Roos: AFL players not watching enough footy
beelzebub replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
Hardly a throw-away consideration. basketball doesn't fight for audience like footy does here Another view is that in the US they might be ridiculously OVERPAID.. that's their lot 'tisn't apples and apples...is it ? -

US market is billion$ They're not underpaid -
TMac has always had endeavor. What he lacked ( past tense ) was polish..and to a degree consistency and ability to kick reasonably I and many others lamented this and dished it to him for these qualities . However it would be doing the lad a great dis-service to not recognise he has seemingly applied himself and is ironing out these niggles. He's stepped up;well done. I'm hoping this new improved Tmac ver 5.2 stays and grows/refines more. One would hope his all game 100% effort is infectious.

records at dons and all is good. .. for time being -
he wasn't his usual self...but probably not alone reason to sub out.

shhh...heresy surely !!!
-
it does in all seriousness depend upon who's in the team.

Roos: AFL players not watching enough footy

Their whole playing career. ..is intense. That means everything is ramped up. If they don't get that...they don't belong. !! -
I for one am VERY VERY interested in the McCartney effect. itll take a while I know. In some ways hes just as...if... as much as Roos an inspired appointment. I expect Goodwin to invigorate the team with a 'merciless attack' attitude. but, surprisingly, still...it's all about potential Im so sick of potential

this season has shown some very disappointing and disturbing attitudes. only 2 games in and already one eye's peeled to the eos circus. quite frankly the players talk shlt. they all say rah rah...lets go boys...all for one yeehah...then lay down like larry the lamb ffs line them up and I'll happily tell it to their faces btw. Only about half a dozen deserve to escape that We've got some of the best in the business ( supposedly ) in charge... what do we get ...same ol same ol granted first win in rnd 1 for god knows how long...but really...thats it then put the cue away ?? seriously ??

yeah.,...wouldnt want them to all take an interest in their meal ticket would we. Think its a bit too cushy for some -
Ironic really...Millers back Roosey still gets a crack at molding him.... as a coach instead.

THE DRUG SCANDAL: AFL TRIBUNAL DECIDES

nor expect to read much in the little paper either. -
you mean that bloke who was often running PAST other Demons in an effort to do SOMETHING ?? just curious
-
I actually would like to see this at some stage.
-
Cant see anyone who knows where the sticks are being dropped. Newton far from the worst
-
Roos might be wanting to make a statement...."everything comes from EFFORT". No good having 'talent' if the talent cant be bothered.
-
Roos isnt one for mass changes ...id agree. I might think that Roos would /should consider the team as having supposedly been further down the track and will be quite disappointed in a few( who ought to know better and have tried harder ) I dont know that ALL of Garland, Howe and Vince would be dropped but its from those I think hed select..Conversely...Probably not all 3 from the Casey game to be elevated but Id think its from those that hed select. But he might make 3/4 changes instead of just 2. If it were to ever get back to the point whereby players feel cozy because "mass changes' dont happen then we've learnt nothing
-
I have a sneaking feeling Roos will need to stamp his authority. He knows full well what it takes to get a team up and running. He'll know what it is to get a team to play as a team. He'll without doubt be looking to instill some players for whom the understanding of 100% is thorough. I think PR might be having to go a bit more back to basics than he'd like. He'll change in and out those who will play 4/4 of 'effort' footy Garland and Howe might be having to look over shoulders.. I dont think Bernie is quite up to speed. Michie ,Grimes and the Greek may have done enough to get a look in, especially if Roosey's looking to bring in 'effort' and reward it.

THE DRUG SCANDAL: AFL TRIBUNAL DECIDES
beelzebub replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Im not sure how this tribunal could be comfortably satisfied to whack dank and not so comfortable as to excuse the players. AFL just want the 'worms' to go away. Im not even sure ASADA will bother to appeal.
