  1. I agree. This whole OOB stuff is bullshlt imho. Who can often predict what an oval Ball will ACTUALLY do ? To highlight the inconsistency and ridiculousness of it all. At a ruck contest along the boundary the ball can be thumped deliberately back over the line to advantage ( as it ought ) . Two players contesting a ball in general Play.... can't.
  2. Interesting concept. Comfortable. Comfort often comes from familiarity, which in turn often the result of time spent after a fashion. Sounds a lot like practice.
  3. Tried and true....is that like practised ?
  4. I disagree and its why the better goal kickers in the game spend hours upon hours practicing their technique and such. Its about making it a second habit....i.e if and when a situation surfaces the instinct kicks in, its not a NEW situation.
  5. He is an individual........just not a very sound one !!
  6. As such , no. But he does actually guide the play better out of defence . He seems to have a better idea about how to, more strings to his Bow. We may never agree Maurisey. I can live with that.
  7. Might be a good idea to knock goal less qtrs on the head. There's no such thing for mine as too much goal kicking practice. Arguably you also need drillsthat replicate particular conditions or situations as well as just set shots.
  8. He's not the only one. Should have had one for yonks. I mean...The Game is only about amassing a better score than your opponent. You'd think goal kicking efficiency would be near the top of importance ?
  9. tbh...and its not for the sake of harping upon Tmac's limitations but those attributes are just those of a DOER. And fair enough he does do those things. That of itself has nothing to do with leadership and as you rightly suggest he cant organise ( particularly well) Ive maintained that he makes a good 2nd tall back. We need a FIRST. Currently with Tom and Oscar its a bit like the blind leading the blind. Frost is very raw but has a much keener eye and sense of purpose, as well as occasion.
  10. Hurley has to date shownmuch more poise and discretion in play choices. He IS a FB. Tmac isn't. Tmac....really...You rate him as a leader, especially at back ? Don't share that opinion at all.
  11. Pass on both. One wont be on the park terribly often in any useful or meaningful way, the other has out priced himself to our needs.
  12. Are you are suggesting that simply because Tmac will have 100 games he is an effective leader ? I think its very much more about the ability to lead... Tmac cant. We need someone who can to organise the lads down back
  13. I wouldn't mind snagging an under utilised McKenzie to help mentor Frost for a few years.
  14. Courtesy of Titus O'Reily excerpt from The Monday Kneejerk. pretty well sums it up !! West Coast (66) v Melbourne (60) "Melbourne had to work incredibly hard to manufacture this loss. They won every statistical category ever invented, even non-footballing ones and still managed to find a way to not win. The Demons would be kicking themselves that they lost this and based on their performance, they’d miss. Countless times the Demons streamed forward, only to invent new ways to turn the ball over. It was a performance eerily similar to The Simpsons scene where Sideshow Bob repeatedly steps on rakes. It would be too much to ask for Melbourne to learn from their mistakes during a game. While the Demons were inept, the Eagles hardly won any admirers with this performance. Make no mistake, the Demons lost this, the Eagles certainly didn’t win it. If this is the best they can do at home, expect the Eagles finals stint to be shorter than Mal Meninga’s political career."
  15. So this has to at least be somewhat attributable to coaching. We aren't nearly near creative' on game days for mine. The only way to break open a stymie is to change it up. We hardly ever do. Im thinking/hoping 17 will see a change.
  16. with Mickey Mouse as coach..... how odd all that now seems in todays light
