Adelaide List manager, Noble, might be in our sights
beelzebub replied to beelzebub's topic in Melbourne Demons
Its not particularly what the club would want that will work. Various people will prefer contracts or go elsewhere. -
This is the dilemma. There can be no real half measures in this. If one is guilty then by association and similar transgression the ret are if they too took to the needle.. Personally I couldnt care less if Windy Hill blew up the arrogant sh!ts but it would impact big time to the league. Esendon is very important to the Vlads of this world. But...BUT..and heres the fiun bit. It may well, in the main, be out of the AFL's hands. They will try desperately to mitigate any raminfications but if ASADA etc come down like a ton of bricks...well..its going to be a ton of bricks. They cannot ping a bloke for just contemplating the use of something and hand out 2 years and then sit on hands if a whole f'n club is PROVEN to have used banned substances ( despite whatever ridiculous excuse brought to the argument ) . I dont want to see them fined....thats just money.. I want bans and real punishments handed down .Otherwise its just one huge bloody joke. Send Essendon to purgatory for a number of years. I really dont care. Let them suffer, let them see what its like. Just love to see the smiles smacked from their conceited faces. Just once....some bloody justice Kudos for Jobe for coming clean ( sic) He KNOWS hes crossed a line. He simply needs to get that monkey off his back. I dont for a second accuse him of wantingly having cheated but he knows he has broken a rule. Son ...you might just have to hand back CHARLIE... Its for the Best and FAIREST..... you have tainted that second bit. Fair's fair !!

The thing that concerns me ( and seriously so , was discussiing this with another Dl'er at training ) is even when little pressure hes a horrible kick. One morning we had a little sort of kick to kick , well Tommy was part of a trio in a circle type drill, the ball was brought in, a player marked and switched across then that player cleared out to the flank. I was watching from roughly that flank but obviously over the boundary.. Now Im not sure if Tommy was trying to include me in this drill but about 7 out of ten kicks ..I marked..lol It was training...NO pressure. !!! This is my ONLY concern about T Mac..Otherwise a gem.. but currently a seriously flawed one.

Hope so... Ive seen nothing in his action to warrant that optimism. we have to get it in our heads that OUR players HAVE to able to kick.. So many goals are given to our opposition in clumsy turnovers. POOR kicking is right up there. People may want to stick their heads in the sand but bad kicking kills us.

Adelaide List manager, Noble, might be in our sights

As others summise the old role of List manager will be morphed into a larger more encompassing role. ( meaning other roles will change and go also ) Apples and Oranges..or possibly Arranges !! Harrington was Staff...easily rid of ( as compared to paying out a contract ) -
still some nice bananas around.. Bought some yesterday. Oddly they can vary greatly from area to area. My local independent market/grocer often have nicer ones than Woolies, not to say they dont often but Im spoilt for choice occasionally.

Personally would prefer a mini . More to gain i think without costing other clubs much.
-
He still needs to learn how to kick a football....would be handy
-
Im just devastated

what as....... carrying drinks !!

was my thoughts too...lol Maybe a thread for Bobbies' Betters' Bouquets and Buckets !!! ??

Adelaide List manager, Noble, might be in our sights

I think there is a confusion because the job titles seem the same. I think Harringtons role was more skewed towards the contractual and money side of things. I think Noble is far more involved with ehe actual list. I could be wrong. Others would agree lol Im sure Jackson has such things in hand. Hes no nong !! -

As Chippy suggests hes been left to sort the mess , one not completely of his own doing. For all we know he may have thought it wiser to get something of a trade and have been overruled by those above. Who knows ( well someone would lol ) But I dont... Is given big raps by Craig apparently, but Im sure that Jackson will cast a wide net. Just thought the article was interesting. Keep in mind its SA...and theres not as much local (AFL ) footy news to rummage through. -
According to this South Australian article David Noble is a possible target as the new List Manager. Demons target Noble Seems to know his job, but then we've thought that about many. Get the right man MFC. He ( DN) might be it, or another. I get the impression his role at the crows is different to that which Harrington had. Is going to be interesting how Jackson works out whos doing what, who to keep , who to move sideways or otherwise.

would be a win all around. Time will tell

You mightnt get a lot of empathy but I certainly understand your sentiment. Jacksons doing a job. If it were a garden , hes weeding it. and while he there hes turning over the sod ( or sods ) and sowing a few seeds for the future. In some ways hes thhe right bloke as he can be relatively dispassionate about it., and youd have to be. I dont think though that he had to declare it ( as a mess ) as we all knew it, just not the extent.
-
Not so weird, as predictable !! its Essendon, not Melbourne
-
I have always thought it would be. Most likely no findings nor action to be had til after the draft etc.. Then it'll be a slap on the wrists, naughty boys, but you werent to know
-
yep...I know exactly what it had as I would sometimes watch the pies instead of us.. ( it was , dare I say it, more like watching footy ) MJT ..I am at a loss as to understand why these things arent done.. It mightnt be high on Jackos list (or it could be and just hasnt been actioned yet ) but its the sort of thing that needs attention.

answered your own question I believe
-
havent been for a while but it was only the goalpost padding that had any logos... Red Webjet Blue Opel. Might have changed
-
Keep in mind also Bookmakers also frame a market upon whos wagering what. There arent a lot prepared to put money on Roos

It would be far from correct to say all the bad decisions were his alone. For then youd have to acknowledge the good ones too. Which in a fair world you do. Harringtons efforts were not all smeared with failure. He has however, unfortunately for him, got himself a legacy of no great success, not with us . What I believe is going on here is simply a cleanout. Jackson has always spoken of the importance of the list, the need for a sound football dept that works towards things "footy" and in an effective way. We had none of this apparently ( amazing given the money thrown at it in recent times ) . The FD was still inept and the recruiting , overall, particularly, well, bizarre comes to mind. The buck stops somewhere. Even though some of the more contentious signings of late were not all of Tims doing it shows he managed a general trend. Our list speaks for itself really and it will be this overview that eventually condemned its overseer. Jackson is looking to rebuild this club with , in what he I imagine views, as higher calibre and achieving people. Good for us

Billy we certainly got things a bit arse about especially in regards where this club was ( not just of itself but in the great scheme of things )My sense of worth (mfc) related to the conundrum.. If back worth X then you had to think front more otherwise accept the problem of explaining to back sponsor lol. AS it turns out the market and Schwabby were poles apart. I cant blame him for askibf but not havibg the mental wherewithal to kbow when to change tac is lamentable . His heart may have been in the right place burger history certainly shows him to have been in the wrong one. Billy your valuing was fairly on but we had then a problem. Apples and Pears. We as a club have been really good in one dept.....getting ahead of ourselves .
-
It wasnt about the worth, it was about the method. You always ask for whatever you can get, is that your point , really. Honestly, I thought you would pick that one up. This is all about how the club went about things, more the point how Schwab did
