I would think the club is looking to do just that..a trade for Watts involvng a Player and a pick upgrade ( in some fashion ) Since Carlton does come up often in this as a hypothetical Id look at Watts and our 3rd round for Casboult and their 2nd rnd. Going to be interesting how this all pans out

Must have missed the memo...When did this suddenly become a valid excuse ? -

I agree that cant be the outcome. I dont think its what McDevitt wants either . The AFL is desperate to sweep this under the carpet now. Timing becomes an interesting thing . The AFL isnt too far off sorting out its next TV rights deal. It isnt going to want any uncertainty lingering regards how many teams , bans etc during this process. Gill the Dill will be especially aware of how that might dilute things. Might he be more motivated than some to expedite the Windy Hill saga? Happy endings style ( delib) I think WADA/ASADA sees the AFL thing as much more crucial to its governance than the League stuff up. Cant see Ben allowing a whitewash to occur on his watch. Gill and Paul are far too cozy. If this just 'goes away" my interest in footy will drop 50% and its not fabulously high atm . Hopefully ASADA have some balls -
And judging by their preparedness to kick it to him Id say they dont rate him too highly. There's actions, and there's words.... One is speaking louder !!!

So might Jack.....Baulking and Falling !!

Pretty well mirrors my vote and view. I honestly wish Watts well in his future. I just dont see it being with us
-
agree with that summation..

You say that and you cant say who that pick might be ? Surely by your methodology only a review in hindsight would present the true value. TJ had his problems but he ( on song ) would run circles around Grimes. Grimes isnt often on song. Id take 25 for Watts and be very surprised in the club wouldnt ( if of a mind to trade )

The AFL still think, just like Essendon , that they are special, beyond accountability. Wouldnt think Middleton would be impressed. -

Gill the Dill, what else can I say -
just out of idle curiosity whod you rate higher ?

No the joy is the blind denial that we can all enjoy until the names are actually called. Even then we can live in "believed" expectations until round 1. All bets are off then. Reality kicks in. Its an Annual event Maple...kick back get a crate of Labatts ( Blue's my fav ) and ride the vibe

I had started one to Sat...lol....baby steps

Thats an interesting point actually Sue . That many at the club ( players ) dont see the problem., That in ITSELF is half the problem. Half the list isnt up to it and their view counts also ?? . Maybe they are actually TOO close to give an objective view ?? ( its a question ) So you can see there might be flaws all around. Again..Its a poll amongst us. Given the absolute gaping hole that is our "success" in recent times Im not gong to allow that the club necessarily knows a whole lot better. I hope it does NOW.

your last line negates the rest.. it was just to see what WE thought..thats all it was, all it could do

Id still contend whether there's a majority but that aside there's a decent amount. As you suggest it also confounds me. Bit like some hanging onto a bad marriage... been over for years but [censored] what they know and there's a certain comfort in what you know. As those designing a referenda will attest best to place desired outcome as the "NO" answer as many just aren't down with change. Strangely its change that this club needs in spades. Each to their own I guess

thats not their focus....theyd pick ONE up later. let someone else have the running in problems etc.
-
they do have choice rjay...where and when..

hence post #89 ...lol

I can say it Jazza as I have LESS !!!!

Not only is it a known entity but its immediate. On a good day its 2-3 years by our experience before you can really consider a draftee to impact games...the good ol 30-40 games etc. trading in a rtr is smart I reckon. The clever clubs still pick a few kids etc but more middle order or r rookie. All of this is Risk Management 101 am 100% in favour of it.

come ...you have .......some ( hair )

ahhh yes I did miss it..lol... We're just bloody awful.. Doesnt really matter a lot though Im leaning to home games at Adelaide in future..lol
-
you dont think Port are better at Ingles St than playing elsewhere...just curious

Its the smart way, but as some have somewhat rightly pointed out its really only available , in the main , to the more successful clubs. Its definitely the way I'd weight current and future dealings. You might pay a little more later but your strike rate at getting what you want/need goes through the roof as opposed ours, through the floor !!
