The SCG has always played effectively half a kick shorter. It's not really that much shorter, just plays that way. As I view it, the new kick in strategy will put the swannies practically into attack position from that long kick in , especially against teams with poor defense structure. I fear we'll be opened up like a can of beans.

The honest answer is no-one really knows. The problem, as such with chunk , since that very first game I saw against North , is that he's a see ball get ball type. Nate doesn't play a very complex style. He's a meat and three veg in and under inside mid. Occasionally he finds the sticks which always surprises me as he can hardly ever find a team mate with a properly weighted pass. But he is Melbourne through and through and he's been there when it counted. Unfortunately...the game is going past him at a great rate of knots . He's gone from reliable (in a fashion ) to liability. Funny thing is he's still plays a more accountable game than some, and that's saying something !! I guess Jones gets to play until someone really pushes him aside. That might be season's end at that might be it. Season's heading for a bust anyway. I honestly have no idea where he should play now. I'm not sure it matters.

I'm not sure any ground particularly suits us especially a smaller ground against very quick opposition. Just imagine ( painful as it is ) just how quickly Sydney can go coast to coast on their beloved turf ( non-lawn, paddock ) ?? From extended kickins..quick flick to Buddy... goodnight Irene. @Lucifer's Hero spot on. He still has one very important role to play...something he in a fashion will need to step up to..Be THAT on field General. Rally the troops and taps on the bum ( sts ).. keep the lads interested and focused out there. He's a few yards behind the game now but he can surely invoke players to strive, even when things seem dead against you. He has proved quite resilient. He can pass this on. Please

not to me...to the players Smokey.. They have provided the players with something that approaches an impossibility. But actually in a fashion the FD, the Club, is beholden towards its members to provide something that is competitive and works My concern is that players will become disillusioned and somewhat pessimistic, if only quietly to themselves if they deem they have been given a stinking fish. Football is about confidence as much as anything. I have NO confidence in this style of play. I wonder how many players do ??

Totally agree. Flow chart stuff...if this.. then that..etc etc There's really not much to it. Footy by its nature is rather organic in play. You can't possibly hope to be only applying one 'style' with no real adaptability and expect ongoing success. You need to be a tree... we're trying to be a moving wall.

This is it.. a lot of Rusty's comments about recruitment and training at Hawthorn are valid. As you say not the alignment issue.
