I don't mind the idea of Brown but I do worry about our ability on the ground. We need pressure and that's all there is to it.

Can't say anything that hasn't already been said. Find a the footy well and shakes defenders. Needs to kick through the big skittles

Off today and watching, really disappointing. The Hawks were probably always going to win this, such a well coached team with at least the equal MVP QB right now. I know we have injuries but I just can't get past the issues surrounding Jimmy G right now. Yes he's struggled with his own injury problems and who knows how much this high ankle sprain is affecting him but I think it's more than that, the guy misses simple reads far too often. Even in the wins we've had this year it seems to come from a Shanahan offense with training wheels on it. Not always a bad thing, can work for the Andy Daltons and the Ryan Tannehills of this world, but we're paying ridiculous money for a guy to make dink throws and hand off. It's also exhausting having the heart in mouth all the time when he just won't throw it away, he gets crunched badly at least twice a game. I know we won't get much sympathy nor should we but geez it's hard to see a team more all over the map in the last decade than ours.

Yeah I can't quite get all the disappointment! Things change at rapid pace, I'm confident your info was probably right at that point in the week but then the 11th hour bids out of no-where come in. Credits in the bank, keep on posting and don't worry about all the other stuff, you're Dr Evil! You should be focusing on taking over the world (or something like that) :p.

At the start of the season I would have said 7-9 but even that looks like a stretch right now.

Stupid Seahawks! At least our division opened up.
-
Yeah for sure. And Petty would be a considerable upgrade.

I think forward is his only chance. Not quite switched on enough as a defender. Decent one on one player but that's it down back.

Great move, happy with that

More and more I feel society doesn't really know how to disagree properly. There is rarely middle ground between someone disagreeing and making the other person feel terrible/That person takes it too personally and not saying anything in order to rock the boat. I don't know if anyone else feels this but you see it on TV and in media all the time. It's not only about not letting emotions get in the way but how do you also show someone that you respect their opinion without agreeing with it but then also not having that resulting awkwardness? There are posters on here I've discussed topics with for a while so you know there is some kind of mutual respect there but if they are people you don't know its tougher to gauge, just my 2 cents.

A lot to like about Lockhart for me. Helped in big ways in a few of our wins. Pretty dumbfounded to say the least when he was dropped, I think there could be some fruit to bear still.

Really?? That's incredible! My Rugby background is much more to the Union side but I'm sure its the same that you expect those kicks from penalties to just sail into touch while they organise their defence. Amazing stuff. Sensational from Smith absolute legend. If he bows out now that's a glittering career. The bile from those commentators was as big as Sydney harbour. Gus Gould sounded like he was commentating live from a funeral.

That was excellent viewing for the casual. Thought the Storm made some excellent match winning plays, especially that leap by the full back to save that penalty kick from going out. Don't think I've ever seen that. Penrith seemed like a team that can score quickly when given a sniff and they charged home hard. Get Craig Bellamy as MFC coach. Get their kicking coach while at it.

Appreciate the thoughts Monoccular. I guess the main similarity was both of them having that caged lion about to be unleashed thing. Performing in finals is a huge difference though.

Thumbs down to the Night Grand Final concept for me. I understand reviews are mixed on this but I don't think the spectacle provided justified it not did the AFL take advantage of any benefit to come from it. Was looking forward to DMAs but that was disappointing l. Who gets guest acts for their event to perform only 1 song that is a cover? Excruciating wait for the game, whole thing is done around 11:30pm what can you do with that? Smarter thing would have been to trial twilight first. I'm sorry I know being a traditionalist counts for F all these days but last night felt like an NRL Grand Final to me which the AFL should be 100,000 miles away from right now. Sacred day, different to any other day on the AFL calendar. A prelim at night is different to the GF at night. Everyone is different but it really feels the same as someone telling me that Christmas lunch this year will be moved to Christmas dinner. Just my thoughts, respectful disagreements welcome.

Ooowee, a few too many IPAs last night that's for sure. I'm a sucker for Hop Nation J-juice. It's not my fault though, just like it a lot.

That's the spirit!

Excellent player, at very least can say he played in the last day. Never saw RDB play but from everything I've ever read and heard he seems like the closest thing to a comparison (more than happy to be corrected). Gut feel is he doesn't get another shot at it.

Certainly got a few ducks to get in a row here.

Can't do anything but admire excellence I guess.

Thanks Demonland. No year like it and DL rose to the occasion. Thanks to all the contributors and posters And to Andy, George and Binman for giving us great match analysis on the podcast. All the best to everyone and stay safe.
