  1. concurFooty is a few hours of argy bargy Its tickle time compared to war. I also aagree with the good wife who grrr's and rolleyes when the ads for ANZAC footy come on with the suggestion if similar traits and heroism etc. Its good that a game can draw attention and solicit respect for history etc...but footy is just a game . Everyone goes home after. Looking forward to tonight though.
  2. well its probably more than....but funny none the less.
  3. Ings has had his nose out of joint since he was 'relieved ' of his office and hardly ever lets an occasion pass without having his little swipes at former employer. He ought to know better about what WADA actually have to show to a non vested CAS
  4. this is nothing really about Essendon. Theres a principle and associated precedent at stake. Think world not little AFL.
  5. if it were but one moment. Alas there are dozens to select from. There are aspects to Jacks game i really like. He has a beautiful kick. He knows to to put them too but there a lot remiss also. What has brought focus on some events is that it goes to the heart of whats looked upon as a non negotiable in the game, that is when its your turn to go...you go. You dont duck, shirk or loiter....you GO. He seldom does at these pivotal moments and this brings the microscope upon himself.
  6. Jackaub.... Just as a consideration, what would happen if they(WADA) didn't appeal ?
  7. just put me on ignore simple.. Like I'd care.Watts often shirks. He's not aggressive in the game. He's talented but not nearly as effective as those talents would suggest. He's not lambasted over every incident...just mainly the ones that cost us.
  8. 2nd rule dont take them off (eyes on ball )
  9. Wada have no choice.. Sink or swim. A lot on the line here.
  10. Funny coming from Duck....he 'owned' the footy field. So arrogant that just didn't care. On the field. .amazing player...off... Sorry Duck...you're quackers mate if you cant see Jacks shortcomings
  11. Im not convinced there's a bottomless pit of money as far as footy is concerned. The networks are struggling and the whole industry is bound to morph over these coming years.Im aware the CBA will forecast another truckload (bigger) of gold but i have my reservations. Your notion of fair value or even unders might eventuate or not. Either way Howe wouldn't be worth it it the context of the players that would surround him on our list then. The Geelongs and Hawthorns understand very well true value. The money of our cap will need to go somewhere of course. Probably better choices to come though than throwing it at Howe.
  12. Weve got some players coming through. He's (jh) hardly irreplaceable id have thought.
  13. Is it so much about Howe... as when ?
  14. sorry squire but that's leaning towards the preposterous.WADA will appeal as to not means packing up shop and letting it be open slather. Possibly one of the most important cases in its history. On another note I'd be taking anything Burnside utters with a bag of salt. Hardly a more singular viewist exists. Lol
  15. Yeah..... Still Nah !!
  16. I stand/sit corrected....mea culpa (Bloody auto spellcheck !!)
  17. Ernie we certainly aren't a lightweight. We constantly hit above our weight. In Olympics were highly competitive and visual. In many other World Competitions we've achieved ?champion Status in many and bloody close often in others. Think ...in no order. Surfing Marathon Triathlon sailing Rugby Cricket even Soccer they notice us. Freestyle Skiing Snowboarding and I could go on. We're up there Just because Footy is relatively unknown beyond these shores ( even if now played in some manner in at least 18 countries probably more now) doesn't mean WADA won't see this as preeminent in its cause.
  18. The thing that irks for the many is that it seems plainly obvious that the AFL had a desired/preferred outcome/ decision from the Tribunal and it was THEIR tribunal after all; not a truly independent one. Despite the protestations that all was above board and the 3 were of course beyond reproach it has to be asked how the same set of events and evidence produced two variances of viewpoints and deliberations from the same people but of two parties ( players and dank ) Quite frankly this couldnt smell more if given a bath in Eau de WerribeeFarm !!! Some ask why any appeal to CAS would result differently ? Well, for starters it would all be viewed with consistency. 2nd. The idea of comfortable satisfaction is not only understood, its applied. Thirdly, those running the show have no vested interest in the sport(s) concerned. They actually arbitrate as opposed discriminate. You might also say they are far more au fait with being down with Mallards as distinct with My Lords being done with fate.au
  19. Dare I say it...should we get our act together somewhat this season with 6-8 wins and with our Coacing panel I'd say we look a markedly better destination for kids wanting back into Vic than the Bluebaggers. They're going nowhere fast imho.....and with Mouse at the Helm...fmd...it's a mad house lol. Carlton are a shambles. It's wonderful.
  20. I can't see ASADA believing the AFL capable of any independent thought or unbridled judgements. My guess is sport "overseeing" is set for a huge shake up in Oz. These self vested tribunals may become a dinosaur of the past.
  21. Yeah.......nah !!!
  22. Consistency. ..AFL.....aaaaargghh !!! Lol
  23. Keep in mind WADA and Danks will be appealing to two different bodies.
