  1. I certainly didnt expect to win. I certainly didnt expect to start playing like we werent going to. Some of the coaching in recent weeks has been very negative in orchestration ( aka as white flagging )
  2. Sue..was referring to Watts's game. (over) Reading and DOING are two vastly different things. reading provides you with the knowledge aspect of what you might want want to do in respect to the play. You still need to WANT to do that. He seems half hearted often. Now thats just not a one off impression is it ?
  3. I thought Craig mentioned somewhere that he wouldnt be coaching the rest of the year as being an audition for the job but more an opportunity for the players to develop and have the chance to play ( without as great a restriction on flair and ability ) Might just be me but running the flag up doesnt do that. he might well still be on the list but hes losing ground rapidly with recent games.
  4. Now Old...you know I was a JW fan from the beginning and gave this kid quite a large berth as comes delivering on potential but Ive come to the conclusion after some rather deep thinks on this that i was simply , and somewhat foolishly, self deceiving. Yes he has talent, he is skillful, a great kick and wonderful finisher of the play but he just seems to have NO appetite for the meat and 3 veg part of the game. I can tell you right now If I were playing on him or he on me ( if that were a possibility lol ) at the very first opportunity in the game , and provided it fair Id run at him hard ( and stop late) I can pretty well guarantee you he wouldnt come within 5 m of me the rest of the game !! Now if I know that you can be assured others do to. I think we cut our losses here, hes just a shadow jumper
  5. The point was , not to gloat, but to highlight how volatile opinions can be around here. ( im not innocent by any means ) I may have erred originally by not offering a middle ground and i sensed some may have preferred that to either of the extremes. Even I am somewhat taken aback by the display of revision. Still. he has made it easy i think for people to pause and reconsider. The actually number of voters that seems to have changed though is relatively small.
  6. Not much point having a shiny car with all the trimmings, fluffy dice included if the donk under the bonnet is just carp!! That seems to be the model the MFC used to build a team. Nice bookends and goes nowhere
  7. Will be when confirmed, so many rumours involving the Dees just never pan out.
  8. No he wont...and Cale says hello
  9. With all due respect Sue youre advocating that Watts can pick Lotto number or read Tea leaves if hes able to so accurately foretell the immediate future. What that really smacks of is the DGAF's Fair dinkum players will ALWAYS try even when seemingly futile for it tells not only his team mates that hes prepared to put in 100% but conveys the same to the opposition. During that game it would have been obvious to anyone within cooee of Watts ( as a Freo player ) that he ( JW ) wasnt really interested in a contest. GAME OVER
  10. hmmm....funny how things change
  11. la la la la la ......not listening Maurie !!! damning isnt it
  12. On the table........well its all but a certainty hes going that route I think many simply have to forget what pick we used and consider the how or what of Watts . First round picks are gold. They will nearly always be used on the upcoming draftees unless an absolute gun is on offer. Watts is not that gun. He , if we are lucky will translate into a second round pick and more likely form part of a trade with picks crossing also top 10 No way top 20 extremely doubtful top 30 not on his own top 40...most likely outcome of sorts. Any club 'hopeful' of gaining him will know he has to be worked on and wont over value him but seek instead to grab as bargain. We simply have to negotiate.
  13. Davey is icing ( and a bit stale )..We need more cake,.... some actually !!
  14. Going also with the new "ruthless" club ideology then we have to dispassionately look at everything about the club and assess its wealth and health and restructure accordingly. When we come to Jack many of us ( and I include myself ) have to oheavily weighed his value , not so much on his shiny #1 badge but his skills etc which exude potential. I sense not much more will ever come from that as you need ambition, heart, desire to drive all of that and that seems lacking. So going with the "time to get tough " stance the club simply has to look at the what of Watts and ascribe a value to him and go with that at the trade table. This unfortunately will be with more than a tinge of write down but if that where he is at, then thats where he is at. We exchange that value for someone who can grown the prospects of the team as opposed anchor in tar. Some one once described getting ahead as picking and choosing from a selection of moving walkways. They go at different speeds at different times. If you pick the right ones at the right time to get ahead and much faster and further than if you choose poorly and stay on the slower/slowing ones too long. The thing is yo do have to change at times. Watts is a slow one.
  15. yupp. when the pain stops...and our seasonal delusional festivities start. Oh we'll have this player and that one and all the little ducks will swim in a row and we can eat fairy bread. Life will be so much better next year
  16. So I sift the posts and determine a consensus amongst the "keepers" amounts to Retain Davey because hes old. Thats about the strength of that recommendation. It goes to some notion that as such he automatically evokes leadership ideals which are miraculously handed down as sage embellishment of the younger indigenie. Well I'm convinced.......................................not
  17. What did I really take from this game Craig doesnt think Watts will be at Melbourne in 2014 Watts doesnt think Craig will be at Melbourne in 2014
  18. I would have thought his egress has been enacted/
  19. funny I had read that and was surprised to note this 3 year-ish affair. In the end doesnt matter. He can be a born again Demon for all I care if his heart is in the right place and his soul is sold to the devil
  20. Yes, I know , very odd possibly that I would agree but my position , always , is from the perspective of the team . I just want them to play , well, passionately and ideally in a winning manner. To see him plssed off was good. Maybe its the key that unleashes the potential. He has done this to a degree this year but theres still a level he can go to. I dont think we'll ever see that from Jack, more the pity
  21. Bush Demon Many of us are dismayed and saddened by the efforts ( sic) and viewpoints of lil ol Jackie. His current displays are diametrically opposed to the potential he showed. Its infuriatingly disappointing. Then theres his lip service...I mean....honestly.
  22. no that would be undecideds But I am curious if some might not change their minds . Such is the dilemma
  23. So go on.... re cast your votes if ya like... Anyone done this ?? .lol
