  1. For all they do well..the Hawks played a less than brilliant strategy... against a marauding team...in the WET !! Strange stuff up by Clarko really. We'll beat them next week
  2. Go hard or go home. Those pvssies need a smile wiped. Time to make Danger and his fellow kittylitterers CRY !! ( and Scott's head explode )
  3. Relax... we've got this...Dees by 5 ( insert which ever happened goals/points ??? ) By hook or by crook we seem to be morphing a little from haphazardly moving the ball forward to a blitzkrieg with method. Our two previous games decided by less than a goal's worth of points. I seriously believe we're playing much better and smarter than in either/both of those outings. Scott despite being particularly easy to deride is no fool. He'll want to put us firmly on the back foot. The first quarter is about composure... getting the nerves and sense of occasion under control. That said you don't play finals at 99% There's no tomorrow if not playing well today. I'm sure Lewis is wording up the lads of what to expect...how to deal with expectations and how to get on with the footy. I honestly think we'll win because we're a better side than got pipped on those two previous occasions.. and they aren't. We're learning how to win games...not just play footy. I feel a little nostalgic. Those around in 87/88 might remember. We were robbed in '7 and '8 became a mare. The swell is similar though. Can we do this....yes we can !!
  4. Reasonable invariably refers to reason. Stupidity is of the stupid. Some can discern. Some just don't like the idea. To them it's unpalatable. That's just preference.
  5. Just highlights the stupidity of that post. Nothing more. There's been for the most a reasonable discussion about the various aspects of Hogan and what might prevail or transpire. None of this has any relevance to another's ridicule.
  6. Then again Mr Pony Man...it would surprise many if the subject was left alone. Someone once suggested....youre only as good as your next game.. That can be expanded upon in many directions...but ultimately its common denominator is what value a player to the team/club....not hypothetically...but really.
  7. are we even allowed to have anyone called Maguire at Melbourne !!!! lol ( yes..i know spelt differently Martha )
  8. A discussion with said PR at the Duke I think it was a number of years back , after he had aired the notion of Free agency and what you ( as a club do to 'contain " it ) held that its not so much a matter of a player proving anything...its about a club KNOWING exactly where it sits in the whole bigger picture. Yo always want to retain your best players but you are always going to see players move around. His thoughts were pretty much simply you get on the front foot and dont wait to be held to ransom as it were. Mr Roos looked at things very holistically...as do I . Again he was very matter of fact. I dont believe he was referring to Hogan at all as that wouldnt have been on the radar back then. It was a generic style discussion. At this moment I insert Jesse into that scenario. I would be very surprised that if Jesse was playing with us next year it wouldnt be on a new contract.
  9. strangely thats exactly what Roos discussed. Its about a club
  10. My understanding is the new elgibility guidelines ( yet to be sanctioned by the AFLPA ) would have Jesse as an RFA at next seasons end. Happy to be corrected on that.
  11. I think it was actually Roos who suggested you ought to try to get an expected free agent to sign a year out...or indeed look to make the best of the situation with a view to trade. He was just being very matter of fact if recall this correctly. Whilst I concede Moonies acknowledgement that Hogan owes nothing more than already agreed to it would be a prudent course of action to protect our ( MFC ) position Ive no problem at all with the notion as outlined by X Flash My focus is on us winning a flag...and who knows what might happen still this year... But after that the EOS circus I think will throw up quite a few situations and offers that are going to test the mettle of clubs. Ours being one
  12. @The Mighty Demons Jolly good show old chap Well done.. it certainly is ours for the taking !!!
  13. @Deemania since 56 quite an interesting post. In general I'd agree the finals ought to see a more balanced attention by the umps. I'd also expect the games to be allowed to flow even more the deeper into September it goes. Short of all in carnage finals get a different treatment.
  14. Am currently reading Red Fox. Fascinating that all of this is de rigeur. This always should have been so,but I can fathom it's not always possible with all people. 'Beaudy' Norm
  15. The curse of Norm Smith will only be lifted by playing as he did and by his creed. All for one and one for all. Go Dees.
  16. Should have offered him another long stack and a keg of beer
  17. Try hitting the image...not the link below
  18. Again ...thanks Bernie. Let's make Danger cry again...just for him. Dees....in-VINCE-able
  19. Winners are grinners... let's wipe theirs Smug lil bastards...Johny come late to this year's September. Kickem to the curb!!
  20. maybe move this thread to the delicatessen ?
