  1. No urgency Oscar....just trot along mate. You dropped the mark, it's ok...You do it all the time.
  2. i pretty much agree with the original poster. Personally, I was generally happy with the effort and unfortunately a few individual mistakes or lack of experience cost us. I think we need another tall in the forward line to help take the bigger opponents and hopefully give our mid size forwards a better chances when the ball comes in. A bit more composure at crucial times and we win. Great to see Rivers and Kossie today, they look like they will be very good players.
  3. was about to ask the same question....
  4. pickett looks good, a few better signs but need alot more effort. Im not sure if its the system the coach wants to play or our players are dumb but we really suck at times.
  5. Surely Stafford is on thin ice. no forward structure last season looks like its continuing here.
  6. Just drop McDonald...get him out....what a liability....dumb dumb dumb...
  7. Good choice....
  8. Even the first pick took around 4 minutes...have the clubs been told to drag it out ? Surely you know your pick if you are number 1
  9. Ahhh....so you're the listener they still get.
  10. Have to agree...the announcer was crap...especially when he was going on about the latecomers coming in with drinks and the gracious Hawthorn supporters having to stand and let them get to their seats.
  11. When we got the ball it was a slippery piece of soap....when they got it, it was dry weather skills. To a man we fumbled the wet ball while hawthorn played as if it was a dry day is what the memory of that game was. Just one of those games...
  12. 9.3 to 11.6 st kildas way at half time. Umpiring gets worse every week...Bit like our form. St Kilda running much harder than we are...disappointing.
  13. Spent many a Saturday afternoon watching them run around. Crossy's old man played in (for a time anyway) the old style boots that came up over the ankle. I used to think it was a bit old fashioned even back then..
  14. Paul Spargo has previously coached Albury in the O & M football league and I assume is still involved in some way at the club. With Crossy playing up there, perhaps we had some inside info as well....
  15. Playing Devil's advocate....I don't want to lose him but...would you trade Weideman to Collingwood (probably looking for a tall forward) for draft pick + possible player for on-forwarding to Adelaide for Lever ? We already have Watts, McDonald and Hogan as talls (when all fit) and we could also look at Omac going forward if Lever comes in. It looks worse when on paper, as I think Weideman will develop into a very good player...
  16. It certainly helps the club when the player intake quality improves. We are a better club in many ways than the pre Jackson years so it's difficult to pinpoint any one area responsible for the turnaround. However, since Jackson arrived, he has certainly improved all areas of the football department (in particular) and the one area obvious to me is the increase in player quality coming into the club since Jason Taylor came in. We have better coaching structures in place now but you need the players to have the qualities required and Taylor seems to get it right most times.
  17. .....and make sure we do what we can to keep the recruiting team/scouting system. They have brought some real talent into the club, not all of it obvious.
  18. At one stage in the game on the weekend Toumpas saw oncoming players and still put his head over the ball in an attempt to gain possession. That showed courage for mine so I don't have too many issues on that front. He is still a kid, getting better with each game. I thought he did ok on the weekend, not too flash, made some errors but was attempting to get into the game. Shows a lot of promise at this stage of his development IMHO.
