Trust the boys to have a final ready when you get back....
-
We undid them in the VFL by ditching the Mitch and running Smith and others against the ruckman to give better numbers at the contest. May they might use Biclavs in the same role? If they set up that way, I would put max forward for large chunks and ruck Weids against him.

Hey, Jackaub, my hope is that they have already covered this off, and everyone knows that the best response is on the scoreboard. Going the biff often has the reverse effect - it might unsettle for a few minutes, but it shows real game weakness and if it came, I would have the boys feed off it as a weakness of character. There are few on the Cats list that would scare me, but VDB, Viney, Jetta, Lewis, Jones, Harmes would be serious 'first responders'. We should look after our own, feed off it, and smash them on the scoreboard. We dont want to lose anyone moving forward.

Great piece. There have been massive changes at MFC. Seems like a place people want to be, and a place where people strive together to be their best. Can't ask much more than that (except a premiership, perhaps....)

I was there. It was awful. I still have a twitch.

And yet, when you get away from the chains, the local pizzaria is likely to be a gem. Found a local near my place that is half the cost of Crust, and 3 or 4 times better. Agree on Domino's - awful. May as well eat the box.

Changes v Geelong - Elimination Final
buck_nekkid replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
The game will be won or lost one kick on from the contest. If we allow them to mark the ball easily, then it gives us problems. If we make the next kick a contest and win it, then we can set up and move the ball forward, or lock it in our forward half. We know their midfield is experienced, but an bunch of old cheaters loved by the maggots. They have a forward in form (Hawkins) and an average defence. We are faster and stronger than them. Harmes goes to Danger or Selwood in the middle. Jordan Lewis can sit on Ablett if he is forward of the ball (snail racing, anyone?). Frost should start on Hawkins, And Pig will own Menzel. They will be wary of Max and Oliver in their nice new blazers (AA on the pocket), and may try to use Biclavs to ruck against max to get more run in the middle. Wonder how they are thinking of covering us? We should throw down the gauntlet and go for it - defensive cover for only a few players of theirs, and hit them hard everywhere else with speed and brute force. At our best, we are better and should win by >30 points. It depends how we handle the pressure of finals. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BRAYDON PREUSS

Bradtke played junior footy, then focused on Petraccaball. I think this is different to Cox. More like other cat B rookies like Joel Smith perhaps? -
Casey Demons v Geelong VFL Qualifying Final
buck_nekkid replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Happened before, didnt it? Broken jaw?? In fact, this might be a great opportunity to hunt those on the fringes of Geelong selection. Playing the ressies the week before the AFL final exposes these players to a bit of biffo and could impact the senior selections come Thursday. -

Perhaps he has heard of the legendary egg and bacon rolls? we need back up to max. Can see flip and king being moved on, which leaves a gap. I would think he will go elsewhere, and we will target a ‘nearly there’ ruckman, and develop Bradke. i can’t see Oscar being moved on, unless there is something massive afoot. He has developed into an outstanding defender, and unless May is on the way, it should not happen. -
Big thanks and admiration to Bernie Vince. Well done on a great career, and bleeding Red and Blue. Always one of the family now.

Hoping the Thursday is a slogfest to tire out whomever we play week 2!
-
Busy girls today with the sunshine and the warmer weather. Enjoy the cuppa and save the feisty stuff for next Friday night!

All done. Short wait, then just went for best available 2 tix in the bag. Woohoo!

A good year for Adelaide to stock up on youngsters from SA, as the draft is apparently strong on SA talent. With Jerkins and Tex, they can probably do fine without him. Not a bad play if they can get some high picks. We have absolutely no need, and should have even smaller interest. Can see Blues and Norf opening their cheque books on this one.

So if there were 200000 tickets sold at $7.50 handling fee, that’s $1.5 Mio in revenue. Nice earner for a bunch of incompetent gits. Maybe Gill’s au pair runs it? a shameful mess. The club has messaged as best it can and gets all possible credit in the circumstances. The AFL and Ticketek are a disgrace. 3.5 hours wasted today. If I don’t get a ticket tomorrow, I will seriously go postal.

Casey Demons v Geelong VFL Qualifying Final
buck_nekkid replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wouldn’t think so. If we are basically going no change apart from injury replacements, we can play everyone possible at Casey, and if we have one or two potential ins off a 6 day break, I don’t think this is as important as getting game time (even finals experience at VFL level) into players. I would probably have non game training for a Hannan and Viney, and the rest can fight it out for a spot. -
Key tactical issues v Geelong

Chris Scott would sound arrogant taking a dump. All the talk will stop at 7:50pm next Friday. Then we can get to work. -
Key tactical issues v Geelong

I think Max will dominate the ruck. We have to hold our spread off the contest otherwise the 'waltzers' of the cats will pinch our hard won ball. Harmes to run a shut-down role, and be dangerous the other way like against GWS. Frosty to get Hawkins, with license to run off him when we have it. Forward set-up: stop the high bombs. Use Weid to get the ball to ground with a small forward ready to pounce. set up 6 v 6 and trust our midfield. Tactically, we only got beaten by then because we let their midfield stagers back in late in the game. We cannot have them strolling away from contests. I am not so worried about the uncontested mark issue (we fixed that in Q2 vs GWS, and it really made a difference), I am more worried about their ability to get outside us at the contest and deliver to a 1:1 in 50. I also see the umps loving the 'big names' of Geelong and being at a 12-18 point disadvantage before we start. (Take a look at the HTB against nev this week not paid, and paid the other way. Lucky for a poor kick). -
Today he delivered from the back half superbly, made contests, and importantly calmed the guys down in the back half in the last quarter when under fire. sags 30m off his man, which either makes him look like a millionaire, or as a grandpa as his opposite number strolls away. It is obviously part of our plan, and today it worked brilliantly. he can be exposed by this, and his pace, if the opposition get out and away. he has been very important, and now he will really earn his keep as we move into September.
-
Dear MFC. Thank you. That is all.
-
I though he would have been much more harshly without the goals. Overall, he was not clean. He made bad decisions (the easy miss). He has so much upside.
-
Thought he did well today. Not only the clunked marks, but the contests, tackles and efforts.

Changes v Geelong - Elimination Final

Absolutely agree. He played a really good game and would be considered a lock for the 22 unless injured -
What did you have to do to qualify for the boundary walk? I have been to every home game bar one, when I was o/s.
