  1. our drop off since the back to back wins in adelaide vs the crom and the pear last year has been galling we were top 4 and since then i think we've looked bottom four i expected us to bounce back big time in 2025 but instead we look like the worst team in the competition i don't think the sAcK tHe CoAcH!11!! cries make a lick of difference; he's under contract and it's not going to happen for the time being i'm very disappointed with the performance of the players and the coaching department they have the opportunity to turn it around; can they? i have my doubts
  2. isaiah dudley is TINY google says 168cm but he looks smaller than that even
  3. crom are good to watch - hard running and strong marking think they can definitely make finals this year; first time since they lost the 2017 gf, and with key high picks brought in like fogarty, thilthorpe, curtin, milera, and michelanney plus trades like rankine, dawson making the world of difference if they do make it, it will have been 8 years between finals
  4. we needed some luck, so will take this one
  5. That’s unfortunately not how it works Players nominate the club they want to go to and a deal gets done accordingly The general consensus is Trac would like to be in black and white because that’s who his family all support
  6. his cards were marked midway thru last year when goodwin tore shreds off him publicly in a press conference regarding his performance in the vfl i have low expectations tht he'll ever play a game in red and blue
  7. given that there's been so much talk both this season and last about changing the gameplan to suit modern football, is the gamplan the problem or those that are trying to execute it the problem? as a result, how many more issues will be caused if we try to 'revert to type', as we tried (and failed?) to do in 2024?
  8. we wouldn't be giving him away for 'nothing' - we'd definitely get a first round pick and clear $1m off our salary cap it all comes down to whether or not he wants to go; given what transpired last year and the mealy-mouthed statements since, i can definitely see him trying to force his way out of the club again we need a change at this end of this year; letting a player of the calibre of trac go could be the required action needed to clear out the cobwebs
  9. that seems to be the consensus at this point in time, particularly with the pointy end picks in the 2025 draft set to be - once again - dominated by academy and father / son selections but it's impossible to know how it's going to play out for at least half a decade i reckon fingers crossed lindsay's knee is not as serious as it looked
  10. At 30 years of age at the start of the 2026 season and with his salary of up to $1.5m a year for the next four years plus the injury / attitude concerns… that’s what we’ll get The filth’s 2027 1st round pick and $500k off our books for the next four seasons is probably our best value chance
  11. the biggest issue with the slow ball movement play is that it allows teams to set up defensively, and when we - inevitably - turn it over, they're able to hit us on the counter with speed and quick ball movement the style of play we are trying to execute doesn't work with our current team make-up i'm not sure if it's a fitness issue per se, but it's certainly a team make-up and game plan one
  12. clearly commentating from dorcas st, south melbourne, too
  13. not strictly true; they made three straight elimination finals 2013-15, losing them all, then dipped in 2016 before the glorious 2017-2020 run they developed slowly, much as we did leading up to and including 2018, before the serious dip in 2019, leading to the 2021-23 period
  14. what a moronic revisionist memory
  15. it's thoroughly dee-pressing
  16. dingley are just fantastic to watch god it sucks
  17. a team that is confused as to what the game plan is, and doesn't have the player skillset to execute said game plan, got smashed by a team that is well drilled after a decade's dripfeed of top echelon talent being gifted to them
  18. dunno what it looks like on mobile, but those stats make for ugly reading i can't believe how bad we've got so quickly
  19. that's the mfcss way! (me too)
  20. i would be amazed if we get more than one first rounder for petracca and we'll have to pay him to leave
  21. pickett will definitely be in, turner probably should be, fullarton a chance will lever or windsor be fit? lindsay will be out, and the likes of howes, mcdonald, fritsch, billings, sparrow, and quite frankly petracca who was appalling again today should be first in line to be dropped too
  22. 6: bowey 5: langdon 4: langford 3: chandler 2: sharp 1: oliver top 3 only really worth any actual votes
  23. he'll certainly get far more opportunities in red and blue than in red petracca and pickett are the likely 'highly valuable' assets that we have, potentially mcvee if he doesn't sign on to stay on, and fritsch will be wanted by someone trade options, with some theoretical value: fritsch - second round pick from someone who needs a midsized forward (can see the bears for instance being very keen) mcvee - future first (hopefully) from meth coke petracca - future first from the filth pickett - two firsts over multiple years from flagmantle sparrow - maybe a 3rd round pick players we are stuck with: laurie - contracted til 2026 mcadam - contracted til 2026 delist: billings hore howes verrall woewodin retire: mcdonald melksham potential father / son and academy picks coming in: toby sinnema kalani white it all comes down to what value the top 5 can achieve for us it's got to happen this year tho, before the taswegian franchise comes in and sucks the life out of four or five drafts
  24. Reckon dingley is even more gleeful - they hold the baggers’ 1st round pick
  25. Worst we’ve looked in a long time No positives out of that result Fingers crossed Lindsay didn’t do his acl
