The Rising Star Thread - Congratulations Jesse Hogan!

I said season thus far, settle those petals daisy cutter! -
vince will go, i think, based upon the speculation heard thus far. i can't comprehend why watts wasn't given a full game at vfl level, other than that we have no one actual worthwhile swapping him with. spencer, toumpas must be persisted with, and given an opportunity. jkh and newton are borderline. pedersen the same, probably holds his spot to give spencil a chop-out. OUT: vince (suspended), jkh, watts (both omitted) IN: viney, jetta, michie B: Jetta - Dunn - Garland HB: Salem - T. McDonald - Howe C: Lumumba - N. Jones - Viney HF: vandenBerg - Dawes - Brayshaw F: Pedersen - Hogan - Garlett Foll: Spencer - Tyson - Cross I/C: Toumpas - Newton - Michie Sub: Stretch Emerg: Neal-Bullen - Gawn - Grimes we are so, so slow and stodgy and lacking in gneuine rotations through the midfield. even if anb gets a go, unfortunately he's not quick either. i'm hoping petracca, if he comes back next year to full capacity (unlikely, generally takes 18-24 months to recover from a knee reco), does not move at glacial pace; we desperately need some leg speed.

it looked like sydney put the cue in the rack.
-
watts should never have been sub. either drop him or play him in the vfl; he adds nothing to midfield rotations, so roos once again shows - as he has admitted in the past - that he has no idea how to use the sub. tommy mac is playing like the best backman in the competition, hogan is going to be a superstar based on current trajectory, i'm loving the look of salem across half-back (no way i'd be moving him into the midfield, he and tommy were the only players running the ball), brayshaw and stretch look super promising, and you can't fault the endeavor of jones, tyson, and old man contributions of cross. but my god our midfield. smashed. absolutely destroyed.
-
Watts came on as the sub and is just loping around. Another poor sub selection. He should've had a full game at vfl level. Playing him as the sub has achieved nothing, just as when Neeld did it. It's his incredible lack of effort that is just destroying to watch. Hogan is just a star in the making. He reads the ball so well. And he can kick em from 50. Sign him up please!!

Even buddy has respect for McDonald's game to remain goalless. (I hope)
-
Should've run all the way to the goal square
-
Garlett to Brayshaw to Hogan from a centre clearance. And kicked accurately. God we need to hold onto this kid.
-
We are so bad Sydney have sent Ted Richards to full forward so that he can get a touch.
-
Tyson's knee a big concern.
-
Tom McD. Salem and Brayshaw good. The rest...not so much. Jones and maybe H okay. I guess. But only just.
-
lowest first half score vs the swans since 1914. with only 40 points in it and swans 2 players down...are we actually NOT out of it?!?
-
i said last with 2-5 wins. i still think that will be the case, although i wasn't expecting brisbane and carlton to be so poor.
-
12 inside 50s. it's not the forwards, it's not the backs...it's the mids. as we've known for some time.
-
training drill for the swans tonight..

good, i hope he gives afl away. it's a high pressure environment. if he can't handle it, get out of it. -
end to end...point. our lack of pressure is woeful.
-
100+ point loss coming. our skills are truly deplorable.
-
if watts was always going to be sub he simply should've been dropped. he's not part of the midfield rotation and he's horribly out of form. i love roos as much as everyone else, but he has no idea how to use the sub whatsoever.
-
GWS currently doing that scary array of midfielders thing against a Lewis / Hodge less Hawks.
-
best footage i've ever seen of rocket was when he was at the dogs with leon cameron on the phone down to the bench, and eade was going troppo about will minson stuffing up, ranting and raving, to the point where cameron screamed 'rocket, rocket, we can't hear ourselves!'. it's absolutely hilarious.

jack watts is currently the greg chappell of the mfc - just like chappell wasn't playing badly, and kept getting out, jack watts is running around and not getting the ball. he looks like he's running around, he's just not running to where the ball is or possibly might be. i would've dropped him and told him to go find the ball, but given that not the messiah swung the ax elsewhere at the selection table, he was probably always going to get dropped. michie is not all there - 0 tackles against freo, and bugger all attempts. even titular boy made more than that. jamar smashed by minson and sandilands, i don't reckon he can go against the 'big' boys anymore. he's okay against the likes of maric, smith, more 'lanky' types, but spencer? fark. something about desperate times, desperate measures... grimes was destroyed by mundy and turned it over again. such a shame he's turned out another monumentally average footballer. -

To be honest I'm expecting Saad to win it based upon season thus far. He's been very good in a pretty disappointing side. Brayshaw, Hogan both looking good and vandenBerg impressive but just a year too old. -
I am enjoying the Pies-Cats game. Clark being outmarked by Motlop and Geelong thrashing the filth.
-
Josh Kelly subbed out, used as the sub, now dropped from gws side over the last three weeks. Would love him.
