succint...and sadly true.About the only saving grace, after collecting the 4 points, is that it could have been worse. Suppose we can be thankful it wasn't. Saints will be worried now undoubtedly
-
Better to have options i guess. Like Nasher/others still not my preference. ..but....
-
A win is a win....so why don't I feel entirely ecstatic !! phew...what a durge of a game
-
still..id be watching for anyone who isnt 'on' today and get him into the game (anb) sooner rather than later. Any lacklustre efforts by us will simply lower the pressure on the paddlepops and give them a leg up... to be avoided at all costs...imho

washed down with a VB i presume

The AFL is a joke...run by clowns.
-
He was indeed a fwd when recruited but not necessarily recruited as a fwd. Was put down the rear very early ob from memory.
-
point taken...was just thinking aloud and in general. I suspect the notion of Tmac fwd wasnt limited to this season but as an idea in general.
-
Jeffy the least of my concerns. How does it go....hard to soar like an eagle.....

Which is it...you either wish to curry your narrative with the nonsense of roundabout winability, which you rightly discard or reintroduce it if suits. The correct analysis is we have won few games despite nearly winning more but finding a way to lose. There is nothing of that stance to defend as such for its simply the truth. We are currently as bad as the ladder describes. The scoreboard is the one stat that cant lie nor can it really distort for it is what it is....the barometer of the particular contest. You either win or you lose. We do more of the latter. As is quipped; the more things change, the more they stay the same. Must have been authored by a Melbourne supporter!

C and B . You choose a perspective. I see another. Btw..weve won how many ?...more the point really is how many games have we found a path to defeat when seemingly marching to victory. Facts are most inconvenient often.
-
Interesting The premise of the op boils down to it all about the day( one team v whoever) I agree. On most days we seem to play sub par.. thats the problem . Simple as that

summed it here

If folk want a foil for Hogan then Pedersen is the better bet..Leave Mac down back. Id actually consider Cam as a fill in FF with licence to lead far. Hogan as CHF..and just create havoc..wherever Cam CAN mark and not to shabby a kick. If not relied upon as the MAIN man..hed do fine . ( cant believe we've come this far after we all wanted him off the list..lol ). If you had Maxxy as 1st ruck he could ( though unfashionable these days seemingly ) rest at FF whilst Cam pinch hits

We arent setting the bar terribly high if TMac is the answer forward. ..and he isnt. Tom has the making of a decent back. Hes shown it but is all over the shop currently. It smacks of abject desperation that so many see this holiday down the sharp end as the panacea of our kicking (a score ) ills.

Many seem to forget it was Hirds experience and vicarious relationships with the shadowy dodgy chemist types which got the whole ball rolling in the first place. The programme was his baby. He liaised with Dank and such and it would stretch logic beyond breaking that he didnt know what was being jabbed. Be like a conductor not knowing the music

yes and no. I/we thought we had this lot covered...and therefore youd think we had the cattle. Given we were pantsed by a second rate lot...you then have to conclude we dont. Even if above the shoulders weve got players who struggle. Won't do !!
-
i spectated the game quite unemotionally Nasher. It was rubbish for the most part. Those i went with and also sat near to were a mix of red/blue...red/black and all quite interesting to talk to. General consensus..we have some decent players already..and some coming through...just no real idea as to how to put a good game of footy together.translation....a moving shambles

Delistings/trades at end of the season
beelzebub replied to Northern Summer's topic in Melbourne Demons
or just astute investing. I dont read much into that as such. -
I didn't pick us to win v Geelong. Was happily wrong but in reality its but a bizarre aberration of the real trend. Just calling what i see. No sugar coating
-
because we always play so well after it normally.. hangon ..wait..

sums up yesterday very well ( unfortunately )To this i would add some decisions, of very dubious quality, in so far as where you kick it. I was almost amused when Watts managed to pick out a bomber amongst about 3 options of Dees with a long raking pass from one wing to opposite flank. Why such a low percentage play ? Unusual , even for Jackie. Another instance of a kick placed poorly into the fwd region. Kick went pocket side of player but to advantage of defender. Had it been directed more to the all but unmanned square our bloke could have turned his bomber inside out and run onto ball and straight to goal. These are the sort of smarts we lack (big time ) Was surprised also how seldom a players mans the goal line when set shots of 35-40 are taken. seems like the mindset gets so focussed on defending weve forgotten the art of attack !!!
-
not really.. maybe the stat...not the possession that counts
-
Saints.. were over a 100 points different against bombers alone. Lions not disgraced against Freo. Like your optimism...just dont share it

Which games ?
