  1. Jake looks so innocent until you see the big mo!
  2. Daniher was all about owning the corridor as well and kicking back in board. There's no doubt game plans evolve as the season goes on. David King also talked about the 'fake football' philosophy with Freo and how they chip around to protect their back 6. We see Freo as this kind of team generally but I do recall a certain game at the G in May last year where they were down 4 goals and decided to speed it up their ball movement in the 2nd half. Probably their win of the season.
  3. Couldn't agree more. Smashing Collingwood in a Grand FInal would be as good as it gets for me but losing to them in one would smash me into a million pieces like waterford crystal. The anxiety this would bring on would be extreme, going through that whole week and the nerves in another stratosphere. Honestly I'd prefer all our grand finals from here on against anyone else or GWS or something.
  4. Before it's all said and done I'd love to see Joel get a shot up forward. I've still got that 2019 pre season form in my head.
  5. Had West Coast last week, will go with them again but they are losing a friend in me fast if they lose this.
  6. This is great! DL has really gone up a notch with all access stuff this year!
  7. Cheers Pennant, is he psychically as big as Jacob?
  8. Can anyone use this? I want to see it write a Trent Reznor song.
  9. Yeah I thought they just did regional flights on the East side, I'd give them a go for sure!
  10. See your point Viper, it's a bit of chicken and egg where if his personality was nurtured well then he could have thrived. He very well could have been brilliant but I do have reservations and personally feel it's a bit simplistic to point to the culture as the sole reason, especially after 9 years at the club. But I absolutely think he would have been a much better player if drafted around now, no question about it.
  11. Pretty much all these. Sort of like a 'walk through' and light hitout with minimal coaching.
  12. Ok another AFL game, can we expect wingers to not be out on the boundaries at least?
  13. Jetstar is worse surely!
  14. I'm in two minds about this. Undoubtedly Jack would have been far better off in the current environment as a youngster but I also don't think his lack of success was all down to being in a basket case of a system either. He's a lovely guy, almost to a fault and never quite had that killer instinct of a Nick Riewoldt or JVR that was probably required to make it big in this league. He had absolutely appalling treatment from media, fans and opposition fans. He didn't deserve it and it certainly didn't help his progress but when I look at the other guys who also started in that same cruddy environment eg. Jones, Viney, Tom Mcdonald it's apples and oranges.
  15. Thanks DeelightfulPlay! This is usually the kind of thing I'd be all over so I'm surprised I hadn't heard of it.
  16. What a day for the kid! Then he accidentally punches Colin Sylvia in the face in the celebration of Yze's goal.
  17. I hope we just play them off the park. Couldn't really give a stuff about drama from last year.
  18. Brisbane's backline doesn't scare me one little bit. Just a bunch of loose zoning and relying on Rich to distribute out of there.
  19. I mean it is true, we are better than them. Maybe it's one of those things where the truth hurts?
  20. What I want is the story of the kid born from around 2012 too young to remember the Hawks flags but their earliest and only memory of playing finals is against us in 2018 bundling them out and then them go 50 years of their life without coming close to winning another flag. Only that bitter memory to hang on to..
  21. Thank you. Every year I want Melbourne to win the flag and everyone else to lose. There is varying degree of dislike eg I would barrack for Sydney against Collingwood in a Grand Final but no-one else has my heart or interest.
  22. Werridee probably did one of these very recently.
  23. Definitely. I think a lot of people see them as our bunny, which is fine but treat with caution. This midfield is going to be a tough test and if we are even 5% off their forwards will score on us. Plenty for our coaches to think about.
