  1. but no coach coming in is going to want to lose the calibre of those players i'm less concerned about jones as he's four games in, but i'd love to know what choc williams has been 'teaching' the players for the most part, it's very hard to think of a single players whose skills haven't regressed
  2. i very much doubt any coach is going to be coming into our club going 'oh, just get rid of two of the best five players, don't worry, i love a long slow rebuild' no chance - any coach who comes in will want to RETAIN our best players, not jettison them
  3. they better not be - if we are going the path of getting a new coach, then it has to be a proper process
  4. That’s the story that’s been going around for several weeks - Watts, Bain, Garlick, but who was the 4th? Stuart Fox also said no, but he’s ex club ceo
  5. fritsch will be out suspended while houston will get off; fullarton in petty out injured with that knee knock that he had in the first quarter i think; lever in sharp out; lindsay in spargo out; brown in sparrow out; laurie in peptides will tear us a new one - zerrett will have a field day running away from our treacle slow midfield i would be pretty amazed if we make five changes, again, but it really does feel like we need to keep turning it over the ironic thing is that it's the likes of petracca and viney that should have their roles under threat, but they are still better at their roles than anyone who can replace them
  6. very laurie - serviceable as an inside mid at vfl level but not knocking the door down, and will likely never get a chance at that role as primary inside mid at afl level
  7. disappointing to lose, but lots to like about fullarton, sestan, bits of aj's game, and bit's of pup brown's game in particular i thought laurie did some good things but some dumb things, and howes gets a lot of the football, turns a lot of it over culley will be interesting to watch as he gets some footy under his belt in 2025
  8. what was that free for? the stream keeps glitching so missed it
  9. copped 2 will probably get off on appeal
  10. fullarton looks like a lock for next week - has 4 half way to half time sestan been very good off half-back and bill laurie deserves a decent go as an inside mid at senior level
  11. you literally go through a scanner before you get to the turnstile it's meant to speed up the bag check process, but they clearly don't pick up someone with a weapon strapped to their leg
  12. yeah i feel like we're going to cop the mother of all hidings last two games lost by 10 goals, and really gc17 felt like a 15-20 goal loss geelong in geelong is - three games i can think of since 1988 - not a happy hunting ground
  13. walsh looks a shadow of his former self, but you can bet he'll still command a pretty penny as a former #1 pick and ostensibly having credits in the bank as a very good player...three years ago kemp is no better than howes imo - very vanilla
  14. this is a bit frightening...
  15. cos the afl knows who pays their bills
  16. can't what now??
  17. filth them gc17? bears bloods gw$ pear? flagmantle? gc17 vs crom might be the match of the round
  18. (said our list managers half a season into having grundy in red and blue)
  19. four, of which white is one at least two of which are regarded as possible top five picks, with the younger uwland brother a likely pick #1 handy for some...
  20. says a lot about where we've been defensively
  21. fwiw, cal twomey believes that kalani white is 'leaning' towards joining the mfc rather than gc17 he also said that he expects him to be - at this very early stage of the year - outside the top 25 prospects in this year's draft crop obviously very early days
  22. i don't think he's rated that highly at this stage, which may be a good thing (i.e. he costs us less to bring him in) or a bad thing (he might not be anything more than a promising prospect) it's so hard to know
  23. rookie me central is the best resource for how the underagers are going; his profile is here someone else on here reported that he's currently the vice-captain of the stingrays as well, which bodes well his round 1 report is encouraging: Stats: 22 disposals, 6 marks, 5 inside 50s One of the more experienced players for the Stingrays, the Melbourne NGA prospect was mostly damaging with his classy left-foot kicking through the game. Sinemma resumed his role on the wing in the first half, looking to break lines and change lanes every time he got his hands on the ball, and sliding inside defensive 50 to aid his teammates in transition. He spent some time on-ball in the second half with mixed results, looking rushed in possession through congestion i'm really hopeful that he'll move into a more inside / out mix of performance rather than just a wing per se - we need him to be able to win his own ball in the contest as well as be damaging on the outside hey, in an ideal world his performance will go through the roof this year and all of a sudden we're not concerned about trading out of the first round of the 2025 draft cos we've got a future star in our midst
  24. i'm currently laden with gloom, but i'm expecting a mother of all hidings our last two games have been, quite frankly, appalling; the midfield seems to have stopped to a halt mfcss writ large - "when things are glum there's worse to come"
  25. lever was always coming to the dees, i thought? may was either us or the filth, and we had the asset - thanks to hogan leaving - to trade for him, whereas they did not, having just finished 2nd
