  1. Bella Nipotina was never going to lose, I had a fair day, missed by a nostril on either oar and decided not to use a bonus bet on my blackbooked horse (like to use some bonus bets on roughies)in promise of success…. And it ran a cracking race.
  2. Thunderstruck once again was on the charge but just 10 meters too late
  3. Kampfar I mention multiple times, one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen. I have their new album on pre order, can’t wait for it. One of my prize possessions is Live after death original Australian pressing and it’s in mint condition! Strigoi are awesome, saw them at Brutal Assault this year. Gaerea’s new album is great, the new Goatwhore and Watain are also amazing. Hulder EP is also amazing.
  4. Oh man that would have ruled! Tell stories!!!
  5. So you can’t bet on the stakes now and the last has been scratched on Sportsbet
  6. Wacken is 100k, way too many people. BA is 20k and perfect. Czech republic is one of the best countries I’ve ever been too and I’ve been there multiple times, spent 4 weeks there this year, great food, great beers, amazing scenery and walks/ wildlife. I’d happily live there. Check out Behemoths the satanist, it’s a masterpiece.
  7. Seen behemoth multiple times, but when they toured the satanist (their best album for me) and he had just beaten cancer that was one of the greatest gigs I’ve ever seen. Saw Kampfar who are one of my fav bands live at Brutal assault in 2019 and they had their equipment and luggage sent to a different country so played with borrowed instruments and no stage equipment and to this day it’s in the top 3 shows I’ve ever seen, it was so good, my wife and I didn’t speak for about 2-3mins after the gig had ended and we were heading to the next stage, but kept looking at each other mesmerised.
  8. Sounds like a perfect night!
  9. Both songs killer, but trying to add some diversity. Mayhem I don’t mind but never loved, seen them 4 times now and it’s good, but I don’t know, something doesn’t click. But fully acknowledge they started the second wave pretty much, I mean rotting christ were around in 89 and others but it was really mayhem who gave the sound/ riff style and look. I was going to add Agalloch, also Audn is one I love soooooooo much, then you add Behemoth, Taake, Avslut, Windir, Batushka, Wayfinder, tsjuder, Craft, Weigedood, Gaerea, 1349, Asagraum, Necrophobic, blackbraid, Zuriaake, Nordjevel, 1914, Winterfylleth, Dissection and I go on and on and on. 😂
  10. No Motörhead as I was listing Black metal bands only and Motörhead are far from Black metal 😬 Ill check them out. Not heard them but always happy to try.
  11. NFL

Niners sign McCaffrey, cheap this year, 12mil next year. Surprised a bit by this as it takes away the role Deebo plays very very well.
  12. Napalm Death’s Harmony Corruption is a masterpiece, I have that and all Carcass albums on vinyl except surgical steel. Love Carcass, one of my favs. Playing some Bolt Thrower now. I listen to heaps of black metal but love everything from Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, W.A.S.P, Slayer, Megadeth, Testament, Kreator, Entombed, Morgoth, ie I don’t care the genre if it’s awesome I’ll listen to it.
  13. Well I brew it at home…
  14. Lovin it, Friday night with the wife is a few brews and vinyl playing, as recommended I have on Wolves In the Throne Room - Two hunters which contains the song I will lay down my bones amongst the rock and roots. 🤘🏻
  15. Will hopefully be watching each race tomorrow. Not a big fan of moonee Valley in general, but no idea how much rain will happen between now and race 1 let alone the plate.
  16. Hey! I am on a site called “Demon”Land
  17. I’m sure all those bands had his poster on the wall… Don’t be like that guy! Don’t be like that guy 😂
  18. These first bands are known as second wave Black metal, but only in retrospect. They were influenced by bands like Venom and Bathory, now known as first wave, but really not similar at all. In saying that, Black metal can be fast, slow, heavy, depressing, beautiful, pagan etc etc, unlike a lot of genres it has no real set structure. But interestingly Black metal is the closest musically written and structured as classical music. Emperor - I am the black Wizards Dark Throne - Transylvania Hunger Cradle of Filth - Her Ghost in the fog Gorgoroth - Prayer Satyricon - black crow on the tombstone Rotting Christ - Raven Immortal - Tyrants Dark Funeral - Artrum Regina These bands followed those above. Wolves in the throne room - I will lay down my bones or Diadem of 12 stars Kampfar - Det Sorte Wodensthrone - That which is now forgotten Moonsorrow- suden tunti MGLA - Exercise in futility V Drudkh - Solitude Der Weg Einer Freiheit- Aufbruch None - Wither Imperium Dekadenz - Ave Danuvi Hulder - Purgations of bodily corruptions Suldusk - Nazare Darkher - where the devil waits Veitah - Tajamnica Tajamnic I’m only scratching the surface and have left out many bands, but tried to get a spread of various styles and be aware a lot don’t sing in English
  19. For Black metal? Bare with me, at work and this might take a while… 😂
  20. Haven’t looked much but Anamoe should win. As a roughy I might take Mr Brightside
  21. Yeah he is good, hate the prog stuff they do now. Paradise Lost have always been a fav and I like both his growls and clean. She is a bit weird at first but you get used to her quirks. Done some amazing analysis over the years.
  22. Their latest album is amazing, I rate it up there with their early stuff.
  23. Could always learn vocal warm up lessons, That surely would help.
  24. James Hetfield from Metallica blew his out. But it’s all about warming up and not forcing a sound but what sound you can make. Like Falsetto some have the range/abilty to do so. One of the more interesting vocalists is Dani Filth and he does the black metal style growls but adds a falsetto range to the growls which gives a mix of higher pitched growls. I watch a classical singer/vocal teacher who watches vids and talks you through how they are singing etc, I find it fascinating.
  25. New Drudkh album in a month, Uada are still good, bit pretentious at times tho. Midian is my fav! And it’s funny you saying Cradle is as far as you go, they are pretty far down the road compared to most. im like you, I like groove and lots of tempo changes but some days you just need a full on wall of integrity like Marduk or for insanity purposes the latest Weigedood which is a mind****! Some great gym music is Marduk -Panzer division, Skeletonwitch- Beyond the permafrost, Blood Tsunami - grand feast for vultures. Last two are Black thrash so fast but with lots of grooves and time changes. I did too! 😂
