce is poor to say the least. I'd favour McLean despite his age and need to improve, he's a natural leader and could help with the sea change in attitude our club so desperately needs and what better time to make that change than with the arrival of a new coach. Green would be my second choice.
  13. This thread says a lot more about why the MFC are in the state they are than what Judd does. It is a disgrace and highlights why people continually deride the Demons and even more, their supporters. The highlighted quote, disgusts me and makes me be ashamed to be associated with such fans. Let's never expect anything, we will never be disappointed... how pathetic. We should not expect anything we should get off our pampered arses and deemand. If this leads to disappointment well boo [censored]ing hoo. Let's all sit back and meekly accept being also-rans just there to provide a contest, whinge about how everyone makes fun of us and complain about how others get all the breaks. No wonder so many treat us like doormats when so many of our supporter base just lie down for others. You make me sick.
  14. If, and a big if, they offered him the captainsy it would be interesting to know whether they discussed this with the playing group - or at least the leadership group first as it has recently been the playing group who selects the leadership group.
  15. What if the pies were to offer Cloke for Pick 4? I don't watch many Pies games so am unsure of how good he is, but I know he is highly rated so what do people here think?
  16. I agree with the last sentence. To answer the question in the just look at our history over the last 43 years and you'll discover why so few take us seriously. That said, how are they different from around half of the posters here who don't rate us as any chance?
  17. Was it the avatar or the writing style. My secret is out
  18. He was accurate and it just goes to show how much we need to chase Judd. It hasn't changed my optimism though, not in the slightest. Judd is not going to want to play on the Dome as has been pointed out. Strike the bBlues and Essendon. We are also in a position to compete with the blues regards draft picks if they hold onto their number one. We have powerful people backing the club. The administration is the best we have had in my life. We can offer more than Colligwood would be prepared to give up and the Eagles are going to be enourmously reluctant to trade with them. We just have to convince Chris that we are the best fit for him. We can. We will!
  19. Only trade I would compare it with is the Barrassi move. Reckon that one worked out alright for the Poohs.
  20. Goose would be a good pick up but if we're any chance for Judd then we are no chance for Goose. If we are no chance for a Judd our 4th pick could be valuable and we could assist that trade with the trade, get Goose and either another good player or a replacement pick, probably early teens. That said, forget goose, get Judd.
  21. They need a smal goal-kicking forward. The quicker the better. Davey is a great match, who I would hate to lose but if it got Judd I'd jump. I'd hope they could find another acceptable deal first.
  22. I reckon a lot of people going on about our need for a key defender forget what you've raise here. Yes we have a weakness and need a remedy, but that's why I thought we drafted Frawley and Garland. They just need some time.
