  1. Not mine. For the 3rd year in a row I used up my trades too soon and just limped into the finals. Still haven't learnt my lesson.
  2. I'll be interested to see how Johnstone goes in the final series. He's a proven finals performer, and I think Voss has brought him back for the last couple of matches because of this.

    Robbo

It's no supportive insider. Robertson made it pretty clear in his interview with Mark Doran that he knows his chances are slim.

    Robbo

I think the Bulldogs would be the most likely to pick him up, especially if Brad Johnson was to retire at the end of the season... So I would not be at all surprised to see Robbo play on next year, and I hope he does.
  5. That was a pretty hard sell to the Bulldogs. Had to feel for him listening to that.
  6. It would be tragic, twice being denied a priority pick by Carlton after they kept us out of the top 4 in 2006 (When they were wooden spooners).
  7. I didn;t make myself clear. I meant I look forward to seeing us put up a fight against Carlton. Not winning, because I think that's beyond us.
  8. I'm slightly embarrassed about the way it's all happened, but I'm sure I'll feel better about it next season. We may not have got the picks in that infamous Carlton game, but I enjoyed holding the moral high ground. That's gone now, but it's what had to be done. I think up until the Port Adelaide game, Bailey and Co were happy to ride out our luck, but that was the turning point. The string of games against Sydney, Richmond and North has given the footy deptartment the perfect list management opportunity, but I wonder if they’ll be shamed into fielding a stronger side this week. I can't wait to smash Fremantle and have a decent crack at Carlton and St Kilda... (Imagine the irony of beating Carlton.)
  9. Really? I haven't been able to watch. Ah well, we have the moral victory, which in our circumstances is the best result. Somehow I don't think Melbourne will be appealing to the AFL. EDIT: Actually, I shouldn't even talk about morals after this game...
  10. MCMAHON GOALS AFTER THE SIREN. TIGERS WIN
  11. Brown goals. Tigers up by 4. This season can't end soon enough...
  12. Miller goals. Dees back in front.
  13. I think it's actually 16.5 points. Richmond's draw with North has them over.
  14. Whelan, Martin, Bennell injured. Dees down to 19 men for the last quarter.
  15. It looks like this was the perfect execution of tanking. For better or for worse, this game was lost at the selection table.
  16. Whelan goal! 11 points in it! The sad thing for Sydney supporters is that we should be winning this comfortably... How's Martin playing? I noticed he has 18 hit outs...
  17. I decided to put a bit on Franklin at $8 to win the Coleman. I need to high five the goal umpire who stood on Fevola's ankle. Hopefully Franklin can reel him in a bit tomorrow.
  18. Nice first post too, BangcokDemon. Welcome to Demonland.
  19. Out of the players you've listed, Blease was the only priority pick, and we may well have got him at pick 19 anyway (at the expense of Strauss) Think what you want, but supporting your team when they're down the bottom of the ladder is hard enough without begrudging the few wins you do have. Personally, I hate feeling this way.
  20. Agree Wiseblood. If the footy department came out and dumped Davey, Robertson, Frawley and Mclean with 'general soreness', we truly would have been the laughing stock of the competition. In light of Stynes' battle, it was never going to be that way. For what it's worth, I fully expect to beat Fremantle, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if we were pipped by Richmond. I wish Demetriou could read this thread. Particularly the part where a rare Melbourne victory is called a "disgrace".
  21. I thought so too, but Broughton is already 22 (turning 23) so he's ineligible.
  22. I don't think that should discredit the win. MAYBE Kerr was rested when he would have otherwise played, but it's a mute point because he's been ordinary all season. As soon as West Coast stepped on the field, I'm sure they were playing to win.
  23. We'll win against West Coast. We accounted for them easily last year, and I do think we've improved since then. Wins against Freo, Port and Richmond are also on the table. If we lose one of them, the Priority Pick will be sewn up.
  24. As luck would have it, bigpond will be streaming every game of round 13 live into England, Scotland and Wales. http://www.afl.com.au/news/newsarticle/tab...69/default.aspx
