  1. I reckon Mitch is Stoked to be going to the Cattery !!
  2. Im glad a lot of ppl here dont make business decisions on my behalf.
  3. Im pretty confident pick 3 has been telegraphed to the club. We wouldnt be shopping it if we didn't have it. Swan's a [censored] and he has plenty of mates around the comp who are as equality hypocritical. In reality 4....5....what difference. ..they wont have it !!
  4. Are we getting screwed. They get someone who cant get on the park. We get someone who can....just saying
  5. Cant ppl see whats happening. ?? Mitch wanted out or we wanted Mitch out. Spin merchants go into overdrive. Club as tight as a ..... No leaks...no bad press for club. MFC works with Clark to find new home with good reward to us. This happens. ..spin doctors get out again to sell the thing so appears all done for whatever reasons as suits the end game. MFC come away with as good a result as can be....all keep face...etc etc. Ppl need to step back and look. Put emotional colouring aside.
  6. Adelaide can't just say.. umm yeah ok...thats a sweet deal. Geebus the ferals would burn the place down and drown the club's admin in Southwark !!! Its all pantomime
  7. in all honesty. How do we know ( treachery aside ) that hes not doing this ?Im over him as well but have a sneaky feeling we're running this.
  8. Yes...but want him to convince another club he can
  9. Seriously ??Hmmmmmm
  10. Because Ron the MFC iS running it to our advantage, all things considered. MC is towing OUR line I reckon not other way round.
  11. nuppAm looking at this glass half full. We get rid of a nqr (another) and will get a bit of something we can add to the war chest. We get rid of a half hearted I' a leader's [censored] and get serious coin to help garner a game changer. Rivers was never much of a loss ( for mine ) Seriously DC this is opportunity...not calamity.
  12. TSFKA...you have to get realistic. It current market values that apply. As they say in property you make your money at the point and time of buying. ..not selling. We fukked that up. Cant expect sympathetic rewards now. We move on.
  13. Hate ?? Really ???Like to send them some chocolates and a crate of beer. Thanks Cattery.
  14. The other aspect to this that others have touched upon and I really like, is the message it shouts. MFC open for business. We're intent on getting better; come join us ( and we'll pay the right person bucket loads and reward his prior club handsomely. Even if we don't land Danger you can be assured either another player and/or his management will be looking on interested. That in itself may work well for us...I.e. first in, best dressed gets the lollies. Love trade time...it's fascinating entertainment
  15. makes car-pooling easier
  16. All of this reminds me of something else, but has a similar moral. Dont ask dont get As I grew up as a spotty teenager and into early adulthood a girl that was sort of in the circles I went around in ( literally sometimes..lol ) happened to turn form a not so ugly duckling into a drop dead model. A lovely lass, not at all affected ( character wise ) by her new found popularity At times over a drink etc I noticed she was less happy than shed been years before. I thought that odd. The world had come to her so what was wrong. It turned out she often spent a lot more time than she preferred alone . Seems men were afraid to talk to her, to ask her out etc for surely they would be rebuffed ans surely this gorgeous woman had any number of suitors. Turns out she didnt as nearly everyone thought the same thing. The point is ....dont assume. Dont just accept that no one wants to play for us. That no one might not be enticed. Dont automatically think another Melbourne based club would win hands down should Patty decide on a move. And here is where i think the New Melbourne is doing it ok, they are on the front foot asking, putting it out there. Again dont ask, dont get. You just never know what the answer might be and dont always accept the first answer as fait accompli . Yes we might get knocked back but sometimes persistence pays off.....sometimes get you called a stalker...lol My friend gave me very good advice... Believe in yourself, it cant hurt to ask, and more than once.
  17. This 'll sound silly in a way...I think I'll enjoy watching him...he has verve
  18. its quite interesting isnt it. Paul Roos ( and by association the rest of the club ) is playing the line as espoused by himself re FA etc. Hes on the front foot selling the "trade now or suffer later" message. He's showing all that the world of FA is well and truly here and it isnt all good news. However you can minimise your loss or indeed turn it to opportunity if you're open to a new way of thinking. When is Adelaide ever going to get picks 2 and 3 again ?? I mean its theorectically possible I guess but extremely unlikley. A classic case of outlook reversal here. Maybe the two in the bush is worth the one in the hand !!!
  19. I tend to agree.. would see harry as a 4-5 season player. His experience and ethics are a dynamic changer. A wet behind the ears kid is just another ticket in the lottery. Having said that it will be interesting to see what we can get away with for Mr Lumumbas transfer
  20. sensational !!!! They've got to be happy with that
  21. Maybe Harry and Hoges can get a ball , go to the park. The former can practice kicking to the latter
  22. Still the best option isnt it. I dont think we'd lament much seeing M Clark on their LTI list
  23. As an aside , how marvelously it seems to have slipped under the noses of many that we MUST ( heads up from awful house likely ) be getting pick 3 and Frawley is definitely gone ( no surprise granted )
  24. Do I really think we'll get him; probably not. That's Mr Reality Do I really want him at Melbourne ; you bet !! That's Mr Hopeful However the dance of subterfuge that is Trade season rarely moves to either a normal beat or recognisable choreography. It is however a game of bluff, double bluff, counter bluff and bluff and bravado. Often things are not as they seem and even when they are they can change. What we see currently is in the main clubs and players/managers testing the waters. They often can't be seen to be too enthusiastic about this or that lest a perceived value or price rises as a result. Some trades/moves become simple ( relatively ) Lumumba being a prime example; I'm outta here , I want to go there. Do it - make it happen.. Done Then there's the rest. Opening gambits, tentative refusals ,coy interest, blatant lying, changes on the fly, opportunities seized. Any combination can happen , even all of the above. It's horse trading 101. What if, how about, not good enough , interested but.....and so we go on. Though some things can be sorted prior to the commencement of the official trading period even as our learned poster Red Leg suggest some can be a very 'old deal ' a lot of deals only really gather legs and speed once other deals/trades happen. It's the domino effect. Sometimes some very surprising results happen that could not possibly have been realistically entertained at the beginning. The thing is, players and clubs alike can change minds after a rethink or as other permutations unfold. I still don't think its likely Danger will be a Dee, but I don't write it off out of hand as being 100% impossible either. Words are words.... Actions can be vastly different
