HH I have always wanted to think the same thing, that it made sense for the Aints to apprentice McCartin to the role. But footy is footy and odd things happen ( often to us..lol ) Not long now

Not really ( missing anything ) but with 18 teams there cant be equity in all of this no matte where you start in at. Five teams play the buggers twice. Hawks, Saints, Tiges, Pies and Roos. So be it -
So that makes this thread for our #3 selection Christian Petracca whist over here http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?/topic/37538-the-patrick-mccartin-thread/?p=1029402 will take you to the land of McCartin !!

Now thats a very good question. I think it does depend on the individual as we all rebound somewhat differently. What he JH HAS learnt cant really be un-learned. His experience is still experience. His condition might go to another question , related though. I would have thought, and yes is just my h-o , that as Jesse ramps up his training and does his preseason then hed be pretty ripe to go . I suppose its up to others to climb walls ad kick down doors but even then they'll only get noticed, no guarantee , nor real "NEED" to pick them round 1 -

What if he does, what if he doesnt. I seriously dont see that as an automatic 'pick the noobie' case scenario as RPFC has highlighted there are others , already established and experienced to fulfill these roles whilst the new kid gets some education. -

Sorry to hear youre brainless Bob, must make life hard. Theres a vast difference between selecting a KPF and an ancillary role player. Wouldnt you say ? -

Hogan will have particpated in the better part of 3 preseasons before he hits the grass in 15. Not a squeaky clean progress though out all of that but thats a bit of a difference as compared to where anyone else will start from. As part of the " we dont need another saviour" maxim now entrenched at the club we dont need Mccartin to start the season. We do need to develop him or whoever into playing AFL -

and its the same wall thatd be there at any decent club Nasher. No more walk ups. Earn it...and thats exactly what Roos insists. if youre good ...you can climb a wall...thats the point -

Seriously ffs Nasher hes already played 15 games of Magoos cracking nearly 40 goals. Hes HAD experience against men sorry..Paddy done what to date ?? If you think he and McCartin are coming from the same base then Im sorry ...your cred is down the ladder a long way mate -

Why do "I" say it..... because I'm just repeating what our coach has said from day dot upon arrival. He lets them earn their debut and ongoing participation. He doesnt put the spotlight ( read blowtorch ) on the kids he lets them develop. McCartin WONT have played much REAL footy. I don't put a much weight into this TAC and other kiddie ball rubbish ..Its almost like touch footy ffs. He'd need to aclimatise to 'normal' footy fist imho getting used to some more 'focused' attention by backs and in numbers; something he just wouldn't get at the kindergarten level. I cant see Roos playing a KPF straight up. You might..I dont I do expect Brayshaw to start early(ish ) but even then...off a bench, most likely as a sub -

If we get McCartin he wont make an immediate impact for a very simple reason. He wont be allowed to. Roos won't let him out there till hes put at least half a dozen magoo efforts under his belt and put his hand up. -
In simple terms my wants for picks 2 and 3 are that we just get footy players.. Kids who have shown a penchant to actually play and take on the game. I'm so sick to death and over this 'elite' shlt I cant tell you. Elite reminds me of the idea of that 'extraodinary girl" that we all imagined we wanted/needed only to discover it was an illusion and just a high maintenance headache. Why does that sound familar !!

yeah...but its not about us... -
The problem with this statement is it tries to exert the notion of inadequacy with the first whilst suggesting the latter will triumph. Even if Wines got no better than he is currently ( something id seriously doubt but will entertain for the sake of it ) then he is still one of the leagues most effectual proven mids. Id happily take this for the next 10 seasons. We have few like him on our list currently. As to the latter its till all speculative. Even if he manages to step up hes still behind. No one bar possibly yourself generally accepts ( especially with hindsight ) that this was the correct one. What is is...is our lot and we'll work with it.

hey..I did the same thing earlier..
