Outcomes are determined by how you fare in that regard. What you do against yourselves is all but meaningless in the overall washup.. You are better or worse in reality only as much as your standing against your competition. I.e last year we were 17th, this year we are 17th.. We have changed, dare we suggest improved ( in areas ) but when we look to the raison d'etre as per the AFL we have'nt budged. AS we may improve in areas so undoubtedly will our adversaries. To only gauge a change by referencing ourselves gives a false result. its only ever how we go against other clubs that will offer up anything meaningful in terms of progress.. What you may think as opposed to what IS are often two very different things in , well, everything.

Im a little curious about the poll.. Showing roughly a 1/3 as thinking he'll stay. A question to them then. As Jackson suggests, there's been an offer on the table for a while from us and he's not signed. He's waiting for a month to make a decision ? Coincidentally til the end of finals As PJ says : "you'd think he would have signed if he were staying " So, what does anyone base their answer that he's staying on ? Seems odd.

Surely the tenet and foundation for most ( western ideologies and some eastern ) is that there ought to be a fairness as a given and an equally opportunity to rise but that its down to the individual to assert that privilege ( some may cal a right ) . But given the general acknowledgement that equalisation is actually required before all else then surely there IS something fundamentally wrong with the current model and how it plays out in such things as FA etc. I dont think anyone wants a free ride here, but like the Stall Gift....its handicapped to make it a race, we need a similar attitude to the league. Its a one sided affair currently.

Funny how all this ties in with what a local ( down there told me ages ago ). Still , he might go elsewhere but it seems to be Hello Kitty doesnt it. Its not the money either as It was suggested to me about 2-2.5 over 4 with a kicker for 5 , with conditions. Geelong arent totally stupid. I tend to agree. he seemed to play to a level he thought Ok not keep going and be what he was fleetingly and could have been always. Paul has been very kind in the public arena ( so has PJ ) but i seriously doubt either really harbour much desire to keep him.
