Sounds like a very informative experience! I totally forgot about Melb Design Week this year, always some great exhibits on. Feel free to share those details via PM if you feel!

That's right. Most people had no idea who Jack Bowes was before Geelong when he was quite an effective dasher off HB.
-
I do assume you mean he just needs to be dropped because if he needs a physical rest right now then god help us.
-
That big bodied midfielder who can win you a clearance when the game is on the line is key and it really shows how much of a game changer it is when you see the drop off we're seeing with Oliver. Having what he gave us at the top of his game was a multiplier effect.

Dockers had 90 points from turnover. Yikes.

You'd think when a directive is given that it at least brings a sugar hit of consistency for a brief moment, Thurs and Fri showed this but the rest of the weekend was all over the place.
-
Well I hope you call in this week because I do enjoy your contributions.

SOLUTIONS NEEDED. 2 JUNE 2024. Memo to Goody
layzie replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
Almost a throwback to the horrible shape we looked in to start the 2019 season, always a step or two behind. -
I'll be fine the moment I get those first few "What happened to Melbourne?" comments out of the way 🙂

The morning after is the worst. What a dagger.

MFC - Shame on you

Had a good run

I don't see it at all from this guy. Physically or game wise.
-
Anyone else really disappointed that people actually voted?
-
We could win this to be honest. And monkeys might fly out of my butt.
-
Well that's just it isn't it? This is the new norm for Petty. I really don't want to hear about unrewarded leads this week either.
-
Yeah need to just cool it on the Binman binning.

The attitude towards rehabbing and management of players has completely stumped me this year. Absolutely stumped me. We start with Rd 0 and taking some massively underdone players into that game. We go to Rd 2 where our best defender cracks his ribs, is out for literally 10 days then comes back in only to cop it there early in the game against Adelaide and show signs of visable pain. Again on Rd 2 where our other gun defender appears to tweak his knee, seems fine and a couple of months later has a concussion which at that point gets put in for surgery on his knee that he'd 'been playing through'. Rd 5 where Clarry hurts his hand and again is visably in pain throughout the game against Bris. I could go on and on, I'm tired of it. Lambs to the slaughter.

Glad to be back

The ref had no idea

I've had that many stupid random grand final dreams I can't even remember them all. One of them was during 2001 playing them in a rematch GF that year and I was at the game but my seat was in the Botanic Gardens. Guess I was really in the nosebleeds..

The only grade is the one we didn't make today. *jazz hands* 😉
-
My kingdom for depth in the midfield. That's pretty much it for me, there is no-one at Casey I'd feel confident throwing the keys to right now. Instead we've gone out and sought some break in case of emergency talls.
-
Can you use loading as an excuse for a 90+ point loss? Genuine question because I'm going to find it a hard listen if that's the narrative and that we'll be running on top of the ground in a few months.

One of the feelings that I keep coming back to is this. For most of my life as a Dees fan, you got used to the chance that no matter how terrible or good we were at the time, a result like this could happen. Forget 186, I remember being in my adolescence in 98 and being in reasonable form coming up against an ok Geelong team that was still sort of riding on the tails of those GF appearances list wise. They came out in that first quarter and smacked us, goal after goal after goal it was completely unprecedented. You then have 186, another gane that I at least expected us to be competitive in but a witches hats like performance. Obviously the last game of Roos in 16. We've been spoiled, yes spoiled. Since that 2016 game against the Cats we have almost always been in games, very rarely have we had the wanting to hide our face feeling due to our talent, system and competitiveness. It has always helped us % wise and really in 8 years to hardly lose a game by over 50 points is remarkable. And then comes today, that old and dark feeling that on any given gameday a shellacking could happen. Yes, I thank the MFC for this run of not being bounced but this one certainly took me back.
