May is more than a handy FB. That said time can be cruel and it is definitely catching him. May is now part of a wall where as he WAS one once. That not to have a go at him just calling it as it is. He no longer has full dexterity. He struggles a little at times and hes not alone on the team at being frustrated that these things are now his reality. I can't see Steve being part of our next tilt. I can't see a few others either. So 🤔.. is May on that list of players no longer "absolutely required" ?? Unfortunately for May he isn't going to get better as a player. How long before he ( like any player can get ) becomes more a liability than an asset ? Has he still another year of really good footy in him ?? Is it time we move the magnets ?? Whoever is taking on the reigns of this team has some very important decisions. Not the least of which is how and where the likes of May, Lever dare I say TMac sit in among plans going forward. I've wondered for some time if all of this has something to do with 2 things .. they being both connected and yet not . Very Schroedinger ..lol Wanting to see the make-up of the club going into 26.. I have my suspicions ( and that's all they can be ) that various managements are talking in the background and have been season long. There's a bit of powder being kept dry in all of this. Quite fascinating really. There are though two events yet to happen as been pointed out. Freo yet to exit for the year and Dees yet to construct its off field brains trust. Are these purely parallel non consequential developments ? Quite possibly. But it's curious for mine. But to me if one was staying in can think of no reason to impede the announcement of his re-signing other than he hasn't There's a missing link.... well, maybe not missing, just not apparent. Well, the odd thing is in his earlier days he was indeed quite maverick and laterally minded. Even until 6-6-6 he was up for trying things. It never loses irony that 6-6-6 was solely designed to thwart a Demon coach... Strategy.... I'll give him some kudos he has more than an idea as to how game can be played. Translating and applying it however seemed to be a different kettle of fish. Holistically I think he's quite good. The day game and micro strategy, possibly not his forte. Good luck to him , I suppose. Doesn't particularly figure highly in my thoughts or concern.

I can understand the suggestion he doesn't have world shattering burst speed. Hell.. delist him !! He is generally quick enough. More importantly he has footy brains, footy skills and who'd da thunk plays really good footy. He carries himself as far more accomplished and confident than his mere years ought to allow. As he gets better ( now let that sink in.... he will still evolve) and he becomes wisercand more experienced his craft really knows no limit. Every now and again kids come along and make you sit up and get you watching the game with elan. Here is such a lad. Yep, he'll stuff up from time to time but the upside is massive. He just looks purposeful and capable. Can we find a few more pls.
