I can if they get out the middle quick enough. Our defence works best when opposition is rebounding as they get a chance to set the wall and read the ball. That , imo, amounts to nought if they do to us what we used to do to others... bang out the middle...eyes low hit a lead up. Brisvegas are no slouches in this manner.

Those suggesting this may become a relatively high scoring game...I suspect you may be correct.. But this may not be a good thing...for us. I thought we'd need 12 goals against the saints... as had thought theyd kick a bit better.. We got there. I can easily see the Lions getting to 15/16 (more )goals tonight... so we must better that.. I'm just struggling to see where that emanates from. Yep..Trac had a night out last week...Dont count on the same... Fagan will set about a bit more attention to Christian.. I suppose any number of our lot could bob up and slot a few... the problem is for me I can't see them ALL doing that. Call me negative Nancy (or whatever is your fav ) ...but I just dont see us kicking more than about 10-11 goals and that for mine is about 5 or 6 short. I've been struggling with what this actually suggests ( i know some would add nothing new..boom tish...whatever )... but as you suggest TU it is far more likely about what it may BRING to our game than about any "dropping"... The FD are , to me, definitely trying to do something here thats a bit 5 into 4 and so something had to give. Theyve tried ( not altogether successfully imo ) to recreate some connection and straightness going in. It strikes me thar there may be a concious decision to ramp that up and the only way to really tell is to make these calls... revise the magnets...see what happens...not at traing but under fire. Think we'll have a clearer understanding when the team selection comes out. Im intrigued.

Do you have a problem with reality ? I want us to win friday. For any number of reasons...but there are hurdles. If we don't it ought to set off alarms. But if we dont then we're going into sept with any number of questions upon us. For mine...we dont have a finals winning forward line.. do we even have one ? It's all very higgledy-piggledy atm.. even Goody says as much. Now's not ideal for experimentation...but here we are. Our defence is stellar... May it remain so. I always get the impression the MFC board room has some bewitching quality. All who enter it become becalmed and content. Must be a cozy little gig for those so entrenched. Nothing really ever happens. After the sandwiches eaten and reds quaffed its down to the serious work ...of napping. Roffey was ALL about the new home...... ZZzzzzzz... Whenever a daring interloper raises their hand to mount a challenge amazingly the scurrilous memos and emails drop into our inboxes. The recalcitrant incursion is blanketed with the dare devil banished to Coventry. Its obviously more important to suggest something might get done....than do anything. Ahh.. the luck thing. Yes ...often a key ingredient in any venture. Lucky for them... no Oliver,no Fritta... and nothing resembling an on fure forward presence by us. It's intriguing that other teams manage "training runs" over lower placed competition... but we seem to struggle by comparison. Ww simply need to win this...somehow...otherwise they have it over us...and that wont be fun come September

Interesting thoughts. Not sure we have sufficient players able to carry out a successful blitz at present. Happy to be wrong I can only suspect our ability to beat the Lions will again fall to our defenders. We managed a 'whopping' 12 goals the other night with Trac having a night out..he'll need to repeat that again....and have company. I expect we'll need to score in viciinity of 16-18 goals Friday.. and so it , to me, beckons.....from whom. Fagan will have set up big time for this game. It's always about the IFS though. That's not to be deliberately pessimistic or such It's just to acknowledge nothing is a gimme in sport. Fagans had our measure of late. Goodwin will have to be on the ball as the Lions wont hesitate shuffling the magnets to shut down whatever party tricks we intend to employ. We just aren't consistent or settled.
